Nigel Farage Booed By Reform UK Supporters After Humiliating Slip-Up On Stage

Nigel Farage was booed by Reform UK’s own supporters after forgetting where exactly he was today.

The party leader was trying to lay out his plan to “fix Britain in the first 100 days” of a hypothetical Reform government during a rally in Plymouth – when he accidentally said he was in Portsmouth instead.

In the middle of a long speech, surrounded by signs reading “live from Plymouth”, the Clacton MP said: “Yes I do want to talk about Brexit. Plymouth voted clearly and decisively for Brexit by a higher margin than the rest of the country.

“One of the things, one of the sensible beliefs we had was that we would get back control of our waters.

“There is a big fishing fleet here in Portsmouth…”

The crowd quickly erupted in boos as Farage rushed to correct himself.

He said: “Sorry, did I say – Plymouth! Plymouth, sorry. It’s very small in Portsmouth!”

While both are port cities on the UK’s southern coast who voted Leave in the EU referendum, they are approximately 160 miles apart.

Reform UK’s Treasury spokesperson Robert Jenrick also made a blunder in the same press conference by asking the audience to stand up if they work – and only a handful did.

It comes as the right-wing party continues to struggle in the opinion polls, with YouGov putting Reform on 22% behind both the Conservatives and Labour.

Since winning the local elections in May, support for Reform has declined dramatically as Farage have become embroiled in a series of controversies.

He is still being investigated by the parliamentary standards commissioner for failing to declare a £5 million gift from crypto billionaire Christopher Harborne before he became an MP in 2024.

The Metropolitan Police are probing the outcome of an undercover sting by Channel 4 which appeared to show senior Reform officials trying to solicit an illegal donation from a wealthy American.

Meanwhile, a separate investigation by ITV published on Sunday showed Reform councillors and candidates making racist and sexist remarks.
