Trump Celebrates Late Show Cancellation: ‘I Absolutely Love That Colbert Got Fired’

President Donald Trump is wasting no time in celebrating the news that CBS is officially cancelling Stephen Colbert’s “The Late Show,” and wrote Friday on social media that vocal Trump critic and comedian Jimmy Kimmel might be “next” to lose his job on ABC.

“I absolutely love that Colbert’ got fired,” Trump wrote Friday on his Truth Social platform.

“His talent was even less than his ratings,” the president continued. “I hear Jimmy Kimmel is next. Has even less talent than Colbert! Greg Gutfeld is better than all of them combined, including the Moron on NBC who ruined the once great Tonight Show.”

Kimmel famously roasted Trump on one of the biggest stages of all, at the 2024 Oscars.

CBS announced in a statement Thursday that the move is “purely a financial decision against a challenging backdrop in late night,” and said the cancellation is not related “in any way to the show’s performance, content or other matters happening at Paramount.”

The “Late Show” cancellation does arrive mere days after Colbert torched CBS parent company Paramount Global, however, for settling a lawsuit with Trump for $16 million over a “60 Minutes” interview with former Vice President Kamala Harris.

The agreement reportedly included a “side deal” for CBS to run at least $15 million worth of public service ads that promote causes Trump personally supports, which has raised huge concerns from press freedom advocates — which seemed to include Colbert.

“As someone who has always been a proud employee of this network, I am offended,” the comedian and political pundit said during Monday’s monologue, his first after a vacation. “I don’t know if anything — anything — will repair my trust in this company.”

Colbert went on to directly call the settlement a “big fat bribe,” presumably because the pending and highly publicised merger between Paramount and Skydance Media requires legal approval from the pro-Trump chair of the Federal Communications Commission.

Trump went as far to suggest Friday that Fox News host Greg Gutfeld is funnier than Colbert.

Colbert then slammed Paramount with a mock statement announcing that its “dignity” could be bought “for the low, low price of $16 million.” While it remains unsubstantiated that he was ousted specifically for this monologue, many are confident that’s the case.

“CBS canceled Colbert’s show just THREE DAYS after Colbert called out CBS parent company Paramount for its $16M settlement with Trump – a deal that looks like bribery,” Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) wrote Friday on X, formerly Twitter.

“America deserves to know if his show was canceled for political reasons,” she continued.

Trump Lashes Out At Rupert Murdoch Over WSJ Epstein Bombshell

Donald Trump on Friday lashed out at Rupert Murdoch, the owner of The Wall Street Journal, saying he can’t wait to fight him in court over the newspaper’s decision to publish a report alleging that the president wrote a “bawdy” message to Jeffrey Epstein in 2003 as part of a birthday surprise for the disgraced financier.

“I look forward to getting Rupert Murdoch to testify in my lawsuit against him and his ‘pile of garbage’ newspaper, the WSJ,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform. “That will be an interesting experience!!!”

The Journal published its story on Thursday, alleging that Trump was among the people who wrote letters to Epstein as part of an album put together by Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s girlfriend and associate, for his 50th birthday.

The letter attributed to Trump that the Journal reviewed featured “several lines of typewritten text framed by the outline of a naked woman, which appears to be hand-drawn with a heavy marker,” the article states.

“Happy Birthday — and may every day be another wonderful secret,” the message concluded, according to the Journal.

The newspaper added that pages from the album have been examined by Justice Department investigators in the past, while noting that it was unclear whether the letter was among the materials reviewed in the most recent probe.

Trump, who disputed the authenticity of the letter, slammed the newspaper and threatened to sue both the outlet and Murdoch over its publication.

“The Wall Street Journal printed a FAKE letter, supposedly to Epstein,” Trump wrote. “These are not my words, not the way I talk. Also, I don’t draw pictures. I told Rupert Murdoch it was a Scam, that he shouldn’t print this Fake Story. But he did, and now I’m going to sue his ass off, and that of his third rate newspaper.”

The president had previously said he also tried to get the Journal’s editor-in-chief, Emma Tucker, to kill the story.

“Mr. Murdoch stated that he would take care of it but, obviously, did not have the power to do so,” Trump said.

Tucker “was told directly by [White House press secretary] Karoline Leavitt, and by President Trump, that the letter was a FAKE, but Emma Tucker didn’t want to hear that. Instead, they are going with a false, malicious, and defamatory story anyway,” he added.

Epstein died in federal prison one month after being arrested on charges of sex-trafficking minors in 2019, during Trump’s first term. While the president has tried to distance himself from Epstein, the two men had a well-documented friendship.

A recent memo by the Trump administration stating that there was no evidence to suggest he was murdered or that he held a client list to blackmail people contradicted Attorney General Pam Bondi’s earlier comments that the client list was “sitting on [her] desk” for review under a directive from Trump.

Trump on Thursday ordered Bondi to release grand jury transcripts on the case “subject to Court approval,” but one Democrat has already remarked that the request covers just a fraction of the documents at the DOJ’s disposal.

Rosie O’Donnell Responded To Trump’s Citizenship Threat — And She Didn’t Hold Back

President Donald Trump is once again reviving his long-running feud with Rosie O’Donnell — this time with a baseless threat to revoke her citizenship.

In a Saturday post on Truth Social, Trump referred to the actor and comedian as a “threat to humanity,” citing her as someone who is not in “the best interest” of the country.

“Because of the fact that Rosie O’Donnell is not in the best interests of our Great Country, I am giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship,” he wrote. “She is a Threat to Humanity, and should remain in the wonderful Country of Ireland, if they want her. GOD BLESS AMERICA!”

Trump’s remarks appeared to be in response to a TikTok video O’Donnell posted on Friday, in which she criticized the Republican Party and the current political climate of the US.

“He is definitely in a decline, and if you can’t see that, I don’t know what to tell you,” she said.

The Emmy-winning actor later fired back with two Instagram posts addressing Trump’s threat. In the first, she took direct aim at the president.

The president of the usa has always hated the fact that i see him for who he is – a criminal con man sexual abusing liar out to harm our nation to serve himself – this is why i moved to ireland,” she wrote. “he is a dangerous old soulless man with dementia who lacks empathy, compassion and basic humanity – i stand in direct opposition all he represents – so do millions of others – u gonna deport all who stand against ur evil tendencies – ur a bad joke who cant form a coherent sentence #nevertrump

In a second post, O’Donnell referenced their decades-long public battle and added that she resides “rent-free in that collapsing brain” of his.

“you call me a threat to humanity –but I’m everything you fear:a loud womana queer womana mother who tells the truthan American who got out of the country b4 u set it ablaze you build walls –I build a life for my autistic kid in a country where decency still exists.”

O’Donnell first shared in March that she had relocated to Ireland on Jan. 15, calling the decision “pretty wonderful.”

“I miss many things about life there at home and I’m trying to find a home here in this beautiful country, and when it is safe for all citizens to have equal rights there in America, that’s when we will consider coming back,” she said.

Trump White House Halts Weapon Shipments To Ukraine To ‘Put America’s Interests First’

Donald Trump’s administration has halted weapon shipments to Ukraine, sparking major concern in Kyiv – but delight in Moscow.

The White House said the move followed fears that the US is facing stockpile issues with its arsenal after a recent Department of Defence review.

The US has subsequently decided to “put America’s interests first”, according to the White House.

The Pentagon allegedly chose to halt shipments of critical US Patriot air defence systems and other precision weapons in June but the decision only came to light overnight.

The White House deputy press secretary Anna Kelly batted away suggestions this threw America’s military into question, saying: ”[The decision] was made to put America’s interests first following a DOD review of our nation’s military support and assistance to other countries across the globe.

“The strength of the United States armed forces remains unquestioned – just ask Iran.”

Ukraine said it did not receive any official notification from the US over the suspension of the military aid.

“Ukraine has not received official notices regarding the suspension or revision of the delivery schedules of agreed defense assistance,” the Ukrainian defence ministry said in a statement.

Mykhailo Podolyak, advisor to president Volodymyr Zelenskyy, even claimed on Wednesday that “deliveries continue”.

He added: “It would look very strange and inhumane to stop supplying missiles for Patriot systems that protect Ukrainian civilians.”

Ukraine’s foreign ministry has subsequently summoned the US Charge d-Affaires John Ginkel over the reported pause.

Ukraine’s deputy foreign minister Mariana Betsa also warned: “Any delay or hesitation in supporting Ukraine’s defence capabilities will only encourage Russia to continue war and terror, rather than pursue peace.”

But Russia was delighted by the news. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said: “The fewer weapons that are supplied to Ukraine, the closer the end of the [war].”

Russia has stepped up its attacks on Ukraine in recent months, launching a record 5,337 drones in June – the highest total since Vladimir Putin first invaded in 2022.

The Russian president also claimed “all of Ukraine is ours” just last week, suggesting his land grab is far from over.

‘Downhill From Here For Trump’: Senior BBC Reporter’s Bleak Prediction After Iran Strikes

It is all “downhill” for Donald Trump from now onwards after his strikes on Iran, according to the BBC’s world affairs editor.

The US president announced overnight that America has “obliterated” three nuclear facilities in Iran, and urged Tehran to come to the negotiating table or face further attacks.

The move comes after Israel began a week of exchanging fire with Iran.

“I feel last night was a big change, a major turn of the page,” John Simpson said on BBC News. “In one major respect, I think it’s downhill for President Trump from now on.”

The broadcaster continued: “He’s losing the support of the isolationists among the MAGA-supporters, of whom there are a large if not dominant amount.

“He’s done something he promised he wouldn’t do and he’s moving against that, and I think we’ll find that his power will start to diminish after this.”

In his election campaign, Trump promised to be a peaceful president, and put “America First” by pulling the States out of other countries’ wars.

But many of his supporters now question if that is still his thinking, considering he has just pulled the US into a raging war in conflict.

Simpson also discussed the likelihood of an Iranian response.

He said: “We shouldn’t overestimate Iran’s strengths or its abilities.”

“Yes of course it can do asymmetrical attacks,” he noted, but added that these were “limited small-time” moves which are not “population-threatening”.

“We shouldn’t be too scared about Iran’s likely retaliation,” he said.

Simpson sent a similar message on X, saying: “As a result of his bombing of Iran, Trump’s presidency has entered new and much more conflicted territory.

“The US isolationist right are already criticising him. Trump could now be involved in precisely the kind of war he blamed his predecessors for.”
