Donald Trump Makes Absolutely Wild Claim About Joe Biden And Catholics

Donald Trump accused President Joe Biden of overseeing a Soviet-style persecution of Catholics and claimed FBI undercover spies are about to infiltrate the churches. (Watch the video below.)

Biden has described himself as a “practicing Catholic,” and is just the second Catholic president after JFK. But that didn’t stop the GOP front-runner from launching dubious allegations at his probable adversary in the 2024 election.

“Under Crooked Joe Biden, Christians and Americans of faith are being persecuted like nothing this nation has ever seen before,” Trump said in the video posted to Truth Social on Thursday.

“Catholics in particular are being targeted and evangelicals are surely on the watch list as well. Over the past three years, the Biden administration has sent SWAT teams to arrest pro-life activists. The FBI has been caught profiling devout Catholics as possible domestic terrorists and planning to send undercover spies into Catholic churches, just like in the old days of the Soviet Union.”

A leaked FBI memo titled “Interest of Racially or Ethnically Motivated Violent Extremists in Radical-Traditionalist Catholic Ideology Almost Certainly Presents New Mitigation Opportunities” was interpreted by some conservatives to mean that the Justice Department was generally targeting Catholics as domestic terrorists. Attorney General Merrick Garland called the accusation “outrageous” and said he was appalled by the memo. “Any characterization that the FBI is targeting Catholics is false,” the bureau said to Newsweek on Friday.

As for arrests of pro-life activists that Trump referred to, he may have been referring to action against alleged extremists that conservatives seemed to spin into a false narrative about a war against the religious right, as HuffPost reported in 2022.

One of the suspects, Mark Houck, was acquitted of federal charges in January 2023.

In his new video plea, Trump also urged Catholics not to vote for Biden or any other Democrat and promised to form a task force against “anti-Christian bias.” The task force would also “look at government agencies, universities, and major corporations that have adopted anti-Christian diversity, equity and inclusion programs.”

In comments made in 2021 nearly a year after his 2020 defeat to Biden, Trump complained about losing ungrateful Catholic supporters for that election. “I did a lot for the Catholics. I’m a little bit surprised that we didn’t do better with the Catholic vote,” Trump said. He added at one point he was “very optimistic that we’re going to be back.”

Tucker Carlson Addresses Trump Running Mate Speculation With Next-Level Toadying

Former Fox News personality Tucker Carlson has poured cold water on speculation that he may join former President Donald Trump on the Republican 2024 ticket.

Trump himself has suggested he may be open to the idea of the conspiracy theorist — who frequently promoted racist and far-right talking points on his prime-time Fox show until he was fired in April — as his running mate if he secures the Republican nomination.

But when fellow Fox alum Megyn Kelly asked Carlson on her SiriusXM show on Monday if he would serve as Trump’s right-hand-man if requested, Carlson said it would be “so unimaginable.”

“I mean, I haven’t led a life that prepares a person for politics,” Carlson told Kelly. “As I said, I don’t think I have any horrible skeletons or anything. It’s not that. It’s just that that’s not how my brain works. I’ve never done anything like that. I can’t imagine spending time with politicians.”

In private messages that were released in March as part of Dominion Voting Systems’ defamation lawsuit against Fox News, Carlson said he hated Trump “passionately.”

To Kelly on Monday, though, Carlson ― who on the same day launched his own streaming platform ― had nothing but praise for the four-times-indicted former president.

“I’m a total sucker for Trump,” he claimed. “Personally, I get along with Trump really well. The closer I am physically to Trump, like if I’m with him in the room, I always love Trump and I think it’s impossible not to, and you know the experience. He’s just charming.”

Carlson called Trump “funny as hell” and “brave in his way” and said he agreed with many of his policies and was “kind of psyched to vote” for him if he becomes the GOP nominee next year.

“But serving in politics with anybody, I mean, that’s just a lot for me to think about because I just don’t think I’m really suited for that. Would anyone want to see a guy like me run for office?” Carlson asked.

“Yes,” replied Kelly. ”I thought about it a million times.”

She predicted, “You’re not gonna end your life without having been probably president, maybe vice president. I just don’t think you will.”

‘Brilliant’ Joe Biden Ad Torches Donald Trump In Simplest Possible Way

Donald Trump’s derogatory comments about U.S. military service members and veterans were used against him in a powerful new ad released by President Joe Biden’s 2024 campaign to mark Veterans Day.

MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough hailed the spot as “brilliant” because it simply used the former president’s own words “to drive the message home.”

The video highlights Republican 2024 front-runner Trump’s description of fallen soldiers as “suckers” and his criticism of the late Senator John McCain for being captured during the Vietnam War.

“If you don’t respect our troops, you can’t lead them,” the ad says at the end.

The spot has garnered more than 24.5 million views on X, formerly Twitter.

And Scarborough’s analysis of the 45-second clip on Monday’s broadcast of “Morning Joe” has received more than 1.2 million views on YouTube alone.

Trump never served in the military. He received five deferments to avoid the Vietnam draft and in 1998 told radio host Howard Stern that his own personal Vietnam was avoiding contracting STDs.

Ex-Senior Trump Official: He’s A ‘Traitor’ And ‘A Clear And Present Danger’

A former senior official in Donald Trump’s White House slammed his ex-boss as a “traitor” and “a clear and present danger to our democracy,” according to a new book by ABC’s Jonathan Karl.

Karl told MSNBC’s Jen Psaki on Monday evening that the unnamed official served Trump “loyally” for more than a year “at a very high level inside the West Wing, very close to Donald Trump” and hasn’t been publicly critical of him.

Psaki read the full quote from the official:

“He lacks any shred of human decency, humility or caring. He is morally bankrupt, breathtakingly dishonest, lethally incompetent, and stunningly ignorant of virtually anything related to governing, history, geography, human events or world affairs. He is a traitor and a malignancy in our nation and represents a clear and present danger to our democracy and the rule of law.”

“It gets to a fundamental truth about Donald Trump, and that is the most piercing and searing criticism of him,” Karl said. “The people that are sounding the alarm loudest about what a second Trump term would mean are those who are closest to him.”

Karl told Psaki that the former official hasn’t gone public because he fears “retribution” from Trump against himself and his family.

Karl’s book, “Tired of Winning,” hits shelves on Tuesday.

Former President Donald Trump brought along an army of friends with him to watch UFC action at Madison Square Garden this weekend but his entrance didn’t go without two middle fingers from the crowd.

The former president continued shaking hands with the crowd before one woman flipped the double bird in his direction in a clip that has since gone viral.

The woman, who sat beside stand-up comedian Bill Burr, appears to be the comic’s wife Nia Renée Hill.

Social media users on X (formerly Twitter) gave the woman props for giving Trump the bird and called for the image to be put in a museum.

LAS VEGAS — Despite having praised the anti-Israel group Hezbollah as “very smart” and disparaging Israeli leaders just days after an attack that killed well over a thousand people in the country, Donald Trump nevertheless received a hero’s welcome Saturday at the Republican Jewish Coalition’s annual conference.

Trump, the eighth and final speaker at a forum of 2024 GOP presidential candidates, got a lengthy standing ovation before he even said a word in a massive ballroom at The Venetian Resort on the Las Vegas Strip.

“I love Israel,” he said to cheers. “I love Israel.”

Over the next half-hour, the former president ticked off all the things he had done for the country and encouraged Israel to wipe out Hamas, whose members carried out the Oct. 7 assault, while criticizing U.S. President Joe Biden’s calls for Israel to restrain its retaliatory strikes to avoid harming civilians.

“Every single life that is lost in this conflict is on the shoulders of Hamas alone,” Trump said to more cheers.

Matt Brooks, the Republican Jewish Coalition’s CEO, said he understood why attendees gave Trump a pass on his comments, considering Trump’s “incredible pro-Israel record” during his four years in office. “His record is unblemished on this,” Brooks said.

Ari Fleischer, a press secretary in the George W. Bush White House and a member of the group’s board of directors, said most Jewish Republicans still back Trump. “He shouldn’t have said it,” Fleischer said of Trump’s comments. “But his record is so strong and so good, he still has a deep pool of goodwill.”

Trump’s remarks praising Hezbollah came just four days after Hamas, the Gaza-based militant group, killed more than 1,400 people in Israel, according to the country, with another 200 taken hostage. “You know, Hezbollah is very smart. They’re all very smart,” Trump told his West Palm Beach audience in a speech that also denigrated Israeli military officials and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Trump, who as president reversed several U.S. policies to encourage Netanyahu to do as he pleased, soured on the Israeli leader after he called to congratulate Biden after the 2020 election. Trump falsely claimed then, and continues to falsely claim now, that he actually won.

While attendees at the annual summit said they were irked by Trump’s remarks, many said they would not hold them against him as he seeks the 2024 GOP nomination because, as president, he moved the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, supported the building of even more Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank territory, recognized Israel’s annexation of the Golan Heights, and helped broker a normalization treaty between Israel and multiple Arab countries.

“There is nobody who did more for Israel than Trump,” said Sinan Gursoy, a cardiologist in Naples, Florida, as he downplayed Trump’s previous remarks. “This is his style. People have got to get used to it.”

Biden’s campaign, meanwhile, pointed to Trump’s comments as an example of the sort of rhetoric that Americans grew weary of during his presidency. “The simple truth is, Trump’s erratic attacks on Israel are par for the course for a man who undermined our national security and embarrassed our nation on the world stage,” said campaign spokesperson T.J. Ducklo. “The more Trump speaks, the more voters are reminded just how dangerous and unfit to lead he is.”

Among Trump’s rivals for the 2024 GOP nomination, though, only former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley criticized Trump. She said that in a time of conflict in Israel and Russia’s continuing assault on Ukraine, the United States could not afford another Trump presidency.

“We cannot have four years of chaos, vendettas and drama. Eight years ago it was good to have a leader that broke things. Now we need a leader that knows how to put things back together,” she said. “America needs a captain that will steady the ship, not capsize it. And Republicans need a candidate who can actually win.”

Seth Meyers on Thursday contrasted the “blustery, unhinged” figure that former President Donald Trump cuts in public to the Trump “who only exists when he’s under oath” and under threat of perjury.

Trump when testifying is “suddenly much calmer, he’s more restrained, you could even say sheepish,” noted the Late Night comedian.

To prove the point, Meyers aired a video deposition from the future president in a 2016 lawsuit. In the clip, Trump answers questions in a respectful tone.

“That footage is amazing,” said Meyers. “It’s like watching the neighbourhood Rottweiler who’s always terrorising the mailman suddenly mope around in a cone.”

“Like in public he’s a raving lunatic screaming shit like, ‘Radical woke Democrats are using windmills and secret satellites to kill Christmas’ and then under oath he’s practically Emily Post,” he added.

It’s because under oath is “the only place Trump faces consequences,” explained Meyers, who later noted how the ex-POTUS’ latest outburst against a court staffer in his civil fraud trial — in violation of a gag order which banned him from doing so — saw him slapped with a $10,000 (£8,256) fine.

Critics Bring The Receipts Over Trump’s New Claim About Sidney Powell

Donald Trump is suddenly claiming Sidney Powell was never his attorney, but reporters and social media users were quick to jog his memory.

The former president posted on Truth Social on Sunday morning that the election-denying lawyer “WAS NOT MY ATTORNEY, AND NEVER WAS.”

The post followed Thursday’s news that Powell had reached a deal with Fulton County prosecutors handling the Georgia racketeering case against Trump and 17 others over an alleged plot to change the state’s 2020 election results.

Powell pleaded guilty to six misdemeanours related to intentionally interfering with an election.

In exchange for her cooperation with prosecutors, Powell must serve six years of probation, pay a fine of $6,000 (£4,940) and write an apology to Georgia residents.

Over on X (formerly Twitter), people promptly pointed out someone who contradicts Trump’s latest version of events: Trump, in 2020.

Trump announced in a tweet on November 15, 2020, that Powell had joined his “truly great” legal team, weeks after losing the election to YS President Joe Biden, as the Washington Post’s Aaron Blake noted.

Trump’s former personal attorney Rudy Giuliani, who led the legal charge to overturn the 2020 results, also made comments explicitly to the contrary.

At a now-infamous press conference on November 19, 2020, Giuliani introduced himself, Powell and others as members of Trump’s legal team, saying, “We’re representing President Trump and we’re representing the Trump campaign.”

Powell testified under oath before the House January 6 committee that Trump had asked her to be “special counsel to address the election issues.”

Video of that moment from her deposition was shown at one of the panel’s congressional hearings last year.

Donald Trump Promises 100% Evidence Of 2020 Fraud — With A Racist Dogwhistle

Donald Trump just became his own hypeman in the trials he faces for attempting to overturn the results of the 2020 election.

The ex-president promised yet again on Friday to produce irrefutable evidence in court that he got robbed of a victory after lying about his election loss for three years.

“Massive information and 100% evidence will be made available during the Corrupt Trials started by our Political Opponent,” he wrote on Truth Social. “We will never let 2020 happen again. Look at the result, OUR COUNTRY IS BEING DESTROYED. MAGA!!!”

Trump even threw in what many people identified as thinly veiled racism.

“Does anyone notice that the Election Rigging Biden Administration never goes after the Riggers, but only after those that want to catch and expose the Rigging dogs,” he said.

Following a similar statement about “riggers” in August, critics, including his former communications director Alyssa Farah Griffin, accused the ex-president of using a racist dogwhistle to appeal to bigots. “Riggers,” of course, is just a letter away from a heinous slur.

We’ve been here before with Trump and his promises to verify his baseless claims of a stolen election. He recently announced a press conference to present a “CONCLUSIVE” report that would lead to “a complete EXONERATION.” But he canceled it.

Trump can’t really cancel a trial, so maybe we’ll see that purported evidence after all. Promises, promises.

In the meantime, potential legal jeopardy mounted for the autocratic ex-president and current Republican presidential front-runner. Trump’s co-defendants Sidney Powell and Kenneth Chesebro both pleaded guilty in the Georgia election conspiracy case and agreed to testify against their alleged accomplices, which would include Trump.

Robert F Kennedy Jr Is Destroying Donald Trump’s Election Chances, Poll Says

But an NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist National Poll released on Tuesday offered an early prediction: Biden would beat Trump by 7 percentage points when Kennedy is factored in.

If the election were held today, Biden would snag 44% of the vote to Trump’s 37%, followed by Kennedy’s 16% with 3% undecided, according to the survey.

Kennedy, whose anti-vaccine views appeal to some conservatives, is simply siphoning off more votes from Trump than Biden.

With the political scion on the ballot, Biden loses 5 percentage points among Democrats while Trump loses 10 points among Republicans, according to the poll.

Kennedy, who has received significant air time on Fox News and other conservative outlets, has been denounced by his own family, but come November 2024, he might just end up a darling for Democrats anyway.

“Although it’s always tricky to assess the impact of a third-party candidate, right now Kennedy alters the equation in Biden’s favour,” Lee M Miringoff, director of the Marist College Institute for Public Opinion, said. “What this does speak to, however, is that about one in six voters are looking for another option, especially independents.”

The poll, conducted on October 11 among 1,313 American adults, shows Biden leading Trump by 3 percentage points in a head-to-head contest.
