Trump Seems Very Concerned About The ‘Report Card’ Needed To Get Into Heaven

US President Donald Trump spoke about heaven for a second time this week, this time fretting over the type of “report card” one might need to gain entry through the Pearly Gates.

“People of faith, there’s a feeling, they wanna be good, y’know? They get punished if they’re not good, right?” he told radio host Todd Starnes.

He also said – falsely – that non-religious people have no reason to “be good” since they won’t be punished in an afterlife.

“If you’re not a believer, and you believe you go nowhere, what’s the reason to be good, really?” he said. “There has to be some kind of a report card up there someplace, y’know, like ‘let’s go to heaven, let’s get into heaven.’ It’s sort of a beautiful thing.”

Trump also spoke about getting into heaven earlier in the week – and didn’t seem optimistic about his chances.

“I want to try and get to heaven if possible,” Trump confessed during a Fox News interview. “I’m hearing I’m not doing well. I hear I’m really at the bottom of the totem pole.”

Trump said brokering a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine might seal the deal for him.

“If I can get to heaven, this will be one of the reasons,” he said.

But so far, Trump – who last year said he could end the war in 24 hours – hasn’t had much success.

In the new interview, Trump also claimed religion is “coming back” under his administration.

“Religion’s coming back, and religion brings our country together,” he said. “All religions. A lot of religions. I mean, some I could question, I guess, to be honest with you, a little rough philosophy there. But religion brings our country together and it’s a great thing.”

There’s apparently a bromance brewing in the Capitol, and it involves JD Vance.

“I mean, I have a lot of good friends,” Vance said. “The weird thing is, you say it’s one person and then fundamentally that’s an insult to other people.”

After beating around the bush, Vance named Secretary of State Marco Rubio as someone he’s “very close” to, adding that Rubio is a “great friend” of his. He continued to say that Rubio is doing a “great job” in his current position.

Vance didn’t stop there. He then named Secretary of Defence Pete Hegseth, whom Vance also says is “doing a great job” in his role. Unlike Rubio, Vance and Hegseth’s friendship recently shared a pivotal experience: the two were among those who were booed and heckled during their walk through Union Station, where Vance thanked the National Guard for their service.

“The DC swamp tried to destroy Pete Hegseth, unlike anybody in the administration,” Vance claimed regarding the former Fox News host. “Whenever I see the worst people in the world try to tear a guy down, that makes me think he’s on our side.”

Kayleigh McEnany Counsels Ex-Boss Trump On His Path To Victory Over Biden

Fox News’ Kayleigh McEnany said on Sunday that Donald Trump must adopt a more appeasing tone and choose a fitting running mate to beat President Joe Biden. (Watch the video below.)

McEnany, who’s been accused of telling many lies on Trump’s behalf when she was the former president’s press secretary, praised remarks he made in New Hampshire earlier in the day, saying they were delivered with a “conciliatory tone”.

After GOP rival Ron DeSantis quit the race, the criminally indicted Trump praised the Florida governor’s campaign and said he appreciated his endorsement (as lukewarm as DeSantis’ words may have seemed). He also said he would retire his “Ron DeSanctimonious” nickname.

“That was a conciliatory tone,” McEnany said of Trump’s comments on The Big Weekend Show, which she co-hosts. “That reminds me of his victory speech in Iowa where he praised his opponents, praised his rivals. That’s the kind of tone he will need for the next nine months if he wants to prevail against Joe Biden.”

McEnany suggested Trump’s base will vote for him no matter what, so he has to muster support from other sources ― and that includes voters for his remaining GOP adversary, Nikki Haley.

“I think he [Trump] gets the DeSantis voter both in the primary and the general,” McEnany said. “The DeSantis voter tends to be a traditional conservative person of faith, and that naturally translates to Donald Trump. Where I think his challenge is both here and going forward into a general election, is winning over the Nikki Haley voter, winning over the establishment voter, winning over the independent, which is why I think that vice presidential pick is so important.”

“You must pick someone who helps to bring in that bloc because I believe the conservatives, the base, is going to come home, show up, rain or shine,” she continued. “You need the independent, you need the suburban women. You need that tone.”

A new CNN poll conducted before DeSantis’ departure showed Trump with an 11-point lead over Haley in New Hampshire’s primary on Tuesday. DeSantis pulled in just 6% of the vote.

Trump has said he already decided on a running mate but on Saturday he suggested his choice wasn’t so ironclad. He told Fox News that his selection has a “25% chance” of being the person he actually taps as his potential vice president.

Trump Makes One Big Swerve Away From Iowa Woman’s Question About Faith

Former President Donald Trump dodged what he described as a “great question” on faith during a Fox News town hall held Tuesday in Iowa.

In a new video clip released Friday, a woman is seen asking the 2024 hopeful: “How has your faith grown since you decided in 2015 to run for president? And who has mentored you in your faith journey?”

Trump complimented the question before swerving away from a direct answer. He instead mentioned “heartache and turmoil,” quickly adding that he had a “wonderful life” before his career in politics but also saying he “couldn’t be more glad” with his choices now.

“I’ve made America great. We can do it again,” said Trump, who has previously boasted of “total support” from faith leaders in the state.

“But I’ve gotten to know, because of this, evangelicals. I know so many people and they feel so good about themselves and their family, and they base it on religion,” he said during the town hall.

Trump went on to shift focus to the Catholic faith, claiming that the FBI has made Catholics “the enemy” and questioned how they could vote for a Democrat like President Joe Biden.

“I’ve met some of the finest people that I wouldn’t have had the privilege of meeting if I weren’t president,” he said. “They’re religious leaders, and they really are incredible people.”

Twitter users poked fun at Trump’s rambling answer and asked why he didn’t quote from “Two Corinthians,” referring to a Bible-related gaffe he made in 2016 at the evangelical Liberty University.

At the time, Trump downplayed the mistake as a “small deal,” blaming the president of the Family Research Council for how he’d written notes on what Trump should say.

In the current White House race, Trump currently leads Ron DeSantis by over 30 percentage points in an average of national polls on GOP candidates, according to FiveThirtyEight.

Dominion Settles Defamation Suit With Fox News

Dominion Voting Systems reached a settlement with Fox News on Tuesday in its massive defamation suit against the media giant, the same day the blockbuster trial was expected to begin.

“Without you, the parties would not have been able to resolve their situation,” Delaware Supreme Court Judge Eric M Davis told the jury of 12 people, who were sworn in earlier in the day.

Terms of the settlement were not immediately available, but the decision means Fox will avoid a potentially embarrassing trial and protect Fox Corporation Chair Rupert Murdoch and top Fox News hosts from testifying. The deal will also inoculate the network from legal repercussions linked to the spread of misinformation during and after the 2020 presidential election – at least for now.

The defamation trial had been set to begin Monday but was suddenly delayed on Sunday night, prompting reports Fox News had sought a last-minute settlement. Dominion had previously insisted the company would settle only if Fox issued an apology and admitted to spreading lies on the air.

The settlement protects Fox Corp chair Rupert Murdoch (above) and others at the network from having to testify.

Dominion sued the network for $1.6 billion in damages, claiming Fox News intentionally peddled lies about the 2020 race, including that the company’s voting machines were rigged. Media advocates had expected the landmark case to delve into the spread of misinformation and the intricacies of American libel law, questions that have grown exponentially in recent years.

Fox had argued its actions were protected under the First Amendment and that its hosts had an “absolute right to cover the news”. But a deluge of bombshells appeared in court filings in recent months, demonstrating how senior executives at the network expressed doubt about Donald Trump’s claims of election fraud. In one deposition, Murdoch himself said under oath that several hosts “endorsed” false conspiracy theories, but he moved to distance their comments from the network itself.

Fox faces a separate defamation suit from Smartmatic USA Corp. The voting machine company has sued for $2.7 billion over similar claims to those of Dominion.

A major defamation lawsuit against Fox News has begun – and much is at stake.

Dominion Voting Systems, a voting machine company, has brought a $1.6 billion (£1.29 billion) defamation case against the right-wing network in a trial over the broadcaster’s alleged role in spreading the lie of a stolen 2020 presidential election.

As well as the threat to Fox of eye-watering damages, the six-week trial has potential to pull back the curtain on former US president Donald Trump’s flse claims and how the right-wing TV network operates.

Sworn testimony is expected from Fox’s billionaire founder, Rupert Murdoch, and on-air talent, including Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity.

What is the case?

Denver-based Dominion claims New York-based Fox News and its parent company, Fox Corp, essentially destroyed the voting company’s business and subjected employees to threats by falsely implicating it in a bogus conspiracy to rig the election against Trump.

Dominion says its lawyers sent Fox employees more than 3,600 emails attempting to correct Fox’s reporting on the issue. The company identified 20 specific statements from Fox broadcasts between November 8, 2020, and January 26, 2021, that it says were legally defamatory.

Fox contends that it was reporting newsworthy charges made by supporters of the Republican then-president and is supported legally by libel standards. After a one-day delay that raised the possibility of a last-minute settlement between the litigants, seating of the jury in Delaware took place on Tuesday, with opening statements expected to follow.

What do we know already?

Court documents have already been unsealed by Delaware superior court judge Eric M Davis, and the cache has illuminated the inner workings of the conservative network like never before.

It shows prominent figures at Fox didn’t believe the fraud allegations. Yet in public, Dominion argues, Fox News amplified the conspiracy theories and invited guests such as Trump ally Sydney Powell on air to allege Dominion’s voting systems had switched votes from Trump to Joe Biden, the Democrat who beat Trump to the White House.

Multiple staffers texted and emailed in disbelief as Trump latched onto increasingly tenuous claims of being robbed by voter fraud.

Hannity said in a deposition that he did not believe the fraud claims “for one second” but wanted to give accusers the chance to produce evidence. Hosts Carlson, Hannity and Laura Ingraham mocked Powell for spreading the claims. “This Dominion shit is going to give me a fucking aneurysm,” one Fox producer wrote in a message. “MIND BLOWINGLY NUTS,” wrote Fox Corporation SVP Raj Shah, per court documents.

Murdoch, questioned under oath, agreed the 2020 election was free and fair: “The election was not stolen,” he said.

In one email, Murdoch called Trump’s rhetoric “bullshit and damaging”. After Trump aide Rudy Giuliani gave a disastrous press conference on the conspiracy claims, Murdoch commented: “Really crazy stuff”.

Why did Fox adopt its position?

The court papers have laid out a profound concern at Fox over the impact of its election night call that Biden had beaten Trump in the battleground state of Arizona.

Calling Arizona for Biden was an unpleasant shock to supporters of Trump, including many Fox viewers. Not only were they facing losing the White House, but the news had been delivered to them by a source they could usually expect to advocate for their cause.

Fox got the scoop on the call, but Trump and many Fox viewers began tuning in to rival conservative media outlets such as Newsmax.

Emails and memos released in the case show Fox executives were highly aware of a drop-off in their network’s viewership at the same time that Newsmax was gaining viewers, and the executives viewed that dynamic as a potential threat.

Carlson noted with irritation that the company’s stock price was down. Fox News Network CEO Suzanne Scott wrote in an email to Murdoch about the need to “keep the audience who loves and trusts us”.

What is Fox’s defence?

While Dominion’s case may seem strong, the US Constitution and Supreme Court precedent makes it difficult to prove defamation by a news outlet. Dominion will need to prove “actual malice”, meaning that Fox either knew what it was airing was wrong or acted in reckless disregard for the truth.

Fox says Dominion can’t prove its case, but some First Amendment advocates suggest the voting machine company has a strong argument. Their worry is that a prolonged legal battle would give the Supreme Court a chance to change libel laws that would weaken protection for all the media.

“Dominion’s lawsuit is a political crusade in search of a financial windfall, but the real cost would be cherished First Amendment rights,” Fox said in a statement to HuffPost. “While Dominion has pushed irrelevant and misleading information to generate headlines, Fox News remains steadfast in protecting the rights of a free press, given a verdict for Dominion and its private equity owners would have grave consequences for the entire journalism profession.”

Was there any evidence of election fraud?

Federal and state election officials, exhaustive reviews in multiple battleground states where Trump challenged his loss, and Trump’s attorney general found no widespread fraud that could have changed the outcome of the 2020 election. Nor did they uncover any credible evidence that the vote was tainted. Trump’s allegations of fraud also have been roundly rejected by dozens of courts, including by judges he appointed.

Tucker Carlson Gets Accidentally Owned By His Own Damning On-Screen Graphic

Fox News host Tucker Carlson’s latest rant backfired briefly when a vicious on-screen graphic appeared to refer to him, if only for a moment.

The segment was an attack on Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Mark Milley, who reportedly contacted his counterpart in China in January to reassure him that the U.S. wasn’t about to attack in the final days of Donald Trump’s term.

Carlson has admitted to lying, and Fox News attorneys won a defamation suit by arguing that “any reasonable viewer” should be skeptical of what he says on the air.

The Fox News host has turned to increasingly extremist rhetoric on his show, including anti-vaxxer talking points, misinformation about the coronavirus, conspiracy theories about the Jan. 6 insurrection, and rants against immigrants, with both he and his guests disseminating white nationalist talking points.

Fox News Ripped After Host Lavishes Praise On Kim Jong Un’s Body

North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un showed off what many observers believed was a much slimmer figure at a military parade this week, and at least one Fox News host is thrilled with the apparent transformation.

“He’s fit, he’s fun and he’s fascist!” Rachel Campos-Duffy said on Primetime, mimicking the commentary that might accompany a fashion show. “Take a look at Kim Jong Un flaunting his new tan and slim physique at the North Korean military parade.”

She showed images of the dictator – one of the world’s most infamous human rights abusers – and said “after this photo op, many might start calling him Slim Jong Un.”

Guest Jimmy Failla, a comedian, said he doesn’t buy it.

“He does look good!” Campos-Duffy interrupted. “I’m sorry, he looks better than our president!”

Failla argued it was a body double.

Campos-Duffy delivered her praise of the physique of an actual authoritarian dictator without irony on a show that also featured guests calling President Joe Biden an authoritarian:

Human Rights Watch says North Korea is “among the world’s most repressive countries,” noting:

“A 2014 UN Commission of Inquiry found that the government committed violations amounting to crimes against humanity, including extermination, murder, enslavement, torture, rape, and forced abortions. North Korea operates secret prison camps where presumed government opponents face torture, forced labor, and starvation.”

The US State Department also has a lengthy report detailing the human rights abuses committed by Kim’s regime.

Fox News Host’s Cancel Culture Hypocrisy Exposed In Awkward Supercut Video

Fox News host Pete Hegseth on Wednesday lauded a Florida restaurant that is refusing to serve patrons who support US President Joe Biden.

“She’s expressing a sentiment and speaking for a lot of people,” he said of diner owner Angie Ugarte’s sign demanding that Biden supporters take their business elsewhere.

But when the shoe was on the other foot, he took the opposite view.

Hegseth was livid when Sarah Huckabee Sanders was booted from a Virginia restaurant in 2018 while she was Donald Trump’s press secretary.

“What does it say about the left that they stand in solidarity with a business that kicks out a paying customer just because of their political position?” he said at the time.

On Wednesday, he stood in solidarity with the Florida diner, declared that the ban on Biden supporters was a “guttural scream that I love my country.”

Donald Trump is still struggling with names.

In a Fox News interview with Sean Hannity on Thursday, the former US president claimed he “knocked out 100 percent of the ISIS caliphate” but that a “new ISIS” has formed: “ISIS-X.”

The group operating in Afghanistan, which claimed responsibility for Thursday’s deadly attack in Kabul, is actually ISIS-K, which stands for Islamic State Khorasan.

Khorasan is a historical term for Afghanistan and the surrounding region.

Trump eventually got the name right.

As is his tendency, however, he didn’t admit he botched it, only that he was predicting the future.

“They’ll have an ISIS-X pretty soon, which is gonna be worse than ISIS-K,” he told Hannity.

His critics fired back:

I’m actually watching Trump on Hannity for some reason. It’s a great reminder of what kind of President we should never elect again, and what historical revision looks like.
