Now that the castle gates are closed for another season, fans around the nation will no doubt already be getting withdrawal symptoms.

Fear not, though, because lots Traitors action is coming to our screens in the near future, with plenty of shocking banishings, dramatic missions and betrayals to look forward to.
So, when are we in for the next instalment of The Traitors…?
Has The Traitors UK season 5 been confirmed, and when will it air?
Claudia Winkleman with the cast of The Traitors 2026
Applications opened for the series in November last year, so if you’ve spent the last four weeks telling anyone who’d listen that you’d do a better job than the Traitors and Faithfuls in the castle, now’s your chance to prove it.
Given the last few series’ start date, it’s fair to assume that season five will air on the BBC in early January 2027.
Will there be another season of The Celebrity Traitors?

“Studio Lambert have done an outstanding job as The Celebrity Traitors has well and truly captivated the nation, becoming a bona fide highlight of the year bringing record numbers of people together to enjoy every twist and turn,” Kalpna Patel-Knight, Head of Entertainment at the BBC said about the renewal.
How can I watch international seasons like The Traitors Ireland or The Traitors US?
If you need your Traitors fix before then, though, the very first two episodes of The Traitors Ireland land on BBC iPlayer just hours after the season four finale of the UK franchise. These two episodes will also air on BBC One at 12am on Saturday 24 January.
The Traitors Ireland is hosted by Derry Girls actor Siobhán McSweeney, and sees 24 players try to survive the castle without getting murdered or banished in the hopes of winning €50,000 (around £43,000).

Instead of Ardross Castle in Scotland, The Traitors Ireland is filmed at Slane Castle in County Meath, which is around an hour’s drive north of Dublin.
A fourth season of the Alan Cumming-hosted The Traitors US is expected to arrive on BBC iPlayer later this year, too. Previous seasons of The Traitors US have appeared on iPlayer weeks after their US broadcast finished, with the current series set to come to an end in America at the end of February.

If you can’t wait until then, all three previous series of the American version of the reality show are currently available on iPlayer.
Like Claudia Winkleman, Alan Cumming has become renowned for his fashion choices on The Traitors US

Unlike the British version of The Traitors, the American franchise has included celebrities in every series, although a non-celebrity version has been commissioned for the first time and will film later this year.

The current American celebrity version is a who’s who of famous faces, including Love Island UK’s Maura Higgins, Real Housewives legend Lisa Rinna and Taylor Swift’s soon-to-be mother-in-law Donna Kelce.
And if you haven’t already binged them, there is already a whole host of Traitors content available to watch in the UK, with seasons from the aforementioned US, as well as New Zealand and Australia on BBC iPlayer.
However, keen viewers have noticed a second scroll is sitting beside all the eliminated contestants, which has consistently remained unopened in each episode.
Previous instalments have even lingered on this second piece of paper, hinting that it may have relevance later down the line, leading fans to speculate as to whether another later-season twist or reveal is coming…

Some fans even suspect that every member of the cast is connected to someone else on the show, and that these links will be revealed in the last week of episodes.

Speaking to Metro after her exit aired, first eliminee Judy revealed that there had been a rumour of another family link floating around the castle during filming.
“I think there could be more secret connections,” she teased, claiming that some contestants had suspected that Faraaz and Maz were secretly father and son.
The theory about more secret connections is backed up by the introduction of a “family tree” picture, which has sat at the entrance of the Scottish castle throughout this series.

In this framed image, all the contestants are depicted alongside a Latin phrase which translates as: “The sharpest knives are often handed to the table by faithful servants. Among intimate friends lurk the most secret enemies; take care not to let your confidence become the cause of your downfall and agitation.”
The Traitors continues on Thursday and Friday at 8pm on BBC One.
Last week, it was revealed that Alan had done what four weeks earlier would have been unthinkable and pulled the wool over enough of his fellow players’ eyes to make it all the way to the end of The Celebrity Traitors.

Because of this, he managed to snag the full £87,500 prize pot for his charity, opting to give it all to Neuroblastoma UK, of which he is a patron.
Posting on Instagram after the episode aired, the charity said: “Alan, what a moment. We can’t tell you how grateful we are.
“We’ve adored watching you over the last three weeks; all the more so with that glimmer of hope that if you did well, it might just mean something big for our small charity. And you did it.”

They continued: “As our faithful Patron for nine years, your commitment, compassion, and drive to bring hope to children and families facing this aggressive cancer have been nothing short of transformational. As a small charity with a big mission, you know how much this means to us.
“For many years, we’ve known you to be generous, warm, empathetic, and unfalteringly kind, and we’re so pleased the nation agrees with us on that. Now, we promise to do you proud. Our commitment to you is that through research, we will find better treatments and ultimately a cure for every child facing Neuroblastoma.”

Alan also said: “It’s an absolute privilege to be able to support Neuroblastoma UK, whether it’s raising awareness or funds, I’m so pleased I can use my platform to show how amazing this charity is.”
In one of the series’ more unexpectedly emotional moments, Alan broke down in tears of apparent guilt after it was revealed he’d deceived his fellow players for the duration of the game, to which they offered him assurance and reminded him to think of the charity he was helping.

He later told host Claudia Winkleman that Neuroblastoma UK is a “wonderful children’s cancer charity”, saying: “That money will change lives, thank you. All that lying, all that treachery, it was worth it, wasn’t it?”
After the first instalment of The Celebrity Traitors proved to be the most-watched TV moment of 2025 so far, it’s now been confirmed that a second season will arrive on our screens next year.
During Thursday night’s bumper-length finale, viewers saw the former Chatty Man host manage to pull the wool over the eyes of Nick Mohammed and David Olusoga to make it all the way to the end of the game, nabbing the hefty prize money for himself.
“It feels absolutely amazing to be the first Celebrity Traitors winner,” he enthused. “I mean, who even knew that this would happen? I think I have surprised the nation and, most importantly, I’ve surprised myself. I’m still in shock.”
Reflecting on some of his highlights from the series, Alan named his “favourite moment” as Celia Imrie’s now-infamous fart.

“Everyone goes, ‘oh ain’t it funny when Celia farted?’, but people forget I was chained to her. I couldn’t get away from it,” he quipped.
On his favourite “murder” of the series, Alan continued: “This sounds so weird, but for me, my favourite kill was Lucy. Because I handed it to her on a plate, well, not a plate, in my hand. I handed it to her, it was done face-to-face.

“You know what, I got such a taste for killing, it was nice to see their eyes as I murdered them. What have I become?”
He added: “This whole experience has been mind-blowing, it’s been wonderful, it has changed me as a person, and I’ve absolutely loved it. But you know, all good things must come to an end. And as Shakespeare said, parting is such sweet sorrow…”

The Traitors bosses have finally confirmed the line-up for the show’s first ever celebrity outing.
The 19 contestants on the line-up are:
Now, one question we’ve always had about the proposed Celebrity Traitors is exactly how seriously the famous contestants would be taking the game, if there wasn’t a cash prize on the line.
However, it’s now been revealed that the famous Traitors and Faithfuls will be playing the game in the hopes of winning a share of a potential £100K cash prize for a charity of their choice – all under the watchful (and heavily made up) eye of Claudia Winkleman.
Claudia said: “We’re incredibly lucky these brilliant people have said yes. I’d love to say we’ll take it easy on them and they’ll just wander round the castle and eat toast for a couple of weeks but that would be a lie.”
A specific airdate is yet to be confirmed, although Celebrity Traitors will air on the BBC in the autumn, ahead of the regular series’ return in its usual January timeslot.
Let’s just say it, we all know by now that Linda is the true queen of this year’s series of The Traitors.
Admittedly, her performance as a Faithful isn’t exactly convincing (truth be told, the fact she’s managed to remain unbanished every single day defies logic), but her theatrics and line deliveries have given us some of the season’s most iconic and quotable moments.
Before joining the latest cast of The Traitors, Linda had a whole other career as an opera singer (which might well explain why she has a flair for the dramatic when things are going on in the castle) and we’re happy to report that one fan has managed to dig up one of her old performances from back in the early 1980s.
The clip has already received more than half a million views on TikTok, of which we reckon we’re probably responsible for about a hundred thousand…
All we can say is… enjoy.
The most recent instalment of the Bafta-winning reality show ended on a massive cliffhanger, after Linda and fellow Traitor Minah picked four members of the Faithful group to go head-to-head in a “death game”.
While Anna and Alexander managed to come out on top, the episode ended with one hand left to go, with either Fozia or Leon set to be “murdered” when The Traitors returns later this week.
However, one viewer pointed out that Linda may have once again put herself in the firing line for banishment, thanks to her distinctive penmanship.
The Traitors continues on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday night at 9pm on BBC One.
However, if the star-studded season does end up going ahead, they’ve already got their eye on a few potential contestants.

Speaking to Deadline on the red carpet of the TV Baftas, executive producer Stephen Lambert named Liz Truss as being among his dream contestants.
“She’d be great,” he said of the former prime minister. “It’s very important on that show to be able to tell the truth, and also to not tell the truth. And you know, she would be challenged, possibly.”
Truss wouldn’t be the first British politician to take up residence in the famous Traitors castle, after former speaker John Bercow took part in the show’s American counterpart last year.

Meanwhile, although the team insisted they’re still only “thinking about the possibility of doing” a celebrity spin-off of The Traitors, they were much more upfront about the third season of the regular show, filming for which is currently underway.
“It’s had some amazing twists,” Stephen shared.
“It’s quite hard making season three, because the expectations get bigger and bigger. But fortunately, I think it’s going well. Touch wood.”
“I was reluctant to do the second, and now I’m extra reluctant to do the third,” she shared during an interview on Good Morning Britain. “Like, guys, just leave it! It did OK, leave it. And they just say ‘no’.”

According to unconfirmed reports, the first celebrity series will reportedly film and air in 2025, once season three of the regular version of The Traitors has already been shown.
However, there were more surprises in store for viewers when a heap of other names were seen sitting round the table in the castle as they tried to find the traitors in their midst.

Maddy and Wilf from series one of The Traitors also appeared, with Maddy making a joke of her many mentions about her EastEnders cameo appearance during her original time in the castle as she sat opposite the soap’s former pub landlord Danny.

Dawn rather convincingly took on the role of Claudia, complete with fake tan, eyeliner and a wig with a pull-back fringe.
A host of famous faces – including Jamie Dornan, David Walliams, Miranda Hart and Fleur East – auditioned for Graham Norton, Lulu and Sam Ryder as part of a Eurovision unseen audition clips sketch.
Dermot O’Leary joined the cast from Stath Lets Flats for a sketch that saw him reunite with some of The X Factor’s most famous contestants – including Honey G, Ben Haenow, Stevi Ritchie and Andy Abraham – to produce a charity single.
News broadcasters including Clive Myrie, Kay Burley, Huw Edwards and Naga Munchetty as well as Susanna Reid, Piers Morgan and Richard Madeley also appeared during a sketch which saw the UK’s most serious people telling jokes.

People Just Do Nothing comedian Asim Chaudhry also reprised his role as Chabuddy G to star in a Love Island skit where his character was a bombshell contestant entering the famous villa.
At the end of the live broadcast, the Comic Relief hosts announced that the show had raised £31,952,141 so far.
The Traitors presenter is set to be joined by three celebrity lookalikes (well, three celebs wearing Claudia-inspired wigs) for a special sketch based on the hit BBC reality show for this year’s Red Nose Day.
In the sketch, Claudia will be played by Dawn French who assembles the celebrity ‘Faithful’ and ‘Traitors’ for a discussion full of twists and turns. Joining her will be Mary Berry and Jennifer Saunders.
Viewers will need to tune in to find out which other famous faces will be under the cloaks and who will be revealed as the ultimate Traitor?
The real Claudia Winkleman says: “I can’t wait for people to see this sketch. I’m so grateful to Comic Relief for putting the whole thing together. I feel like I’m in an alternate universe, and I like it.”
Jennifer Saunders joked: “Worst day of my life, I don’t know why I agree to these things. The only reason why I agreed to this one was to meet Mary Berry.”
Dawn French added: “This was the second worst day of my life. The absolute worst one was meeting Jennifer Saunders. The only reason I agreed to this one was to show Claudia Winkleman the horror that awaits her in the mirror in 30 years’ time…”
Richard Curtis, who is behind the sketch, said: “I’m unbelievably excited about this sketch. The Traitors is the most brilliant reality show of all time, and I hope that we can mercilessly tear it apart. There’s a very impressive group of actors who gathered together to destroy the reputation of Claudia Winkleman and the BBC in aid of Comic Relief.”
Comic Relief Night of TV will air on the 17 March, on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
