I’ve been renovating my flat for over a year now and my god have I felt every single one of those 365 days. The flat is 150-years-old and the whole thing has been a full tear-out-and-start-again job – not by choice, fully by necessity. There have been plenty of times over the last year when I’ve walked around it and thought to myself (usually in between quashing the urge to marry rich instead), “Oh my God, why did I start this?”.
