Selena Gomez Cosies Up To Hilarious Meme Of Herself Wrapped In A Blanket

Selena Gomez is proving that she’s pretty comfy making fun of herself.

The photo shows Selena wrapped in a blanket and staring elusively off-camera — giving the snap a somewhat dramatic effect.

On Sunday, the photo was shared by the entertainment account Pop Base on X, formerly known as Twitter, and people’s imaginations went wild.

The photo quickly became a hilarious meme — and it seems Selena enjoyed the jokes.

So much so that she shared two of her favourites on her Instagram Stories on Monday. Here are the two tweets she shared on her account:

And because Selena was not a wet blanket about this sleeper hit of a meme, here are a few more — and they’re anything but a snooze.

Linda Evangelista Shares Sweet Story About Her Son’s Stepmother Salma Hayek

Linda Evangelista might utter the name “Salma Hayek” when asked what she’s grateful for during Thanksgiving.

During an interview with Vogue, Linda opened up about what it was like co-parenting her teenage son, Augustin, with the Oscar nominee. Augustin is the son of the Frida star’s husband, French billionaire François-Henri Pinault.

The supermodel told the magazine that she mostly spends holidays with Salma and François-Henri, but there was one time where she couldn’t partake in the festivities.

“I was sick at Thanksgiving,” she said. “And Salma got on the plane with her daughter, came here, and made Thanksgiving dinner.”

When the Black Mirror actor asked Linda what she wanted to eat, she responded with an “eclectic wish list”.

“I wanted her Mexican chicken with truffled potatoes. And she spent the day in the kitchen and cooked it herself. No help,” she recalled.

“The kids helped her at the end. She made a feast — a beautiful, beautiful meal. I had told her that I wasn’t going to have Thanksgiving; I wasn’t feeling well. And she said, ‘Oh yes you are: I am coming.’ And poof, she was here.”

Linda and her ex dated for four months between 2005 and 2006, and Augustin was born in October later that year, according to People. However it wasn’t until Linda filed court documents in 2011, seeking child support, that confirmed François-Henri was the father.

Salma then married him in 2009, but the two welcomed their daughter, Valentina Paloma Pinault, in 2007.

Linda also told Vogue that she wants her son to have a “normal upbringing” despite his mother’s fame and his father’s vast wealth.

She shared that she and Augustin are both big sports fans, and she would get free tickets to sit courtside at Madison Square Garden, but no longer gets that perk anymore.

“Now we buy our tickets and we sit with the fans in nosebleed — we’re fine with that.”

Augustin, however, seems to miss the VIP treatment. Linda noted that sometimes her son gets annoyed when they have to wait in lines.

“What’s wrong with standing in this line? I stand in lines,” Linda tells her son. “We went to Chanel a couple of weeks ago to get a present and we waited half an hour to get in. He said, ‘Isn’t there someone you could call?’”

But she says she doesn’t relent.

“I do not want an entitled child,” she said.

Jason Momoa Has Five Blunt Words For Tourists Considering A Vacation Amid Maui Fires

A post on Jason Momoa’s Instagram page urged would-be tourists to “NOT TRAVEL TO MAUI” as deadly wildfires devastated the Hawaiian community this week.

The actor, who is of Native Hawaiian descent, passed on the all-caps message to his social media followers on Friday, when the death toll from the island’s massive blazes would rise to 80.

Jason’s post warned that Maui “is not the place to have your vacation right now”.

“Do not convince yourself that your presence is needed on an island that is suffering this deeply,” the message read. “Mahalo to everyone who has donated and shown aloha to the community in this time of need.”

The language in the post, as well as video clips and images it included, appeared to originate from local non-profit organisations including ʻĀina Momona and Kāko’o Haleakalā.

Text on the clips read: “The devastation from the wildfires will have a lasting island-wide impact on Maui’s resources. Our community needs time to heal, grieve & restore. … Do not book a hotel stay. … Survivors are the priority.”

The post went on to suggest ways that people could help with relief efforts amid the wildfires.

Firefighters are continuing to battle the Maui County blazes that have flattened buildings and incinerated vehicles, with residents comparing the damage to “a war zone,” according to The Associated Press.

The wildfires, which burned through most of the historic town Lahaina, have marked Hawaii’s deadliest natural disaster in decades.

Billy Porter Says He’s Being Forced To Sell His House Amid Hollywood Strikes

Billy Porter has revealed he is already feeling the effects of Hollywood being at a standstill amid the writers’ and actors’ strikes.

The Emmy and Tony-winning actor and singer told the Evening Standard last weekend that he’s feeling the pressure to downsize without any substantial income coming in for the foreseeable future.

“I have to sell my house,” he told the publication. “Because we’re on strike. And I don’t know when we’re gonna go back [to work].

“The life of an artist, until you make fuck-you money — which I haven’t made yet — is still check-to-check.”

Though Billy had anticipated working on both a new movie and a television series that had been slated to start in September, he said: “None of that is happening.”

“So to the person who said ‘we’re going to starve them out until they have to sell their apartments,’ you’ve already starved me out,” he added, referring to a much-circulated quote attributed to an unnamed Hollywood studio executive.

Prior to the Hollywood strikes, Billy Porter said he planned to take part in a new film and TV series this September.

Actors have been on strike since 14 July. The Screen Actors Guild — American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) is seeking higher residuals from streaming platforms and stricter safeguards against the use of artificial intelligence, among other updates, from the studios as part of a new contract, but negotiations have stalled.

The Writers Guild of America (WGA), which represents Hollywood screenwriters, has been on strike since May 2. (HuffPost’s unionised employees in the US are represented by the Writers Guild of America, East).

Billy ― a 2019 Emmy winner for his portrayal of Pray Tell on Pose ― was speaking to the Evening Standard to promote his new album, Black Mona Lisa, and was careful not to address specifics of his film and TV work in the interview, according to the stipulations of the strike.

Still, he blasted Disney CEO Bob Iger’s headline-making claims that actors and writers are being “very disruptive” while making demands that are “not realistic”.

“To hear Bob Iger say that our demands for a living wage are unrealistic? While he makes $78,000 a day? I don’t have any words for it, but: fuck you,” Billy said, who is newly single.

“That’s not useful, so I’ve kept my mouth shut. I haven’t engaged because I’m so enraged. I’m glad I’ve been over here. But when I go back I will join the picket lines.”

Beyoncé Pays $100,000 To Keep D.C. Metro Open Late After Concert Weather Delay

After a severe storm thwarted her Renaissance World Tour stop on Sunday night, Beyoncé and her team shelled out $100,000 (around £78,344) to make sure the Beyhive made it home safely.

The singer’s tour paid to keep all 98 Metro stations in the Washington, D.C., area open for an extra hour after the show at the outdoor FedExField was delayed due to heavy rain and lightning, a news release from the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority said.

“Due to inclement weather that may delay the start of tonight’s Renaissance World Tour at FedExField, Metro will extend the last train by an extra hour beyond the extended closing previously announced,” the transit authority said in a statement.

“The additional hour will be funded by the Tour to cover the $100,000 cost to run more trains, keep all 98 stations open for customers to exit, and other operational expenses,” it added.

The thoughtful gesture came hours after fans had to take cover as a precaution because of the storm.

“Due to lightning in the area, we are currently under a shelter in place order,” the stadium wrote in a statement on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“Fans outside of gates and in the parking lots are asked to return to their cars. All fans inside of the stadium are asked to shelter in place under covered concourse areas and ramps until further notice.”

FedExField issued the shelter-in-place warning on social media at 6:40 p.m. The 29-time Grammy winner usually hits the stage just before 9 p.m. local time for her headlining set.

After fans heard word of the Break My Soul singer’s generous efforts, they took to X to gush over her “power”:

While fans waited for the advisory to pass, several people were treated for heat exhaustion and one person was hospitalized, ABC affiliate WJLA reported.

CNN reporter Abby Phillip, who attended the crowded venue that night, said “no one seemed to really know what the plan should be”, which caused a “chaotic” scene inside the stadium.

“It was very uncomfortable…I mean it was pouring rain for a while and there was lightning in the air, so they didn’t want to let to let anyone in and obviously the concert wasn’t going to start, but it was really chaotic and I think that was kind of the experience that I and so many other people had…the chaos and the crowd and the rain and the heat,” Phillip said.

“It was one of those moments where it was a great concert, but that experience was a little bit scary,” Phillip added.

The shelter-in-place order was lifted after fans waited around for nearly two hours, and ticket holders were cleared to return to their seats around 8:25 p.m., according to another post from FedExField.

Bey eventually kicked things off around 10 p.m. as she performed amid the continued rain, according to Setlist.fm.

The star’s Renaissance World Tour is slated to wrap up in September.

Florence Pugh Names Her Unlikely Celebrity Doppelgänger ― And Honestly, She’s Right

You’d never guess who Florence Pugh’s new celebrity doppelgänger is, thanks to her recent hair transformation.

The Oppenheimer actor let fans know via Instagram Stories last week that she now bears a distinct resemblance to a certain Food Network star.

“Sometimes when I get out of the shower I look like Guy Fieri and I love it,” she said, alongside a photo of her blond ’do styled in a fashion similar to the US restaurateur and media personality.

In a separate story, Florence told fans: “Just saying… could be the new mayor of flavour town. Or should I say… ’Flo’ver town.”

Florence debuted her shaved head at the Met Gala in May, accentuating her dramatic new look with a tall, feathered headpiece.

She later showed off a pink buzz cut while attending the Valentino Haute Couture show in Paris in early July. Shortly after, she tinted her hair orange for Oppenheimer’s UK premiere, before changing her hair colour once again, this time platinum blonde.

The 27-year-old told Radio Times last month that she “purposefully chose” her buzz cut, as she “wanted vanity out of the picture”.

“Hollywood is very glamorous ― especially for women ― and it’s hard for an audience to see past that,” she explained.

“Whenever I’ve not needed to be glam or have a full face of makeup, I fight to keep it that way. It helps the audience. Vanity is gone,” she said. “The only thing that people can look at then is your raw face.”

Guy, for his part, didn’t choose his hairstyle himself, at least the way he tells it. Rather, he put his fate in the hands of a friend.

“A friend of mine is a hairdresser, and I had long hair and she would give me a hard time forever about it,” the entertainer told The Wall Street Journal in March. “And one day I said, ‘Fine, do whatever you want.’ She goes, ‘Whatever I want?’”

And thus, his iconic ’do was born.

13 Things You Didn’t Know About Hannah Waddingham, From Showbiz Pals To Weird And Wonderful Roles

From her early days on the West End stage to her Emmy-winning stint as Ted Lasso’s Rebecca to a show-stopping turn as the co-host of this year’s Eurovision ceremony, Hannah Waddingham just keeps going from strength to strength.

With a CV that includes everything from hit musicals to a brief but unforgettable role in HBO’s Game Of Thrones and even a season of ITV’s Benidorm, the multi-talented (and multilingual) Hannah surely has one of the most fascinating CVs in entertainment right now.

We’ve taken a look back at her career – and her life off-screen – to bring you some unexpected facts about the star…

1. She got her start in dinner theatre

One of Hannah’s first roles came at the dinner show Joni And Gina’s Wedding, where audience members are invited to interact with the cast.

Before the audition (for a role described as an “overgrown Barbie doll”), she had been toying with the idea of quitting performing, she later told Esquire. “I was like, ‘if I don’t get this, I think I should just give up,’” she said. She decided to enter the tryout doing an American accent “from the minute I walked in the door” – and was offered the job “on the spot”.

The role was a gamechanger for Hannah, who ended up landing West End roles in shows like Spamalot and Kiss Me Kate afterwards.

2. Hannah kept the Game Of Thrones ‘shame bell’ as a goodbye gift

When Hannah played nun Septa Unella in HBO’s fantasy series, one of her most memorable scenes saw her accompanying a naked Cersei Lannister (played by Lena Headey) through the streets of King’s Landing, clanging a bell and shouting “shame”.

When her time on the show was over, the Game of Thrones team gave her that prop as a keepsake.

“It’s common knowledge that if a show gives you a hero prop, it means your character is truly, really dead,” she told InStyle.”So when [producers] David Benioff and Dan Weiss made a ceremony, and handed it to me on my final scene, I was a little disappointed!”

3. Ted Lasso isn’t Hannah’s first football-related role

Long before Ted Lasso, Hannah had a brief role in Footballers’ Wives, the legendary ITV drama which chronicled the wild exploits at the fictional football club Earls Park, back in 2005. Appearing in just one episode, she played a tennis pro called Jools, the latest love interest for club boss Hazel Bailey.

“I’m going to go out there and say that [Ted Lasso] is 150,000% better,” Hannah said in an interview with AV Club – but we reckon that it’s possible to embrace the merits of both shows. After all, did Ted Lasso have a scene where a WAG’s fake boobs caught fire? Or a Sleeping Beauty-themed wedding, with noted Christmas song Walking In The Air as a musical accompaniment? Thought not.

4. She released a single back in 2000

At the start of the millennium, Hannah starred in Andrew Lloyd Webber and Ben Elton’s West End musical The Beautiful Game, which is set during the Troubles in Belfast in the late 60s, and centres around a group of teenagers in a local football team. She played Christine, the girlfriend of the team’s only Protestant member, Del, and performed the track Our Kind Of Love, which she later released as a single (under the mononym ‘Hannah’).

It eventually reached number 41 in the UK charts – and Lloyd Webber would later recycle the same tune for the song Love Never Dies in the sequel to Phantom Of The Opera.

5. She has a four octave vocal range

Though she has never had formal singing lessons, Hannah’s vocal range is staggering (for comparison, the standard woman’s range spans between two and three octaves).

6. She credits her musical theatre work ethic as the secret to her success

Although her screen roles may have caused her profile to skyrocket, Hannah maintains that “musical theatre has changed my life the most”, thanks to the sheer discipline required to sing, dance and act to a packed auditorium every night.

“The physical dedication I’ve had to build doing musicals – I couldn’t do Ted Lasso or Hocus Pocus [2] without it,” she told InStyle. “Mentally and physically, the stamina and agility you need to keep up with [Jason] Sudeikis and his SNL style of, you know, giving you things in 12 seconds while there’s a camera in your face?… I’ve had to keep my mind and body really strong, and in ‘musical theatre shape’, because it’s so much a tool of my craft.”

7. She’s played the Devil… in a Rod Stewart jukebox musical

Hannah’s CV is nothing but varied. In 2003, she played Satan in the stage musical Tonight’s The Night, belting out various Rod Stewart hits while wearing a black PVC catsuit and a belt embellished with the word ‘Wicked’.

The bizarre plot saw a shy young man make a pact with the devil, giving him the courage to ask out his crush… in exchange for eternal damnation.

8. She’s pals with Michael Bublé
