Football Fan Randomly Scores Facetime With Maya Jama After He’s Pied Off With False Number From Girl On Hols

One not-so-unlucky-in-love football fan got the shock of his life when he facetimed a girl he met on holiday only for the number to belong to an actual celeb.

Luke Worley was on holiday in Kos, Greece when he and his friends met a group of women on a night out and asked one of them for her number.

The 28-year-old then decided to give her a buzz the following day when England played Germany in their Euro 2020 match.

But when Luke dialled the number, instead of the girl he’d met answering, it was TV presenter Maya Jama.

Twitter

He told LADBible: “We were in a bar and we were a bit drunk – we’d been drinking all day, as you can imagine – and we tried calling these girls to see where they are.

“I tried to ring a normal phone call at first through WhatsApp because I was connected to the WiFi in the bar.

“It said ‘Connecting’ and then it just didn’t go through, it just crashed. So I thought I’d try a video call – it rang once, and Maya Jama answered.”

Luke initially thought it was a wind-up, but when Maya was as confused as he ewas, he realised it was a pure fluke.

He continued: “She was like, ‘Who are you?’

“And I was like, ‘Oh, I was calling for Sarah!’”

When the former Radio 1 presenter told him her name, he replied: “I know who you are!”

The pair ended up chatting anyway before the TV presenter – who he said was a “good sport” – got called away.

“We had a conversation, we spoke about the show that she’s doing at the minute with Crouchy – that’s what she was doing, she was getting ready for that,” he said.

“She was really nice about it, she couldn’t have been any better.

“A lot of people in the public eye would have probably just put the phone down or something or blocked my number.”

After the call, Maya tweeted it was “the most random phone call ever”.

And then some.

Davina McCall Deletes Tweet About ‘Stiff’ Princess Diana Statue After Agreeing With Piers Morgan Over Sculpture

Davina McCall appeared to backtrack after criticising the recently unveiled statue of Princess Diana, which she had described as “stiff”.

The sculpture, created by Ian Rank-Broadley, was unveiled by Princes William and Harry at the Sunken Gardens at Kensington Palace on Thursday.

After Piers Morgan tweeted his dislike of the statue, Davina agreed, tweeting: “I really wanted to like it. But somehow… it doesn’t feel very Diana? Her joie de vivre… her radiance, her compassion. It feels stiff.”

Davina has since deleted the tweet, which hasn’t gone unnoticed by Piers.

“Bullied & abused by the woke #BeKind brigade into deleting an honestly-held and entirely accurate opinion. Suffice it to say, I won’t be deleting my statue critique – because it’s true,” he tweeted on Saturday.

Davina and Piers aren’t the only stars who are not fans of the tribute to the late Princess of Wales.

Lorraine Kelly has also let her feelings known, saying she believed it didn’t do Diana “justice”.

“Can I just say, I don’t really like it,” Lorraine said on her daytime show on Friday..

“I’m sorry. I don’t know what you think, but I don’t really like the outfit.”

Lorraine said that she liked the “strength” that the statue gives off, as the late princess “looks very strong”, but added: “I just don’t think it does her justice.

“Of course, it was all about the boys and if they’re happy, then that’s fine,’ Lorraine said of William and Harry.

“Maybe it looks better in real life. I have to reserve judgement until I can see it for myself.”

The bronze statue shows Diana surrounded by three children and is said to be based on the final period of her life as she gained confidence in her role as a humanitarian ambassador.

It aims to convey “her character and compassion”, Kensington Palace said.

William and Harry said in a joint statement on the day: “Today, on what would have been our mother’s 60 birthday, we remember her love, strength and character – qualities that made her a force for good around the world, changing countless lives for the better.

“Every day, we wish she were still with us, and our hope is that this statue will be seen forever as a symbol of her life and her legacy.”

Jennifer Aniston Shares How She Coped With The ‘Tough Stuff’ Of Fame

Jennifer Aniston has been famous for decades, but even she has trouble with some of the gossip, rumours and attention that comes with being in the public eye.

The Friends star has spoken out about what’s helped her cope over the years, telling People magazine that “self-awareness is key” and opening up about therapy in a cover story for the US outlet.

“I’ve really gotten a lot out of therapy. Just being a public person, there’s a lot of amazing things that come with that,” the actor told the magazine.

“But there’s also a lot of tough stuff, because we’re only human, and we tend to walk around with bullseyes on our heads.”

“Sometimes you can’t help family members or people sending stuff over going, ‘What is this? You’re having a baby? Are you getting married?’” Jen said, referencing the constant speculation that surrounds her relationships and private life.

“It’s like, ‘Oh, good gosh, when and how many years will it take for you to ignore that silliness?’”

When Jennifer reunited with her ex-husband, Brad Pitt, for an unexpectedly flirty table read of Fast Times at Ridgemont High for charity last September, it sent fans into a spiral and reignited relationship rumours.

“It was absolutely fun. Brad and I are buddies, we’re friends,” she said on The Howard Stern Show earlier this week

“There’s no oddness at all except for everyone that probably watched it and wanted there to be. We had fun and [the table read] was for a great cause.”

Aniston attends the 77th Annual Golden Globe Awards on in January 2020.

She also clarified that, despite her and David Schwimmer’s admission that they had crushes on each other during the first season of Friends, they really and truly never took things further

“David was great [but] we were in relationships. It was always never the right time, and it wouldn’t have worked,” she told the host, who refused to believe the two hadn’t “consummated” the relationship.

“The beauty of that was, whatever feelings we had, we just literally channelled everything into Ross and Rachel. I think maybe that’s why it resonated.”

“I would proudly say I banged Schwimmer if that happened,” she added with a laugh. “He reminded me of my high school boyfriend, to be quite honest.”

Britney Spears’ Boyfriend Sports ‘Free Britney’ T-Shirt Ahead Of Conservatorship Hearing

Britney Spears’ boyfriend Sam Asghari has shared a photo of himself sporting a “Free Britney” t-shirt ahead of the singer’s latest hearing about the conservatorship she was placed under more than a decade ago.

The chart-topping singer was placed under the legal conservatorship of her father Jamie Spears in 2008, during which time he’s been in charge of various aspects of her daily life, as well as her finances.

On Wednesday, Britney will address a US court about the arrangement, with Sam seemingly showing her some support on Instagram hours beforehand.

In a selfie posted on his Instagram story, he was seen sporting a t-shirt emblazoned with the “Free Britney” slogan, alongside a lion emoji.

The previous night, he shared a motivational speech about lions, which said: “The lion is the king of the jungle. He’s not the biggest, the fastest or the smartest… so how does a lion become the king of the jungle? His mentality.”

Britney has not spoken publicly about the conservatorship since the 2009 MTV documentary Britney: For The Record, but did request last year that her father be replaced as her legal guardian.

Her lawyer told a Los Angeles court that Britney has a fraught relationship with her father, claiming she had also told him “on many occasions” that she is “afraid” of Jamie Spears.

The star’s lawyer added that Britney was refusing to perform as long as her dad was still in charge of her estate.

While Britney has remained tight-lipped on the conservatorship battle, Sam – who was born in Iran – wrote on Instagram in February: “I have zero respect for someone trying to control our relationship and constantly throwing obstacles our way.

“In my opinion Jamie is a total dick. I won’t be going into details because I’ve always respected our privacy but at the same time I didn’t come to this country to not be able to express my opinion and freedom.”

Sarah Paulson Recalls ‘Awkward’ Encounter With Matthew Perry After Carrie Fisher’s Invite To Wild Party

What do you get if you mix Sarah Paulson, Matthew Perry and an invite from Carrie Fisher to a “make out party”? The answer is this somewhat unexpected celebrity anecdote.

The American Horror Story star made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel’s US chat show on Monday, when she recalled what happened when she “hit it off” with the late Star Wars legend, after meeting on a night out in the early days of her career.

After deciding to leave the gathering they were at, they were in their cars when Carrie “rolled down her window and shouted out, ‘Hey, do you want to come to a party?’”

Excitedly accepting the invitation, Sarah later ended up attending what Carrie described as “Gore Vidal’s make out party”, who Jimmy explained was a writer who threw “interesting parties”.

“I didn’t see anyone make out,” Sarah said. “But there was a hat with names in it and you were supposed to make out with whomever you pulled out of the hat.”

Revealing an encounter with a certain Friends star, Sarah continued: “Matthew Perry pulled my name out of the hat… and then promptly left the room.

“I was like, ‘Uh, well let’s kiss!’ and he was like, ‘No,’” she said.

“We knew each other a little bit through one of my very best friends and it was awkward.”

And while they didn’t end up making out at the time, they did lock lips years later when they worked together on Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip

“We ended up playing romantic partners,” she said. “And then I got my kiss. I got several kisses. And boy, did he regret not taking me up on that at Gore Vidal’s make out party.”

Sarah played Harriet Hayes in the US comedy drama, who was the ex-girlfriend of Matthew’s character Matt Albie.

Studio 60 ran for one series from 2006 to 2007, before it was cancelled by NBC.

Joe Wicks Reveals The (Unhealthy) Reason He Won’t Do Strictly Come Dancing

Joe Wicks has shut down the rumours he will be appearing on this year’s Strictly Come Dancing – or any future series of the BBC dance show.

And the Body Coach’s reason for “definitely not” ever appearing isn’t exactly the healthiest of excuses.

In a new interview with Radio Times, Joe explained that he’d need to “steaming” in order to take to the floor.

Joe Wicks

“Publicly dancing on a dance floor, out there and exposed on my own, is my worst fear,” he explains.

“I can only ever really have a dance when I’ve had a drink, so to do Strictly I’d have to be steaming.”

And don’t expect to see Joe on any other non-dancing reality shows either – even though he’s been offered pretty much all of them, including I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! And Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.

“To be honest, I just love being at home with my kids too much,” he says. “Being away for three weeks at a time, I wouldn’t enjoy that experience because I’d be missing them.”

Friends Star James Michael Tyler Shares Stage Four Cancer Diagnosis

Friends star James Michael Tyler has told of how he has stage four cancer.

The actor, who played Central Perk manager Gunther in the hit sitcom, was diagnosed with prostate cancer three years ago, but it has now advanced.

James, 59, opened up about living with the disease during an interview with the Today show in the US on Monday.

“In September 2018, I was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer, which had spread to my bones,” he said.

“I’ve been dealing with that diagnosis for almost the past three years.”

He continued: “It’s stage 4 (now). Late stage cancer. So eventually, you know, it’s gonna probably get me.”

Speaking about his original diagnosis that came during a routine check up, James said: “I was 56 years old at the time, and they screen for PSA, which is prostate-specific antigen. That came back at an extraordinarily high number… So I knew immediately when I went online and I saw the results of my blood test and blood work that there was obviously something quite wrong there.

‘Nearly immediately, my doctor called me and said ‘Hey, I need you to come in tomorrow because I suspect that you may have quite a serious problem with your prostate.’”

James initially underwent hormone therapy to help treat the disease and said he felt “fine” with no symptoms.

However, during the pandemic, his cancer mutated and he is now unable to walk after it further spread to his bones and spine.

“I missed going in for a test, which was not a good thing,” he said. “So the cancer decided to mutate at the time of the pandemic, and so it’s progressed.”

James also said his illness meant he was not able to appear in person during the recent Friends reunion, appearing via video call instead.

“It was my decision not to be a part of that physically and make an appearance on Zoom, basically, because I didn’t wanna bring a downer on it, you know? … I didn’t want to be like, ‘Oh, and by the way, Gunther has cancer,’” he said.

James added that he wishes he’d gone to get checked out by his doctor earlier, and urged others to do the same.

“My goal this past year was to see my 59th birthday, he said. “My goal now is to help save at least one life.”

Cheryl Reveals The Reason Why Fans Might Not See As Much Of Her After Return To Spotlight

Cheryl has only just returned to the spotlight, but fans shouldn’t expect to see as much of her as they did before.

The ex-Girls Aloud singer has said she will not go back to being as busy, as she no longer has the energy to do things that “make her feel stressed or nervous”.

Speaking to Marie Claire, the former X Factor judge said: “I’m not doing that to myself again. I’m only going to do stuff that makes me truly happy.

“I think life falls into place when you focus on that intent. Only happiness. Only authenticity. I won’t spend time on anything that makes me feel stressed or nervous. I haven’t got the energy.”

Cheryl revealed that the pandemic had helped her to learn a “really valuable lesson” in evaluating what is important.

She continued: “It’s not worth it. The pandemic actually taught us that. You speak to people now and they don’t want to go back to their normal lives.

“I think we’ve learnt a really valuable lesson, as horrible and tragic and despicable as it was, and it brought a lot of awareness and self reflection, for the better. It’s about what’s important, and what makes you happy, and what makes you miserable.”

Cheryl, who is a parent to four-year-old son Bear with ex Liam Payne, returned to social media earlier this month after a year-long break, revealing she was working on a new project.

She has since been announced as an ambassador for supplements brand Feel.

Cheryl said that she will not go back to being as busy

Prior to her showbiz break, Cheryl has served as a judge on the The Greatest Dancer, which was axed by the BBC after two series last year.

Her last solo release came in 2019, having previously hit the top spot with singles like Fight For This Love and Call My Name.

Cheryl served as an X Factor judge from 2008 to 2010 and then again from 2014 to 2015.

It had been reported that Simon Cowell was keen to work with Cheryl on the ITV talent show again should it return from its current hiatus in 2022.

Sky News’ Kay Burley Says She Was An ‘Idiot’ Over Covid Rule Breach

She said: “I thought I was Covid-compliant. I wasn’t. I made a mistake.

“I was an idiot and I let myself and my viewers down. I’m sorry for what I did and for any heartache I caused the loyal friends with me at the time.

“I was appropriately sanctioned.”

She added: “I paid for my mistake; quite rightly. My viewers told me how frustrated they were with me and they were right to do so.

“With time, the mood music changed and my viewers wanted me back.”

Burley had celebrated her birthday with a rule-breaking gathering in London in December, while the capital was under Tier 2 restrictions.

The presenter, who has been with Sky News since its inception in 1989, apologised at the time, tweeting: “It doesn’t matter that I thought I was Covid-compliant on a recent social event. The fact is I was wrong, I made a big mistake, and I am sorry.”

Political editor Beth Rigby and north of England correspondent Inzamam Rashid were also taken off air for three months after attending their colleague’s 60th birthday party.

Following an internal review in December, Sky News found that “a small number of staff attended a social event in London” where Covid-19 guidelines were breached.

It said: “All those involved regret the incident and have apologised. Everyone at Sky News is expected to comply with the rules and the company takes breaches like this very seriously indeed.”

Burley returned to her breakfast slot on Sky News earlier this month.
