Lorraine Kelly Has A Prediction About Piers Morgan And Good Morning Britain

Lorraine Kelly has said she has “no doubt” Piers Morgan will be back on Good Morning Britain.

The ITV presenter has spoken out amid speculation Piers could return to the channel’s breakfast show after making an abrupt exit earlier this year.

Speaking to The Sun, Lorraine said: “He will be back in some shape or form, I have no doubt. I know nothing, but never count him out of anything.

Piers Morgan on what would prove to be his penultimate episode of Good Morning Britain in March

Despite Piers’ controversial public profile, Lorraine maintains he is actually a big softie.

She said: “I have a lot of time for him. He’s very kind to me. He goes crazy when I say this – he doesn’t like me doing it – but he’s actually a really nice guy.

“He says to me ‘will you stop saying that I’m a nice person because it’s very bad for my brand’. That makes me want to do it even more!”

Sky News’ Kay Burley Says She Was An ‘Idiot’ Over Covid Rule Breach

She said: “I thought I was Covid-compliant. I wasn’t. I made a mistake.

“I was an idiot and I let myself and my viewers down. I’m sorry for what I did and for any heartache I caused the loyal friends with me at the time.

“I was appropriately sanctioned.”

She added: “I paid for my mistake; quite rightly. My viewers told me how frustrated they were with me and they were right to do so.

“With time, the mood music changed and my viewers wanted me back.”

Burley had celebrated her birthday with a rule-breaking gathering in London in December, while the capital was under Tier 2 restrictions.

The presenter, who has been with Sky News since its inception in 1989, apologised at the time, tweeting: “It doesn’t matter that I thought I was Covid-compliant on a recent social event. The fact is I was wrong, I made a big mistake, and I am sorry.”

Political editor Beth Rigby and north of England correspondent Inzamam Rashid were also taken off air for three months after attending their colleague’s 60th birthday party.

Following an internal review in December, Sky News found that “a small number of staff attended a social event in London” where Covid-19 guidelines were breached.

It said: “All those involved regret the incident and have apologised. Everyone at Sky News is expected to comply with the rules and the company takes breaches like this very seriously indeed.”

Burley returned to her breakfast slot on Sky News earlier this month.

GB News’ Simon McCoy Addresses ‘Idiot’ Trolls Trying To Prank Show: ‘Grow Up’

GB News presenter Simon McCoy has urged trolls texting into the fledgling broadcaster as a prank to “grow up”.

Since its launch over the weekend, a number of GB News presenters have been tricked into reading out texts from viewers with names like “Mike Hunt” and “Mike Oxlong”.

And it would appear that former BBC News anchor Simon has had enough of it.

Taking the moment to address viewers during his show on Wednesday afternoon, he began: “I’m just going to say something because if you’ve seen the papers, if you’ve seen Twitter, some people think it’s really funny to send in texts and messages on the basis that if we read them out we’ve been had.

“And you’re still doing it, and I’m watching them, and it doesn’t help anybody.”

Co-host Alex Phillips then offered: “We’re just not going to read surnames from now on.

“Well,” Simon continued. “So, to the person that’s just messaged in… grow up!

“We’re a new company, we’re a new broadcaster, there are systems that we’re putting in place that would stop idiots like you getting through. They’re getting through at the minute but… please? We’ve got other things to worry about.”

“Come on, now,” Alex agreed.

Referring to the show’s repeated technical issues, Simon then joked: “Mind you if you can hear us, that’s an improvement. All of you with serious views, we still welcome them.”

Unfortunately, this was then immediately followed by… another of the aforementioned technical issues that have blighted the channel for the past few days.

Janette announced the news on Thursday’s edition of The One Show, revealing: “It’s a dream come true to become part of the It Takes Two team! Although it’s impossible to fill in the shoes of a legend like Zoe Ball, I hope to make her and all of the Strictly fans proud.”

She added: “I will miss dancing on that iconic dancefloor weekly, but forever grateful to continue being a part of the Strictly Come Dancing family!”

Janette will be joining current It Takes Two presenter Rylan Clark-Neal – who first began co-hosting with Zoe in 2019 – on this year’s series.

Zoe Ball will not be returning to It Takes Two after 10 years with the spin-off show

During her time on Strictly, Janette has been partnered with fashion designer Julien Macdonald, EastEnders legend Jake Wood, singer Peter Andre, broadcaster Melvin Odoom, JLS star Aston Merrygold, This Morning’s Ranj Singh, Paralympian Will Bayley and pop star HRVY.

Although she’s never lifted the Glitterball trophy, she has won the Strictly Christmas special on two occasions – with Melvin and Aston – and made it to last year’s final with HRVY.

Strictly Come Dancing is expected to return to our screens in the autumn for a full 13-week run, after last year’s series had to be cut short due to the pandemic.

Janette is married to Strictly pro Aljaž Škorjanec, who will remain with the show in 2021.

Piers Morgan’s Wife Admits She Used To ‘Bitch’ About Him With Susanna Reid Behind His Back

Piers Morgan’s wife Celia Walden has admitted that she used to “bitch” about her husband with his former Good Morning Britain co-host Susanna Reid.

Celia also revealed that she thinks Susanna – who was often described as Piers’ ‘long-suffering on-screen wife’ – did “the whole wife thing” better than her because she knew how to “manage” the divisive presenter.

Speaking to The Sun, Celia revealed: “We used to bitch about him behind his back together. In fact, I always felt she was better at the whole ‘wife’ thing than me. She was very good at managing him.”

Celia, who married Piers in 2010, also revealed what it was like living with Piers since he was axed from his job on GMB.

“Well, I always think of that famous quote, ‘Behind every great man, there’s a woman rolling her eyes’ — I am that woman,” she said.

“Being married to Piers is basically one very long eye roll. But what people don’t realise about Piers is that he’s usually very quiet at home because he’s exhausted himself on whatever interview he’s been doing.

“This is the only reason I am sad about him leaving GMB — well, that and the fact I wake up and there he is, staring back at me morning after morning.

“But really, he used to come back and by 9am was absolutely flattened, lying there on the sofa, catatonic, not bothering anyone.”

She added: “Unfortunately he’s got all his energy back now. Please, someone, just give him a job!

“But what’s extraordinary is that before it really was that Marmite thing with him — a split between those who loved or loathed him.

“But recently the attention has been 99.9 per cent positive. It’s been like walking around with a national treasure. Very odd.”

The Masked Dancer: Knickerbocker And Frog Are Unmasked In Latest Elimination

The identities of Knickerbocker and Frog have been revealed in The Masked Dancer’s latest elimination.

Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood was revealed to be Knickerbocker, whilst model and presenter Kelly Brook was disguised as Frog in Friday’s semi-final.

Squirrel, Carwash, Scarecrow and Zip will compete in Saturday’s final.

Panellist Oti Mabuse successfully guessed the identity of her fellow Strictly star Craig and model and actress Brook.

After taking off his mask, Craig said: “I’m so pleased, I have got to say that I did this because I think it’s sort of good for me as a judge, and as a mean and harsh one, to actually come up and try it myself.”

He said he was “extremely nervous”, adding he wanted to “prove to myself that I had the guts to do something like this and it did feel like being back when I was 23 again”.

After having her identity revealed, Kelly said: “Well I have always loved dancing but I’ve not danced for years, so I have been patting myself on the back and going, ‘I did that’.

“It’s just been the best experience ever.”

The ITV show is a spin-off from hit series The Masked Singer and sees celebrities perform routines disguised in elaborate costumes as the panel of Jonathan Ross, Mabuse, Davina McCall and Mo Gilligan try to guess their identities.

Comedian John Bishop also appeared in Friday’s episode as a guest panellist.

Thursday’s episode saw Radio 2 breakfast host Zoe Ball and former ice skater Christopher Dean unmasked as Llama and Beagle respectively.

Former ski jumper Eddie ‘the Eagle’ Edwards, burlesque star Dita Von Teese, singer Louise Redknapp and Diversity dancer Jordan Banjo have previously had their identities revealed on the programme.

The Masked Dancer final will air on Saturday on ITV at 7.30pm.

Martin Sheen Rips Trump With A Critique That Could Be Right Out Of The West Wing

Actor Martin Sheen described ex-President Donald Trump as a selfish “hustler” and a “bum” the country needs to shake off.

Sheen, who played fictional President Josiah Bartlet on the long-running TV series The West Wing, told Forbes’ Jeff Conway in an interview this week that Americans have to “see through this fog of deception, divisiveness” that defined the Trump era.

And in a line that could have come straight from his hit series, Sheen added: “I think we’ve forgotten something that is a deep part of our humanity and that is that we serve ourselves best when we serve others first.”

Martin Sheen and donald Trump

Republicans and Democrats have traded power in Washington for years, but not with the degree of selfishness or dishonesty displayed by Trump and his enablers, noted Sheen, a lifelong Democrat.

“This has been a colossal error in our character, this Trump administration and the fact that he will not man up and step forward and say that he has lied about it and that he has used it, and he’s hurt the country and all of his followers,” said Sheen.

Trump “has led the country in such a desperate way, of selfishness and lies, and we’ve got to shake this guy off. This guy does not deserve that much attention,” he continued.

Instead, Sheen said, Trump “deserves a lot of pity, and we’ve got to call this bum out to be what he is. To stand up, be a man, and say it’s all a lie, and show some respect and love for the country.”

Line Of Duty’s Owen Teale Issues Plea To Creator Jed Mercurio Over Unanswered Osborne Questions

Warning! This article contains Line Of Duty spoilers of the highest order.

Line Of Duty star Owen Teale has called on creator Jed Mercurio to write more episodes so he can “sort out” his character Chief Constable Philip Osborne

A number of questions still remain about the Central Police boss, despite him not being unmasked as the so-called “fourth man” in last month’s divisive series finale.

While DSU Ian Buckells was unveiled as the “bent copper” acting as the OCG’s fixer, Owen is also convinced there is more to be explored with Osborne.

BBC

Owen Teale as Chief Constable Philip Osborne

Speaking to Wales Online, he said: “They say the whole story is finished, I’m not sure if it is you know.

“There’s a hell of a lot of people in shops and in the street [saying], ‘No no [Ian Buckells is] not H. There’s no way he had that power over AC-12 over six series, it’s because he’s the fall guy. Your character is number one!’”

He continued: “I agree with them and I want to know if Jed Mercurio is going to do something about it. Sort out Osbourne!”

Osborne was introduced back in series one, when he was the leader of the Counter Terrorism Unit that DI Steve Arnott was working on at the time, and instructed his officers to lie about what happened in the killing of Karim Ali.

In series six, it was also revealed that Osborne was previously on the same team as corrupt officers Ian Buckells and Marcus Thurwell on the Lawrence Christopher murder case, suggesting he was also involved in the obstruction into the investigation.

There are also questions as to whether he colluded in the murder of journalist Gail Vella, who had established police failings and OCG links to the Lawrence Christopher investigation prior to her death.

At the end of the series, fans learned that “close colleagues” of the Chief Constable had been appointed to senior positions in anti-corruption, following his cuts to the departments.

BBC

A number of questions about Osborne remain unanswered

Jed Mercurio previously revealed there’s potential to explore Osborne, should Line Of Duty return for a seventh series.

Speaking to Den Of Geek, he said: ”[Osborne]’s someone who retains high office who is an outright liar and has been involved in corruption in the past in terms of the Karim Ali case and the Lawrence Christopher case.

“Clearly there would be potential there if we wanted to explore it, but it’s too early to say whether we ever would.”

The entire Line Of Duty boxset is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.

Ian Hislop Savages ‘Idiot’ Dominic Cummings In Brutal Have Got News For You Take Down

Ian Hislop did not hold back about what he thought of Dominic Cummings’ appearance at the Commons Select Committee on Friday night’s Have I Got News For You.

The team captain blasted Boris Johnson’s former chief advisor in a savage take down following the seven hour hearing in which he made explosive claims about the PM and the government’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic.

Ian described Cummings’ appearance as “one of the most disgusting performances in public life.”

Other captain Paul Merton said: “Dominic Cummings has been giving evidence, Seven hours’ worth I believe. He made lots of powerful statements and somebody’s lying, somewhere in the middle of all this. Not everybody is telling the truth.

’He’s made various accusations and Boris and Matt Hancock have denied them.”

Ian – who was joined by David Mitchell – joked: “It’s good that we’ve got David on tonight, because it’s an episode of Would I Lie To You?’, and the answer is, for everyone… yes they did.”

He continued: “He said ‘Boris Johnson is not fit to be Prime Minister.’ Of course he isn’t, he appointed you! That doesn’t take eight hours, does it?

“He did that classic thing at the start of saying it’s all everybody else’s fault. Would you believe it?

“The government has really handled this very badly… if only there’d been someone at the heart of government who could have said ‘this whole thing is going wrong.’ Maybe an advisor… maybe a senior advisor…

“It was one of the most disgusting performances in public life that I can remember.”

BBC/Getty

(L-R) Ian Hislop and Dominic Cummings

David then asked: “Assuming we can believe a word the devious bastard says, who is to blame for everything?”

Ian replied: “The Prime Minister is to blame for everything, and the Prime Minister should never have become Prime Minister. Except, this is the man who almost single-handedly worked to make him Prime Minister.

“It’s absolutely extraordinary that he only noticed that the Prime Minister was utterly useless when he was sacked.

“It just didn’t occur to him the whole time he was on board with the project, and then suddenly, ‘Oh my goodness, I’ve suddenly realised… you’re an idiot, and so am I’”.

Have I Got News For You continues on BBC One at 9.00pm tonight, guest hosted by David Mitchell.
