Venus Williams Has Perfect Response To Tennis Reporter’s Ridiculous Question

Venus and Jamie, who wrapped up a second round victory in the tournament’s mixed doubles bracket, were hit with the question during a post-match press conference on Saturday.

The reporter, in a clip shared by BBC Sport, asked if the two were “in it to win it” at the tournament.

“Or is it the first target just to get past the third round where Serena and Andy came a cropper.” the reporter asked.

The question comes after the pair’s success at the Grand Slam tennis tournament over the years. Venus has won five singles titles and six doubles titles at the tournament while Jamie has taken home two mixed doubles titles.

“What kind of question is that,” Venus responded as she turned to Jamie to laugh.

“We’re in it for a stroll. Come on.”

The tennis player later asked the reporter if they were going to “write a good article or just a halfway decent one” about the pair.

Adele Says ‘Brutal’ Reaction To Vegas Residency Postponement Left Her ‘A Shell Of A Person’

Adele has said she was left “a shell of a person” after the “brutal” reaction to her postponing her Las Vegas residency.

The singer was due to perform a series of shows from January to April this year at Caesars Palace but they were cancelled at the 11th hour.

Adele shared a tearful video message on social media, in which she explained her show wasn’t “ready”, citing saying delivery delays and Covid sweeping through her crew.

Appearing on BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs, Adele said she had “definitely felt everyone’s disappointment” and had been “devastated”.

She told host Lauren Laverne: “I was frightened about letting them down and I thought I could pull it together and make it work, and I couldn’t.

“I stand by that decision. I don’t think any other artist would have done what I did, and I think that is why it was such a massive, massive story.

“It was like, ‘I don’t care’ and things like that. You can’t buy me. You can’t buy me for nothing. I’m not going to just do a show because I have to or because people are going to be let down or because we are going to lose loads of money. I’m like, ‘The show is not good enough’.

“Of course I could be someone on TikTok or Instagram Live every day being like, ‘I am working on it’. Of course I am working on it! I’m not going to update you if I haven’t got anything to update you with, because that just leads to more disappointment.

“Maybe that’s not been well balanced either… Maybe my silence has been deadly. I don’t know.

“But it was horrible and the reaction was brutal. I was a shell of a person for a couple of months.”

Asked how she dealt with the fall-out from the announcement, Adele added: “I just had to wait it out and just grieve it. Just grieve the shows and get over the guilt. But it was brutal.”

In an interview on The Graham Norton Show in February, Adele said she is “working her arse off” to reschedule the dates, and that it will “100% happen this year”.

Harry Styles Delivers Powerful Speech To LGBTQ+ Fans In Oslo Following Shooting At Gay Bar

Harry Styles delivered a powerful speech to LGBTQ+ fans at a gig in Oslo, following the shootings in the city ahead of its Pride celebrations last month.

Taking to the stage in the Norwegian capital on Friday night, the singer expressed his sorrow after two people were killed and more than 20 wounded in the attack.

A gunman opened fire in three locations in the city’s nightlife district, including at the London Pub gay bar, in the early hours of last Saturday morning.

Zaniar Matapour was later arrested and held on suspicion of murder, attempted murder and terrorism after what the Norwegian security service called an “Islamist terror act”.

Harry addressed the shootings during his show at the Telenor Arena, and was seen holding a rainbow flag above his head as he said: “I am well aware that, right now, this means more to you than it ever has before.

“I just want to tell you that I’m very sorry and I hope you all feel safe in here with each other.”

He continued: “The thing that I am most proud of in my life is getting to play in front of such an incredible, loving group of people every night. It is an honour, I thank you so much. The atmosphere that you’ve created here, allowing people to feel safe and to be themselves, and I know that in difficult times, it is hard to feel like you can make a difference, and I promise you that each and every single one of you can make a difference by the small choices, the tiny choices that you make every day to be that little bit kinder to someone, to do that little bit extra for someone – it makes the difference.

“There are old people, and I promise you that they don’t stand a chance against you because this room of people, you are the future. I love you so much, I thank you for allowing me to do this.

He added: “I encourage you, even in the darkest times, to love more, to give more, to embrace more, be kind more, and I promise you it makes a difference.”

The suspect in the fatal attack is currently being held in pre-trial detention after refusing to explain his actions to investigators.

Anne Hathaway Marks Devil Wears Prada Anniversary To Call Out Overturning Of US Abortion Rights

Anne Hathaway has marked the 16th anniversary of The Devil Wears Prada to speak out about the US Supreme Court’s decision to overturn the abortion rights of American women.

Last Friday, five of the nine Supreme Court judges overturned Roe v Wade, the 50-year-old landmark legislation which enshrined the right to an abortion across America.

In an Instagram post shared on Thursday – the 16th anniversary of the film Anne starred in opposite Meryl Streep – Anne used it as an opportunity to comment on the ruling.

“Happy Anniversary to #TheDevilWearsPrada,” she captioned a series of stills from the 2006 film.

“Looking back on photos of this beloved film that shaped the lives and careers of so many—mine included—I am struck by the fact that the young female characters in this movie built their lives and careers in a country that honored their right to have choice over their own reproductive health.

“See you in the fight,” she added.

Victoria Beckham Calls Out Chris Evans For Weighing Her On Live TV In The 90s

Victoria Beckham has recalled being weighed on live television by Chris Evans in the late 90s, asking: “Can you imagine doing that nowadays?”

The former Spice Girl ended up on the scales during an episode of TFI Friday in 1999, just two months after she gave birth to her first child, Brooklyn.

At the time, the Virgin Radio host told her: “A lot of girls want to know, because you look fantastic again, how did you get back to your shape after birth?”

After she replied that she hadn’t been to the gym at all, the host asked: “Is your weight back to normal?”

When Victoria said it was, he then asked: “Can I check, do you mind?”, before getting her to step on to some scales and remarking: “Eight stone’s not bad at all, is it?”

Recalling the moment in a forthcoming interview with Vogue Australia via The Australian, Victoria said: “I went on a TV show with Chris Evans many years ago and I’d just had Brooklyn and lost a lot of weight after.

“It happened to my mum after her pregnancies. It doesn’t mean you have an eating disorder. And he made me stand on the scales to be weighed. Can you imagine doing that nowadays?”

Reps for Chris Evans have been contacted for comment.

Victoria went on to talk about the media’s obsession with her weight and the sort of headlines and stories she’s been subjected to during her career.

“I’ve had ‘Porky Posh’, I’ve had ‘Skeletal Posh’,” she said. “After I had Brooklyn, there was a picture pointing to every single part of my body where I had to focus on losing the weight from.”

Chris Evans recently announced that he planned to bring back TFI Friday later this year.
