We wouldn’t expect anything less from the woman who played Serena van der Woodsen on Gossip Girl — a character who not only was fashion forward but also spent a lot of time on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
There has been a certain theory swirling around the internet about Blake Lively’s outfits at the Met Gala over the years — and learning it will further affirm her keen eye for pleasing aesthetics (which was already clear because, well, Ryan Reynolds).
As one Twitter user pointed out Monday night during the 2022 Met Gala, the actor has a tendency to match her outfit to the event’s red carpet.
So, let’s take a look and see if this theory rings true, shall we?

Here’s her outfit from the 2016 Gala:

And here’s another number from 2017:

Her 2018 dress seems to compliment the patterns on the red carpet:

And her 2022 Met Gala gown seemed to follow the same theme:
<img class="img-sized__img portrait" loading="lazy" alt="The theme for 2022 — "In America: An Anthology of Fashion" — had a dress code of "gilded glamour."” width=”719″ height=”1080″ src=”https://www.wellnessmaster.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/most-of-blake-livelys-met-gala-looks-share-a-satisfying-but-overlooked-detail-8.jpg”>

If the coordination is intentional, it’s unclear how Blake could pull it off — though she was a co-host at the 2022 event, which may explain her getting some intel.
According to a piece in Curbedabout the history of the gala’s literal red carpet, more work goes into its design than one would think.

Phillip Bland, a decorative artist on Long Island who came into the job seven years ago after working with Anna Wintour on her various homes, is responsible for painting it. And although he’s one of the first people to know the gala’s theme each year, he implied that most celebrities are unaware of his final design.
“My hope is when the final design comes out, it doesn’t clash too much,” the designer says of the stars walking the carpet.
“If someone spent all this money on this beautiful dress and all of a sudden they get out there — I’m sure they don’t know what the carpet is gonna look like.”
Mm-hmm, sure. So we’re starting a new internet theory — that Blake’s got Phillip’s number in her contacts.
As she picked up the envelope, Wilde asked, “Is this for me?”
Turns out it was.

Deadline is reporting that the mystery envelope, which was marked “personal and confidential,” held custody papers from actor Jason Sudeikis, Wilde’s ex-boyfriend and the father of her two children.
Despite the awkward situation, witnesses said Wilde handled the situation like a pro and continued to talk up her film to the audience, which was mostly theatre exhibitors.

It is unknown how the person serving the papers got into the event, but CinemaCon official Mitch Neuhauser told Variety that security protocols are going to be reevaluated in light of the incident.
An unnamed representative of Sudeikis told HuffPost that the papers were drawn up to “establish jurisdiction relating to the children of Ms. Wilde and Mr. Sudeikis,” but said the actor had nothing to do with how and when the papers were served.
″Mr. Sudeikis had no prior knowledge of the time or place that the envelope would have been delivered as this would solely be up to the process service company involved and he would never condone her being served in such an inappropriate manner,” the representative said in a statement Wednesday.
Sudeikis told GQ last July that figuring out exactly what went wrong in the relationship was going to take him a while.
“I’ll have a better understanding of why in a year,” Sudeikis said. “And an even better one in two, and an even greater one in five, and it’ll go from being, you know, a book of my life to becoming a chapter to a paragraph to a line to a word to a doodle.”
With her infectious laugh, naughty sense of humour and incredible interview style that can have even the most notoriously difficult A-listers in stitches, Alison Hammond is a real one-off.
In recent years, her fame has skyrocketed after a much-deserved promotion to one of the main hosts on This Morning alongside Dermot O’Leary, as well as her role on the BBC’s I Can See Your Voice, which has even seen her nominated for a Bafta.
In fact, we’d go as far to say that she’s basically now the best thing about British telly – and here are 25 clips that prove it…

Actor and comedian Jim Carrey recently hinted that he plans to step away soon from his Hollywood career.
In an “Access Hollywood” interview that aired Thursday, Carrey said he’s strongly considering retirement. “Well, I’m retiring,” he told host Kit Hoover. “Yeah, probably. I’m being fairly serious. It depends, it depends. If the angels bring some sort of script that’s written in gold ink that says to me that it’s going to be really important for people to see, I might continue down the road. But I’m taking a break.”

Carrey has earned praise ― and, at times, stirred controversy ― as a visual artist in recent years. He said he’d like to focus more extensively on his work in that realm moving forward, but didn’t give an exact idea of when that might happen.
“I really like my quiet life,” he said. “I really love putting paint on canvas, and I really love my spiritual life. And I feel like ― and this is something you might never hear another celebrity say as long as time exists ― I have enough. I’ve done enough. I am enough.”

HuffPost reached out to a representative for Carrey for clarification on his remarks, but did not immediately hear back.

Carrey made his screen debut in the 1981 Canadian comedy “Rubberface,” but his big Hollywood break came 13 years later in “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective.”
He later garnered critical acclaim for more dramatic fare like 1998’s “The Truman Show” and 2004’s “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,” the latter of which co-starred Kate Winslet.
Elsewhere in his “Access Hollywood” interview, Carrey suggested he could be coaxed back to the screen by none other than Dolly Parton, who has said she’d like him to portray her musical partner, Porter Wagoner, in a forthcoming biopic about her life.
“I would always speak to Dolly,” he told Hoover. “Dolly’s just, to me, an otherworldly talent that is just bigger than you can imagine.”

For now, Carrey fans can get their fill of the actor as Dr. Ivo “Eggman” Robotnik in “Sonic the Hedgehog 2,” which opens in theaters next week.
Comedian Ricky Gervais, known for burning celebrities as a frequent host of the Golden Globes, said he would not have joked about Jada Pinkett Smith’s bald head at the Oscars. So Will Smith’s slap of Chris Rock would not have happened, he concluded.
“I’ll get it out of the way,” he said at a show in London, per the Mirror. “I have not got any Will Smith material. I trended when that happened, and I was not even there.”

“What has it got to do with me? People were going, ‘What would have happened if Ricky Gervais had been doing it [presenting an Oscar award)]?’” he continued. “Well, nothing, as I would not have made a joke about his wife’s hair. I would have made a joke about her boyfriend.”
Gervais was referring to Jada Pinkett Smith’s “entanglement” with rapper August Alsina, which she revealed in 2020. While Will Smith hinted last year that he and his wife had an open marriage, the couple said they were separated at the time of Jada Pinkett Smith’s dalliance with Alsina.
Gervais, however, is no stranger to jokes about alopecia, Jada Pinkett Smith’s hair loss condition. At the Oscars on Sunday, Rock made a “G.I. Jane” dig about it and an offended Will Smith hit him in the face onstage in a stunning TV moment.
Gervais joked at his recent show that he might change his tour name from “Armageddon” to “Alopecia,” the Mirror reported.

After the Oscars incident, the comedian also shared a cringe-worthy tweet of his character from “The Office” making fun of people with alopecia.
Gervais could be considered somewhat of an expert on dishing out political incorrectness to a celebrity crowd. Watch him eviscerate Hollywood during his fifth Golden Globes hosting gig.
The singer spoke to fans while onstage at a stop on his Justice World Tour in Denver on Wednesday night. After a power outage struck the event, Bieber talked about how life “randomly throws you curveballs.”
“Most of you probably know, or seen, the news about my wife … she’s OK, she’s good, she’s strong,” he said, according to video posted on Twitter. “But it’s been scary … It’s been really scary. But I know for a fact that God has her in the palm of his hands.”
In a statement posted to her Instagram Story on Saturday, Hailey Bieber announced that she had suffered a “very small blood clot” to her brain.
She said she had begun experiencing “stroke like symptoms” while having breakfast with her husband on March 10.
“They found I had suffered a very small blood clot to my brain, which caused a small lack of oxygen, but my body had passed it on its own and I recovered completely within a few hours,” she wrote in the statement, adding it was one of the “scariest moments I’ve ever been through.”
The model noted that she had since returned home and was doing well.
Justin and Hailey Bieber wed in 2018. The Grammy winner told GQ last year that getting married was his “calling.”
He also shared that while their first year of marriage was “really tough,” they had since worked on building memories together as a couple, and that he now has someone to “pour into.”
Dame Joan Collins has laughed off a recent incident that saw her being “pelted” with a bread roll while out for dinner.
The showbiz legend has revealed she was at an event at the private members’ club the Chelsea Art Club earlier this year when the incident took place.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, the Dynasty star explained she’d been enjoying a “private dinner” in honour of her former PR Stella Wilson’s birthday when she was accosted by a fellow guest.
“A drunken diner who inappropriately wanted to sit with us got upset and threw a hard bread roll at me,” Dame Joan explained, joking: “And she didn’t even have the decency to follow it up with the butter.”
Stella told the tabloid that the star and her husband Percy left shortly after the incident.
She explained: “I was disappointed she had to miss the rest of my birthday but I completely understood why she left. I would have walked out too.
“Thank goodness it was only a bread roll. That was the frightening part of it.”
After celebrating the 70th anniversary of her big-screen debut last year, Dame Joan has two big projects coming in 2022, including an appearance in the musical Tomorrow Morning and the comedy The Gentle Sex.
She received a damehood for her services to charity in 2015.

The Shape Of You singer said he had spoken to Shane on the phone this week to mark the first anniversary of the death of music mogul Michael Gudinski, with both of them raising a glass in his honour.
Ed shared a photo of Shane and Michael together on Instagram and wrote: “The world keeps taking incredible people away.

“I spoke to Shane on the anniversary of Michael’s passing this week saying we were both raising a glass of 707 in his honour, and now this news comes out.
“Shane was the kindest heart, and always went above and beyond to make people feel welcome and special. Such a gentleman.

“He gave so many hours and years of his life to bring joy to others, and was such an amazing friend to me. Il bloody miss you mate. Absolutely gutted.”
Many celebrity friends of the cricketer have also paid tribute, recalling fond memories and remembering him as a “true cricket legend”.
Rolling Stones frontman Sir Mick Jagger shared a black and white photo of Warne to Twitter while recalling his cricketing talent.
