Celebrity Gogglebox Stars Have Heartfelt Reaction To Big Boys’ Coming Out Scene

The stars of Celebrity Gogglebox were left emotional after watching a coming out scene from sitcom Big Boys.

The hit Channel 4 show hosted a Pride special on Friday night, featuring regulars such as Rylan Clark and Gok Wan, alongside new contributors including the cast of Heartstopper, Naked Attraction host Anna Richardson and Strictly’s John Whaite and Johannes Radebe.

As part of the show, the famous faces watched writer Jack Rooke’s recent semi-autobiographical comedy, in which Derry Girls’ Dylan Llewellyn plays him.

In an emotional scene in the final episode, Jack comes out to his mother Peggy, played by Camille Coduri.

She then reads out a poignant letter from his late father, in which he said that Jack would maybe one day have a boyfriend, enabling Jack to feel accepted and supported.

Reacting to the scene, Heartstopper’s Joe Locke said: “I’m gonna cry… I just want to give him a big hug.”

Co-star Yasmin Finney added: “Oh my god, I just got goosebumps.”

Recalling his own coming out to his mum Linda, Rylan said: “I mean, it is nerve wrecking. I ran away for a few hours, didn’t I, in a field.”

Scott Mills said: “I remember having this chat with my mum so well.”

Nick Grimshaw’s niece Liv was seen in tears, as the former Radio 1 DJ praised Peggy’s reaction as “the best response ever”.

An tearful John Whaite also called it “a masterclass in good parenting” as Johannes Radebe became emotional too.

“Here’s to the queer kids,” they toasted.

Celebrity Gogglebox airs Fridays at 9pm on Channel 4, while all episodes of Big Boys are available to stream on All4.

Ronan Keating’s Son Jack Among New Love Islanders Entering Casa Amor

Ronan Keating’s son Jack is among six new contestants headed into Love Island’s Casa Amor.

The 23-year-old social media marketer is set to enter a second villa as the ITV2 reality show airs its annual twist designed to test the strength of the existing couples.

The current crop of female Islanders will be introduced to six new boys in Casa Amor, while another set of girls will enter the main villa alongside the original lads.

Jack said he has the full support of his famous dad to appear on the show, insisting the former Boyzone singer will be watching.

“He’s buzzing for me, me and my dad are very close, we’re best mates,” he said.

Describing himself, Jack said: “I think I’m a pretty positive, fun guy so I think some good chat and a bit of Irish charm as well.”

Jack is the second celebrity offspring to appear on Love Island this year, with former England footballer Michael Owen’s daughter Gemma entering the villa at the start of the series.

Also entering Casa Amor are Josh Samuel Le Grove, a 22-year-old model from Essex; Samuel Agbiji, a 22-year-old model from Manchester; 23-year-old roofing company director Billy Brown; Deji Adeniyi, a 25-year-old accounts manager from Bedford; and George Tasker, a 23-year-old labourer from the Cotswolds.

The new female Islanders are set to be introduced to fans on Sunday.

Friday night’s episode of Love Island saw Charlie Radnedge and Antigoni Buxton dumped from the villa after the other contestants had to pick two out of six vulnerable Islanders to leave.

Love Island continues on Sunday at 9pm on ITV2.

Eamonn Holmes Says ‘One Or Two People Would Have To Not Be There’ For Him To Work At ITV Again

Eamonn Holmes has said that there’s “one or two people that would have to not be there” for him to ever work for ITV again.

The presenter had co-hosted This Morning for 15 years prior to his exit in December and now presents the daily breakfast show on GB News.

Eamonn and wife Ruth Langsford presented the ITV daytime show every Friday, but there was a shake up in 2020 that saw the gig handed to new presenting duo Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond, with Eamonn and Ruth being moved to school holiday cover.

Eamonn addressed his exit in a new interview with The Mirror, where he hinted at backstage tensions with “one or two” people that would prevent him from working at the broadcaster in future.

He also said he has not watched any of the show since leaving, saying: “It would be too… sensitive. I mean, I spend every day going out on the street and people saying, ‘Why are you and Ruth not on any more?’”

Eamonn also reiterated that he wished to know more about conversations that were supposedly happening behind the scenes.

“I wish somebody would show me the email or the letter or that I was sent to say, ‘Eamonn, this is why this is coming to an end’,” Eamonn said.

“But to tell lies, that I left them to go to GB News…I didn’t – they left me. Let’s get it straight. They left me. I don’t care, because our audience is only up.”

An ITV spokesperson previously disputed that they had made it look as if Eamonn had “walked away from them, rather than the other way round”.

“This isn’t a version of events that we recognise and as we have said before we wish Eamonn all of the very best,” a rep said.

When Eamonn’s exit was first announced, a rep for ITV said: “We would like to wish Eamonn all of the very best in his new role. As a duo, Eamonn and Ruth have been part of the This Morning presenting team for the last 15 years and we thank Eamonn for all of his hard work and contribution to the show.”

Eamonn previously said of the move shortly before his GB News debut: “Put it this way, I’m looking forward to a move somewhere new where they’re pleased to have me. But I wish everyone well at ITV.”

He also said that despite receiving messages of good wishes from some of his breakfast show rivals, he hadn’t heard from former co-stars Phil and Holly.

He later branded Phillip “passive aggressive” over an incident in 2019 in which he cut Ruth short during a live link, reportedly sparking long-standing tension between the two.

“Phillip is renowned for snubbing people,” he claimed. “He’s very passive-aggressive. It’s up to Ruth to say how she felt, but I was feeling hurt for her.

“No one would have snubbed me like that. I have a good Belfast street fighter in me… I would be direct. I don’t go for presenters who think they have a special privilege or aura or influence.”

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.

Victoria Beckham Calls Out Chris Evans For Weighing Her On Live TV In The 90s

Victoria Beckham has recalled being weighed on live television by Chris Evans in the late 90s, asking: “Can you imagine doing that nowadays?”

The former Spice Girl ended up on the scales during an episode of TFI Friday in 1999, just two months after she gave birth to her first child, Brooklyn.

At the time, the Virgin Radio host told her: “A lot of girls want to know, because you look fantastic again, how did you get back to your shape after birth?”

After she replied that she hadn’t been to the gym at all, the host asked: “Is your weight back to normal?”

When Victoria said it was, he then asked: “Can I check, do you mind?”, before getting her to step on to some scales and remarking: “Eight stone’s not bad at all, is it?”

Recalling the moment in a forthcoming interview with Vogue Australia via The Australian, Victoria said: “I went on a TV show with Chris Evans many years ago and I’d just had Brooklyn and lost a lot of weight after.

“It happened to my mum after her pregnancies. It doesn’t mean you have an eating disorder. And he made me stand on the scales to be weighed. Can you imagine doing that nowadays?”

Reps for Chris Evans have been contacted for comment.

Victoria went on to talk about the media’s obsession with her weight and the sort of headlines and stories she’s been subjected to during her career.

“I’ve had ‘Porky Posh’, I’ve had ‘Skeletal Posh’,” she said. “After I had Brooklyn, there was a picture pointing to every single part of my body where I had to focus on losing the weight from.”

Chris Evans recently announced that he planned to bring back TFI Friday later this year.
