Emma Stone Reveals Why She Suspects Leonardo DiCaprio Thinks She’s ‘A Little Weird’

While Emma Stone is a Hollywood legend in her own right, it’s good to know she’s as goofy around other big stars as we would be.

The La La Land actor has said she is convinced Leonardo DiCaprio thinks she’s “a little weird” after her behaviour around him.

Emma is a self-confessed Leo super fan, and described meeting the Titanic star when he presented her with her Oscar in 2017 as “the most surreal moment of my life”.

“I was like, I’d seen Titanic seven and a half times in theatres. He was the love of my life,” Emma told SiriusXM’s Jess Cagle

“I had a picture of him in my bedroom that was signed, that I had gotten for my birthday when I was like 12 years old and I was walking to Leo. I was like, this is officially the most surreal moment of my life. I could not believe it.”

Emma, who won the Best Actress Academy Award for her role in La La Land, continued: “I think he probably thinks I’m like a little weird, cause whenever I see him, I’m kind of like, ‘Hey, how’s it going?’ You know, just in little moments when you’re at the same event or something. He’s very sweet though.”

Asked to expand on what Leo is like IRL, Emma continued: “He’s very tall and he’s so lovely.

“It doesn’t really seem fair because then it’s like putting someone in a place that like no human beings should really be in that kind of place,” she said. “That’s silly—like nobody’s any different than anybody.”

However, Emma added that to her, Leo will always be his heartthrob character from Titanic.

“He’s stuck in my head as Jack Dawson. He just always will be,” she said.

A rep for the chart-topping singer has now confirmed this to be the case, telling People magazine: “They got married. It was tiny and intimate — less than 20 people.

Last year, Ariana topped the UK singles chart with her solo hit Positions, as well as the Lady Gaga duet Rain On Me.

Nish Kumar Speaks Out Over The BBC’s Decision To Axe The Mash Report

Nish Kumar has shared his thoughts on the BBC’s decision to axe the satirical comedy series The Mash Report.

In March, it was confirmed that The Mash Report – hosted by Nish and featuring comedians like Rachel Parris and Ellie Taylor – would not be returning, with a BBC spokesperson stating that the decision had been made “in order to make room for new comedy shows”.

They explained: “We are very proud of The Mash Report but in order to make room for new comedy shows we sometimes have to make difficult decisions and it won’t be returning.

“We would like to thank all those involved in four brilliant series and hope to work with Nish Kumar, Rachel Parris and the team in the future.”

BBC

Nish Kumar hosted all four series of The Mash Report between 2017 and 2020

At the time, several news outlets pointed out that the news came after reports in The Telegraph claiming the BBC’s newly-appointed director general Tim Davie was “planning to tackle perceived left-wing bias in the corporation’s comedy shows”.

Davie later branded these claims “nonsense”, with Nish sharing his thoughts in a new interview with the Observer.

Nish recalled that he found out about The Mash Report’s cancellation in an email from the controller of the BBC Two, telling him: “We don’t have the money, so we’re gonna move on.”

The comedian told the Observer he took the decision in his stride, and when the subsequent reports emerged in the press about the reasons for The Mash Report’s cancellation, he received another email from the BBC urging him to “ignore the article, it’s all nonsense”.

However, Nish has revealed he “pushed for a public clarification” from the BBC, saying: “There’s an important principle at stake. The story suggests a person’s political leanings can have a bearing on what they get to do on television, which is unacceptable.”

He added that while he doesn’t believe Tim Davie was responsible for The Mash Report not coming back: “The concern for me is that it’s a useful myth for Tim Davie to have out there, because it placates the British right. It gives the sharks a bit of blood.

“And when do sharks ever stop at a bit of blood? When do sharks ever say, ‘Thank you for the bit of blood. That was the perfect amount. Like tapas’?”

He added: “If the BBC does not say something publicly to make it clear they were not reacting to the political content of the show, it will set a bad precedent. It may well stop people pitching new programme ideas. It is not about any reassurance they may have privately given me since.”

A BBC spokesperson had no additional comment besides the original statement when contacted by HuffPost UK.

The Observer also reported that production company Zeppotron is in talks with several broadcasters about potentially reviving The Mash Report on a commercial station.

Although viewing figures for The Mash Report were usually around the one million mark, it did garner a loyal following during its four years on TV.

It was also responsible for a number of viral clips, most notably a scene featuring Rachel Parris, which was titled How Not To Sexually Harass Someone.

Piers Morgan To Grill Keir Starmer In Special Episode Of Life Stories

Piers Morgan has announced he’s set to interview Labour leader Keir Starmer as part of a special episode of his ITV talk show Life Stories.

The hour-long interview is set to be filmed next month, and will cover the leader of the opposition’s childhood and career in law, as well as the past year of leading the Labour party in lockdown.

Following the announcement, Piers said: “It’s very unusual for party political leaders to submit themselves to such lengthy personal interviews and I am delighted that Sir Keir has agreed to talk to me about his fascinating life.

“It promises to be a memorable and very revealing Life Stories show.”

ITV’s head of entertainment, Katie Rawcliffe said the forthcoming interview “promises to be a real treat for our ITV audience.”

There’s no official airdate for Starmer’s episode of Life Stories yet, but ITV has said it will air “in the coming months”

Starmer’s interview will be the first with a party leader on Piers’ show since the broadcaster interviewed Gordon Brown when he was prime minister in 2010.

Prince Harry Reveals Guidance New Neighbour Orlando Bloom Has Offered Since Moving To LA

Prince Harry has revealed he has an alliance in fellow Brit Orlando Bloom since his move to California.

Since stepping down as senior royals in 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have relocated to Los Angeles, where they are neighbours with Orlando and his wife, pop singer Katy Perry.

Speaking on the podcast Armchair Expert, Harry explained that he and Orlando have bonded about the paparazzi, with the Lord Of The Rings actor offering him a heads-up about photographers in their area.

“Just two days ago, Orlando Bloom sent me a message, because he’s just down the road and we sort of keep in contact because of the paparazzi,” Harry explained.

“He sent me a photograph which his security got of this long-haired guy with a beanie on, with his ear pods in, with his massive camera lying in the back of his 4×4 truck.

“A woman driving who did the peace sign was sitting there as a distraction, and he is laid down in the back of this truck taking photographs of them out with their kid and whoever else is in that area.”

Despite the paparazzi presence, Harry also told the podcast that he still feels like he has more privacy in his new life than he did while still carrying out royal duties.

He insisted: “Here, I can actually lift my head and I feel different. My shoulders have dropped, so [have Meghan’s].

“You walk around feeling a little bit more free. I get to take Archie on the back of my bicycle. I never had the chance to do that.”

During the same interview, Harry lifted the lid on his life as a member of the Royal Family, admitting it was something he wanted to leave behind as far back as his 20s.

“I think that the biggest issue for me was that, being born into it, you inherit the risk. You inherit the risk that comes with it ― you inherit every element of it without choice,” Harry said.

“Because of the way that the UK media are, they feel an ownership over you. Literally, like, full on ownership. And then they give the impression to some of their ― or most of their readers ― that that is the case. But I think it’s a really dangerous place to be, if you don’t have a choice.”

Ryan Reynolds’ Cheeky Birthday Gift For David Beckham Couldn’t Have Been More On Brand

Ryan Reynolds treated David Beckham to a very special (and very Ryan Reynolds) belated birthday gift.

Earlier this year, the Deadpool actor made headlines when it was announced he was officially the co-owner of fifth division football club Wrexham AFC, alongside fellow actor Rob McElhenney.

Given he’s good friends with a modern icon of the sport – known for playing for iconic clubs like Manchester United and Real Madrid (not to mention being the co-owner of Inter Miami CF) – it made sense that Ryan would give his pal Becks a football-themed treat for his birthday.

And we’re sure the fact he was able to plug his latest venture in the process didn’t exactly hurt either…

To sweeten the deal, Ryan also sent David a few bottles of American Aviation Gin for his birthday… another brand he just happens to co-own.

Posting footage of his belated birthday gifts on his Instagram story, David explained: “I’ve arrived home to a very lovely gift, Aviation American Gin ‘from one football legend to another. Happy birthday, Becky. RR,’ which I assume is Mr Reynolds.

“Thank you very much, I’m loving my personalised Wrexham shirt. Thank you very much, man, Ryan. Amazing.”

Fortunately, David seemed a lot more taken with his gift than another freebie that recently arrived at the Beckham household.

Last month, Victoria Beckham did little to mask her disdain when she was gifted some Crocs in the post from Justin Bieber.

In a subsequent post, she confessed she’d “rather die” than wear the shoes.

The eclectic mix of celebrities putting in an appearance in the upcoming Friends reunion special has been unveiled, which includes Lady Gaga, David Beckham and Malala Yousafzai.

Yes, the actual Malala Yousafzai.

On Thursday, the first trailer for the forthcoming episode was unveiled, showing all six of the original cast members walking in slow motion on the studio lot where the Friends special was filmed.

As well as the short trailer, details of the special’s guest stars have also been revealed in Variety, with James Michael Tyler and Maggie Wheeler – better known as Gunther and Janice – set to appear in the episode.

Joining them will be Elliott Gould and Christina Pickles (who played Monica and Ross’ parents, Jack and Judy Geller), Reese Witherspoon (who co-starred as Rachel’s sister in two episodes of the sitcom) and Tom Selleck (who played Monica’s love interest, Richard).

That’s where things start to get really interesting.

Also appearing in the show will be a string of famous Friends fans, which includes James Corden, Justin Bieber and Cindy Crawford, alongside the aforementioned Gaga, Beckham and Malala.

The One With Beckham And Malala is definitely not a Friends episode we saw coming, but we’re kind of here for it.

Completing the line-up are K-Pop stars BTS, model Cara Delevingne, Game Of Thrones star Kit Harington and US actor Mindy Kaling, as well as Thomas Lennon and Larry Hankin, who played minor roles in Friends.

It’s also been confirmed that the Friends reunion will be available to stream on HBO Max in the US from 27 May, exactly a year after it was supposed to launch, before the pandemic scuppered plans to begin production.

It’s still not clear exactly when or how British fans will be able to watch, but HBO productions typically come to Sky Atlantic and NOW in the UK.

BBC News Awkwardly Mixes Up The Queen Swimming And A Whale Stuck In The Thames

BBC News was royally mistaken as it attempted to tell viewers about how a small whale became stranded along the River Thames.

On Monday, concern was growing for the Minke whale – which is between 10ft (3m) and 13ft (4m) long – that was trapped at Teddington Lock in south west London.

On the corporation’s 24-hour-rolling news channel, newsreader Martine Croxhall attempted to keep viewers up to date.

She said: “The search continues to locate an injured whale in the River Thames after it escaped a first rescue attempt.”

However, the image shown on screen was the Queen as a teenager in a swimsuit with the caption: “Queen’s swimming memories.”

The journalist caught the mistake and quickly tried to acknowledge the error.

She said: “That was the Queen with her life-saving badge on her swimsuit, but I didn’t have time to tell you. Don’t know why.”

Moving on to the sport, reporter Chetan Pathak noted: “Nicely done, Martine.”

Martin Kemp Reveals George Michael Got Him Job On EastEnders… On One Condition

Martin Kemp has revealed he had George Michael to thank for bagging the role of Steve Owen on EastEnders.

The Spandau Ballet star played the dodgy businessman between 1998 and 2002, but it only came about because the Wham! singer pulled some strings with one of the show’s producers.

But there was also a condition that George – who was a huge fan of the BBC soap – insisted upon.

During an interview on his ITV show Weekend Best, Martin revealed: “George was such an EastEnders fan. He got me the part, in EastEnders, as Steve Owen. Yeah, he pushed me through the door.

“Then he said to me, ‘One thing I want in return… here’s one of my jumpers, sneak it on one day, you have to wear it in one of the scenes!’”

When Weekend Best guest Shane Richie asked if he actually did it, Martin replied: “Yeah I did yeah, I sneaked it on and put it on for him and he loved it!”

Martin added: “He was a beautiful, beautiful man. I can’t speak highly enough of him.”

Martin’s wife Shirlie, who was Wham!’s backing singer, previously revealed their famous friend used to search their home looking for the soap’s scripts.

Shirlie said: “He was obsessed. He would come round and open drawers, snooping about.”
