Paul Mescal Faces Superfan In A Quiz About Himself — And He Doesn’t Exactly Ace It

A Paul Mescal superfan was given the opportunity to put their knowledge to the test in a quiz about the Normal People star – against the man himself.

And if ever there a moment that proves you should never underestimate stans’ knowledge, this would be it.

In the clip, Paul gets off to a strong start, remembering exactly which bird he and co-star Fred Hechinger went searching in the wild for, and his favourite dinner (which, should you ever find yourself cooking for him, is carbonara).

But as the quiz unfolded, Larissa truly came into her own.

After reminding Paul about his first movie roles and correctly reeling off his middle names, the pair were questioned about which year the Emmy nominee graduated from drama school.

“2015,” Paul answered confidently. “Did you not know this?”

“Well…” Larissa then replied. “It’s… 2017, no?”

“I got my own life wrong there. I lost that comfortably,” Paul then conceded. “And do you know what? I hate losing. But I lost to a better Paul.”

Beyoncé’s Mum Sets The Record Straight Over ‘Lies’ About Singer’s Appearance At Kamala Harris Rally

For the past few years, Beyoncé has mostly taken a “keep quiet and let it blow over” approach to whatever rumour might be going round about her at any given time.

Thankfully, the music legend’s mum Tina Knowles is less selective about when to speak out.

On Sunday, Tina set the record straight about widespread false claims that Beyoncé had been paid as much as $10 million (around £7.9 million) to deliver a speech at a rally for Kamala Harris shortly before the US presidential election this month.

“So this has been flagged on Instagram as fake news and taken down. It’s called false information. Sadly other platforms with a lack of integrity still have it up,” Tina wrote, alongside a screenshot of Conservative pundit Candace Owens’ Instagram page.

“The lie is that Beyoncé was paid 10 million dollars to speak at a rally in Houston for vice president Kamala Harris. When In Fact: Beyoncé did not receive a penny for speaking at presidential candidate vice president Kamala Harrris’s rally in Houston.”

“In fact she actually paid for her own flights for her and her team, and total glam,” Tina added, insisting that right-wing critics are “not only lying and disrespecting Beyoncé’s name, but they are trying to further discredit the power of our vice president”.

“When do the lies and rumours stop?” the House of Deréon founder questioned.

“Let ’em know, Ms Tina!” singer John Legend wrote in the comments, adding: “We all performed/appeared for free because we care about our nation’s future.”

“I know you care deeply about this country,” Tina later responded.

Having already been a vocal supporter of the Democrats in several past elections, Beyoncé joined Kamala Harris on stage at a campaign event in the Grammy winner’s hometown of Houston, Texas last month.

“I’m not here as a celebrity. I’m not here as a politician,” Bey told the 30,000 people reported by Harris’ presidential campaign to be in attendance.

She added: “I’m here as a mother, a mother who cares deeply about the world my children and all of our children live in, a world where we have the freedom to control our bodies, a world where we’re not divided.”

Robert De Niro Pulls No Punches As He Tears Into ‘Clown’ Donald Trump

Robert De Niro, one of Donald Trump’s most vocal Hollywood critics, has once again spoken out against the former president.

During the latest instalment of Who’s Talking To Chris Wallace?, the two-time Oscar winner was asked about Trump’s current presidential bid, ahead of the US election later this year.

Do you really worry that if he were to win again… that he would not give up power?” the host asked, to which De Niro responded: “You know he won’t. He even said it. He’s never going to give it up. And anybody who deludes themselves into thinking that he is, shame on you.”

As the conversation progressed, the Godfather star was asked if his and Trump’s paths ever crossed in the 70s and 80s, when they were both running in certain New York circles.

“No. I never wanted anything to do with him,” he insisted. “He’s a jerk, an idiot, who wants to meet a clown like that?”

He continued: “You’ve got to help everybody. People are going to get overlooked. That happens, but at least you have somebody who’s sensitive to the condition of the country, the people. And I’m not saying this like this, because it’s Kamala Harris, but it is. We need someone like her to do it.

“She’ll make mistakes. Of course, everybody does, but we need somebody with the right intentions. This guy has does not have the right intentions, and everybody knows that. It’s insanity. Period.”

Earlier this year, De Niro made headlines when he branded Trump “crazy” and accused him of wanting to “destroy” the United States.

Prior to that, he made an appearance outside the courthouse where Trump was facing trial – and later found guilty on all charges of falsifying business documents to cover up an alleged affair with pornographic film performer Stormy Daniels shortly before the 2016 presidential election – and called the former US leader a “monster” and a “tyrant”.

True to form, Trump wasted no time in firing back at the veteran star on his own social media site Truth Social.

Boy Meets World Star Danielle Fishel Discloses Cancer Diagnosis

Boy Meets World’s Danielle Fishel has revealed she has been diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer.

“I was recently diagnosed with DCIS, which stands for ductal carcinoma in situ, which is a form of breast cancer,” the former Disney star said at the top of the latest episode of her Pod Meets World podcast. “It is very, very, very early. It’s technically stage zero.”

“I’m going to be fine. I’m having surgery to remove it. I’m going to be on some follow-up treatment,” added Danielle, who played Topanga Lawrence on the popular ’90s sitcom.

DCIS is an early, noninvasive form of breast cancer that affects the cells of the milk ducts in the breast, according to Johns Hopkins Medicine. It can show up on a mammogram but typically does not cause symptoms.

Patients who seek timely treatment and diagnosis have excellent prognoses. However, if left untreated, the cancer can become invasive and spread elsewhere in the body.

The 43-year-old told her listeners she had originally wanted to tell only a select few people about her diagnosis. On reflection, though, she realised how much there is to be gained when cancer patients and survivors share their experiences.

“The only reason I caught this cancer when it is still stage zero is because the day I got my text message that my yearly mammogram had come up, I made the appointment,” she said, noting that as a working mum-of-two, “it would be so easy to say, ‘I don’t have time for that. I went to my mammogram last year. I was fine last year. I don’t need to go’”.

“I want to share this because I hope that it will encourage anyone to get in there if it’s time for your appointment,” she added. “If you’ve never had an appointment before, get in there.”

Danielle said she still has some big decisions to make.

“I still have doctors I need to meet with ― oncologists, radiation specialists, hormone therapists, all kinds of stuff that I have still in front of me to decide,” she said, letting listeners know that she still plans to be a part of every podcast episode if she can.

Her friends and co-hosts, fellow Boy Meets World actors Will Friedle and Rider Strong ― who she said were two of the first to know about the cancer ― said they will support and accommodate Danielle however she needs.

Museum Unveils Taylor Swift Wax Figure And Fans Can’t Believe The Results

Swifties are reacting to a new wax figure of their pop star idol — and just can’t shake it off.

The Panoptikum in Hamburg, which describes itself as “the oldest and largest wax museum” in Germany, unveiled a statue of Taylor Swift this week, that has left fans more than a little unnerved.

Video shared by the museum on Instagram shows the wax figure dressed in a sequined romper reminiscent of Taylor’s outfit at the 2019 iHeart Radio Music Awards, but Swifties are already pointing out some other details the creators overlooked.

“Wow. I didn’t even recognise her, and also, Taylor always makes that heart gesture with her whole hand. They should’ve learned that while researching. Truly embarrassing,” wrote one fan in German, with another commenting: “What did they do to Taylor.”

Taylor has made a heart gesture with her hands onstage for years now, and while only an eagle-eyed Swiftie would catch the fact that the fingers on her wax figure are unusually stretched out, that’s presumably the exact clientele the Panoptikum intended to win over.

“Darling, it’s a daydream dressed like a nightmare,” one fan commented on the post in a reference to the classic Blank Space, with another stating: “The face looks different somehow, she wears red lipstick and she does the heart with her whole hand.”

Taylor has long made red her lipstick hue of choice, as evident by the slew of coverage on it. While the Panoptikum oddly decided to forego red for bright pink instead, not every Hamburger who loves the Grammy winner has a bad taste in their mouth.

The wax figure is being criticized on social media for purportedly significant mistakes.

The singer brought her Eras Tour to town last month for two sold-out shows and marked the stop with a heartfelt Instagram post at the time, writing, “Hamburg!! I loved those crowds so so so much. AND we got a rain show night one, unlocking Fuzzy Hair Me.”

While some fans have claimed that the museum’s other statues of Angelina Jolie, Queen Elizabeth II and Ed Sheeran are far truer to their subjects than Taylor’s, others remain hilariously infuriated over the museum’s newest addition.

“Oh no,” one fan commented on Instagram. “It can’t get any worse than this.”

‘Dude, F*** Off’: George Clooney Fires Back At Quentin Tarantino After ‘Irritating’ Comment

During a joint interview with Brad Pitt in the September issue of British GQ magazine, George revealed he was “irritated” with the Pulp Fiction director, after the filmmaker claimed he wasn’t a real movie star.

Quentin said some shit about me recently, so I’m a little irritated by him,” the Gravity star explained. “He did some interview where he was naming movie stars, and he was talking about [Brad Pitt], and somebody else, and then this guy goes, ‘Well, what about George?’. He goes, he’s not a movie star.

“And then he literally said something like, ‘Name me a [George Clooney] movie since the millennium.’ And I was like, ‘Since the millennium? That’s kind of my whole fucking career’.”

As Brad laughed, George continued: “So now I’m like, all right, dude, fuck off. I don’t mind giving him shit. He gave me shit.”

George and Quentin actually previously shared the screen in the 1996 horror movie From Dusk Till Dawn.

While the two-time Oscar winner didn’t actually direct the film in question, he did write it, and was seemingly heavily involved in the casting process, even selecting George because he thought they looked so similar.

And, George had some feelings about that comment, too, in a clip which resurfaced on social media last year…

Met Police Issues Update On Taylor Swift’s London Shows Following Austrian Terror Plot

Following the announcement that three Taylor Swift shows on the Austrian leg of her Eras Tour were cancelled this week, the Met Police has issued an update on her upcoming Wembley shows which are planned to get underway next week.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: “The Met works closely with venue security teams and other partners to ensure there are appropriate security and policing plans in place.

“There is nothing to indicate that the matters being investigated by the Austrian authorities will have an impact on upcoming events here in London.

“As always, we will continue to keep any new information under careful review.”

Policing minister Diana Johnson was asked on LBC Radio about the arrests of suspected extremists in Vienna, and what this could mean for the final leg of Taylor’s UK tour.

The minister said: “Clearly, the police will be looking at all the intelligence and making decisions, they risk assess every event that happens in this country, and that’s something for the police.

“Can I also just say there is, of course, a commitment in our manifesto in the General Election to introduce Martyn’s law, which, again, is about making sure that those… venues which could be subject to terrorist attack have in place everything that they need in terms of keeping people safe, and that will be brought forward by the government shortly.”

Martyn’s Law is named after 2017 Manchester Arena bombing victim Martyn Hett and was designed to protect venues against terror attacks.

Taylor Swift’s Vienna shows were cancelled after a terrorist plot targeting the shows was discovered.

A statement from Barracuda music, the organisers behind the gigs, said: “Due to confirmation by government officials of a planned terrorist attack at the Ernst Happel Stadium, we have no choice but to cancel the three planned shows for everyone’s safety.”

According to BBC News, two people have been arrested in connection with this, including a 19 year old man. Both were said to be radicalised via the internet, with the teenage swearing an oath of allegiance to ISIS at the beginning of July.

Screen actor Shannen Doherty has died at the age of 53.

The US star – best known for her roles in Beverly Hills 90210 and Charmed – died on Saturday, four years after disclosing that she’d been diagnosed with stage four cancer.

“The devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend was surrounded by her loved ones as well as her dog, Bowie. The family asks for their privacy at this time so they can grieve in peace.”

However, in 2020, she shared that the disease had returned, and her condition was said to be stage four

She said of her illness earlier this year: “Listen, I can die today, I can die in 20 years, I don’t know. I can die walking outside of my house … Or I can die of cancer.

“But all I can do is leave each day in as much as a positive manner with hope as I can and embrace it and feel like, ‘Wow, I get to wake up again today, what can I do?’”

Kesha Has Some Choice Words For The Body-Shamers Who Criticised Her Bikini Pics

Kesha has a badass message for the body shamers who slammed her appearance.

The Grammy-nominated singer, reacted to the rude comments social media users made about her physique in a spicy Instagram post last week.

“I didn’t think in 2024 people still body shamed but i am so proud of my body. She’s been through a lot,” Kesha wrote in the 7, post alongside pics of her posing in a black string bikini on the beach.

“She’s torn her acl on stage and finished the show. She’s held my fucking broken heart together.”

The Die Young star added to the haters that their unkind words actually make her feel “very powerful”.

“To those who think you’re shaming me, you’re actually making me feel very powerful,” she added. “So, to you, i hope you one day feel whole enough to not tear other women down. In the mean time, hate me harder bitch.”

Kesha’s three million-plus followers jumped into the comments section to shower her with support amid the negativity from internet trolls.

“Be proud. You’re beautiful. The people hating are the ones hiding an anonymous photo and living in a basement while you’re out here thriving,” one person wrote.

Another said: “Anybody who hates on your body needs glasses.”

“You are beautiful!!! Beautiful person, beautiful body and beautiful soul. Haters gonna hate because they are jealous. You are a light in this world,” someone else commented. “Keep shining bright!!”

Kesha previously shared in an essay in Teen Vogue that she’d been bullied by body shamers as a kid and wrote candidly about recovering from an eating disorder.

“When I think about the kind of bullying I dealt with as a child and teen, it seems almost quaint compared with what goes on today,” she wrote in the 2017 piece. “The amount of body-shaming and baseless slut-shaming online makes me sick.”

“I know from personal experience how comments can mess up somebody’s self-confidence and sense of self-worth,” Kesha added. “I have felt so unlovable after reading cruel words written by strangers who don’t know a thing about me.”
