Fox News host Pete Hegseth on Wednesday lauded a Florida restaurant that is refusing to serve patrons who support US President Joe Biden.
“She’s expressing a sentiment and speaking for a lot of people,” he said of diner owner Angie Ugarte’s sign demanding that Biden supporters take their business elsewhere.
But when the shoe was on the other foot, he took the opposite view.
“What does it say about the left that they stand in solidarity with a business that kicks out a paying customer just because of their political position?” he said at the time.
On Wednesday, he stood in solidarity with the Florida diner, declared that the ban on Biden supporters was a “guttural scream that I love my country.”
He’s renowned for his dressed-down approach when it comes to the red carpet, so many fans might have been surprised to see Ed Sheeran making his way into the GQ Men Of The Year awards on Wednesday night.
The chart-topping singer posed for photographers dressed in an elaborate and brightly-coloured Versace suit jacket – which it turned out had been lent to him by a famous friend.
Well, we say “lent to him”, it doesn’t actually sound like Ed had much choice in the matter.
Speaking to reporters on the night, Ed admitted that his ensemble was a rental from his pal Sir Elton John, after the Rocket Man legend laid into him over his fashion choices.

“I have always been the non-stylish person. I have been lent a nice suit,” he explained.
Ed continued: “This is from Donatella Versace and basically I have gone round Elton’s for dinner and he said, ‘You’ve dressed terribly for the last 10 years, let me sort you out’. So this is Elton sorting me out.”

“I have had loads of offers and they have accelerated in the last 10 hours, as you can imagine,” he explained.
“I will take my free speech campaign around the world and all I require is to have an employer who believes in it as passionately as I do.”
Noting that GMB’s ratings during his tenure as host made him a “valuable commodity”, Piers continued: “I’m considering some very interesting offers right now and I will make a decision quite soon.”

In new legal filings, Rosengart called for Jamie Spears’ immediate resignation, and accused him of trying to “extort” her.
Rosengart said: “Mr Spears and his counsel are now on notice: the status quo is no longer tolerable, and Britney Spears will not be extorted.
“Mr Spears’s blatant attempt to barter suspension and removal in exchange for approximately $2 million (£1.45 million) in payments, on top of the millions already reaped from Ms Spears’s estate by Mr Spears and his associates, is a non-starter.”
He added that Jamie’s resignation would be the “legally correct, decent and graceful thing to do”, adding: “[Jamie’s] idea of ‘orderly’ is to hang on until someone first brands him ‘father of the year’ and awards him a gold star for his ‘service’.
“In other words, although Mr Spears has, at last, been forced to recognise that it is best for his daughter if he departs now, he claims the right to drag his feet because it is best for him to cling to this conservatorship until he feels sufficiently-vindicated.”
This included being forced to take lithium in place of her regular medication and be on birth control despite her hopes to have a child with her boyfriend, Sam Asghari.
He also insisted that there were “no actual grounds for suspending or removing” him from the arrangement, stating he’s been the “unremitting target of unjustified attacks” regarding the conservatorship.
“[Jamie] does not believe that a public battle with his daughter over his continuing service as her conservator would be in her best interests,” his legal team said in court documents.
She wrote in the caption: “River William Stone Sept. 8, 2020 – Aug. 30, 2021.”

Over the weekend, Saira told The Sun she had suffered “life-long” physical scars during an undisclosed incident on the set of the Channel 4 reality show.
“Unfortunately legally I can’t go into much detail about it because it’s still ongoing,” the former Loose Women star explained. “I was left with life-long scars, physical ones. That’s very hard to cope with.
“I am a very fit individual and to go onto a show and then have experienced what I did, I was in real shock.”

Saira added: “The show was great in supporting, but it’s gone beyond that. It’s gone onto something a bit bigger than that.”
However, in the same article, The Sun reported that Saira had “launched legal action” over the incident, which she has branded “fake news”.
Posting on her Instagram, she insisted: “There is a story in the [The Sun] that I am suing or am in a legal battle with [prodution company Minnow Films] and [Channel 4] after filming [Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins]. This is NOT true.
“[Minnow Films and Channel 4] have supported me fully before and after the show.”

Sara continued: “When doing the press PR for the show, there were some legal matters I could not discuss, but that was not to be reported – so of course it gets reported and becomes a ‘clickbait’ story!!
“This show is the BEST show I have ever taken part in and it is disappointing that my role in it is being overshadowed by FAKE NEWS.”
She also said that if she were in “a legal battle with the show”, she wouldn’t be “promoting the show on my platform in such a positive light” or praising it in her newspaper column.
“If I was in a legal battle or suing I wouldn’t be doing my case any favours by saying what a great time I had on it!” she wrote. “They say all PR is good PR – yeah, but not when it’s fake news that hurts innocent people.”
A Minnow Films spokesperson previously told HuffPost UK: “Minnow Films and Saira Khan are happy to have resolved the concern raised.”
They also supplied a statement from Saira herself, which said: “I’m absolutely happy to have taken part in Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins. I had a life changing experience on the show, for the better, and if I was asked to do it again, I 100% would.”
Having finished as runner up in the first series of The Apprentice in 2005, Saira is now best known for her stint on the Loose Women panel, quitting the daytime show earlier this year, after wrapping filming on SAS: Who Dares Wins.
“I did take big drastic steps [after SAS: Who Dares Wins],” she told The Sun. “I left Loose Women and, interestingly, Andrea McLean left Loose Women after doing SAS.
“It changes your life. You realise you’ve got to cut through the shit and start living.”

If you didn’t already know that new BBC drama Vigil was made by the same people as Line Of Duty, you probably could have worked it out eight minutes into the first episode on Sunday night.
In the same way Jed Mercurio’s hit cop show has become famed for, a major Vigil character was unexpectedly killed off early on – and it was a face that Line Of Duty fans will have found very familiar, too.
Despite being a much-publicised casting, Martin Compston – better known as DS Steve Arnott – was killed off within the first 10 minutes, as his character Chief Petty Officer Craig Burke was found dead under suspicious circumstances aboard the HMS Vigil.
Enter Suranne Jones’ DCI Amy Silva, who was sent to investigate his death while staying aboard the submarine.

It quickly became apparent that there’s a lot to unpack following Burke’s death – not least his connections to a peace group campaigning against trident missiles – leaving us with many questions to be answered as the investigation began…
Why was Burke’s body not taken off the submarine?
Silva was told it was “too late” for Burke’s body to be taken off the boat as the hatch closed, despite it previously being agreed that it would be taken to be examined.
This now means a full post mortem cannot be carried out, and the fact there has been a clear operation to keep his body on board suggests that more than one person could be involved in his death.
Was Jade really Burke’s girlfriend?

Following her arrest for attempting to break into Burke’s room in the accommodation block, she claimed that she’d obtained his keys as she was his girlfriend.
However, it felt rather convenient when she said no-one else knew about their relationship as they “wouldn’t have been happy”. She also didn’t seem particularly emotionally distraught that her supposed “boyfriend” had just died.
Could it be that she’d just met Burke through her campaigning as part of the Dunloch Peace Corp, and had been drilling for the information he clearly had?
What happened to Silva’s family?

After experiencing claustrophobia in her bunk, a flashback appeared to suggest Silva’s partner Ian and their daughter were in a car accident that saw them plunged into water. Did they lose their lives? And does this suggest Silva isn’t perhaps the best person to be on board a literal submarine right now?
Why did Silva give up medical school?
She didn’t answer when Dr Doherty asked. Is this to do with the past trauma in her family?
Why did Hadlow go to see Burke before he died?

Hadlow was one of the last people to see Burke alive and was also the person who found him dead in his bunk. However, questions were raised about exactly why Hadlow had gone to disturb Burke in the first place.
Were they in on some sort of conspiracy together? Or perhaps he was going to confront him about what Burke been up to in the bomb shop?
Which submarine pulled the Mairi Finnea down? And why?
It was claimed that the Mairi Finnea trawler was pulled down by an enemy submarine, something Vigil captain Paterson Joseph is keen to keep secret, as it would expose the fact they have “always been at war”.
Was Burke killed for risking exposing the truth? After all, we now know that he was about to expose corruption within the British Navy. Speaking of which…
What exactly was Burke’s plan?

The USB that DS Longacre found in Burke’s room had a pre-recorded video message from Burke on it, which he made in case of his death, hinting he anticipated the possibility of being killed for exposing the corruption and fear within the Vigil crew.
In it, he speaks of “20 different ways to kill Vigil crew single handed” – was he actually going to kill someone before he met his own end?
If the Vigil’s mission is to “stay hidden”, how come Silva was allowed on board?

The boat must have taken a serious security risk to come up to the surface to allow Silva aboard, so does that suggest Captain Joseph was lying about the crew’s mission to “stay hidden”?
Who killed Burke?
At this point in time, there looks to be a number of possible suspects in Burke’s murder – not least Hadlow, Glover, Prentice and even Captain Joesph.
But with this being a six-part series, something tells us we’re not about to get a definitive answer any time soon…
But the singer’s panache for making old things feel new again has irked some fans (did she ever send those flowers, by the way?) ― especially when it comes to the similarities between her smash single Good 4 U and Paramore’s triple-platinum track from 2007, Misery Business.
Upon the song’s debut in May, listeners almost immediately drew comparisons to Paramore’s pop punk-tinged sound. Creators flooded the internet with mashups uniting the two songs into one epic, cross-generational breakup anthem.
Now, months after the release of her debut album Sour, Olivia’s team has retroactively credited Paramore’s lead singer Hayley Williams and former guitarist Josh Farro as songwriters on Good 4 U, according to Variety.
Hayley and Josh are now listed alongside Rodrigo and producer-songwriter Daniel Nigro on the website of the American Society of Composers, Authours and Publishers for Good 4 U, Billboard noted.
A source told Billboard that Olivia’s and Paramore’s teams had communicated about the track before it was released.
The Paramore frontwoman appeared to react to the update via her Instagram Story on Tuesday, resharing a post from the band’s publisher that read: “A huge shoutout to our writers Hayley Williams & Joshua Farro.”
“Our publisher is wildin rn,” Hayley wrote on Instagram.
The songwriting credit could result in a major payday for the Paramore musicians, as Good 4 U has made itself comfortable on the US Billboard Hot 100 since topping the chart in May. The song is Olivia’s second No. 1 single, following her debut Driver’s License, which launched her career.
Olivia is making something of a habit out of crediting artists after the fact, as she gave Taylor Swift a non-collaborative credit on her song Deja Vu in July. The song features an arrangement similar to the pop superstar’s track Cruel Summer, most notably in how Rodrigo shouts at the tail end of the bridge.
Taylor, however, was credited from the jump on a separate Olivia track, 1 Step Forward, 3 Steps Back, which uses a melody from New Year’s Day, the closing track on Taylor’s album Reputation.
While Olivia has courted plenty of critics for her many inspirations, she has at least one music icon in her corner.
After fans attacked the former Disney Channel star for borrowing a guitar riff from Elvis Costello’s song Pump It Up, he came to her defence on social media with a compelling argument about the nature of making music.
“It’s how rock and roll works,” Elvis wrote on Twitter in response to a fan who’d spotted the similarities. “You take the broken pieces of another thrill and make a brand new toy. That’s what I did.”
When singer Niall Horan interviewed Lizzo, she turned the exchange into more of a flirty speed date.
Niall guest-hosted Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Lizzo was impressed with his skills.
“This is the sexiest call I’ve ever been on,” she said, to which the Irish singer replied, “Me too, geez, I’m getting hot in this nutmeg-colored suit.”

After the result of the public vote was announced, Millie and Liam had to decide whether to stick or split the cash prize.
Millie received the envelope with the money but decided to split it with Liam. meaning they took home £25,000 each.
