Jon Hamm Opens Up About Engagement To Anna Osceola

Jon Hamm, who got engaged in February, is finally in “a pretty good place”.

While the 52-year-old Mad Men star met Anna Osceola while shooting the show’s finale in 2015, they were only first linked romantically in 2020. Hamm said finding the right partner wasn’t easy, but that his 35-year-old fiancée is one he can finally “lean on”.

“I think when you’re figuring out relationships, there’s a reason that that’s a genre unto itself in television and film,” he told People in an interview published Wednesday. “It’s a bumpy road towards relationships, but we do get better at it, I suppose.”

Osceola, a fellow actor, most recently starred opposite Hamm in the 2022 detective comedy, Confess, Fletch. Hamm previously dated Jennifer Westfeldt, but notably split with her after 18 years in 2015 — the year he met Osceola.

“I feel like I’ve figured out some things over the course of my half a century on the planet,” he said. “So I’m in a pretty good place now. Hopefully I’m learning.”

Hamm, whose parents divorced when he was two years old, didn’t have it easy. He lost his mother to colon cancer when he was 10, and later his father died when he was 20. Hamm found solace in acting at college, and revealed in 2017 he finally started going to therapy.

“It’s only been in the last couple of years, me kind of sitting down and really thinking about all that stuff, that’s made the relationship that I’m in now even more meaningful,” he told Howard Stern in 2022, adding he was open to “being married, having kids…happiness”.

While still challenging, Hamm finds life easier and more rewarding with Osceola by his side.

“You’re in it, it’s your life, and so you wake up and you deal with what comes at you,” he told People. “That’s certainly the case with us. The funny thing about this career is that there’s no rule book. You really have to lean on one another for…support and…any kind of advice.”

The trauma of losing one parent as a child and the other soon after oddly made Hamm the best candidate for his fractured Mad Men character of Don Draper. Hamm, who previously revealed he regularly abused alcohol in the past, is fortunately much happier today.

Living with another actor, meanwhile, has shown to be uniquely challenging on its own. Hamm said that he and Osceola handle those hurdles “day to day”, specially when the lines between work and home life appear too blurry to distinguish.

They currently star together in Maggie Moore(s) directed by Mad Men alum John Slattery.

Kelly Osbourne Calls Prince Harry A ‘F**king T**t’ In Podcast Rant

Kelly Osbourne isn’t mincing words about Prince Harry.

The former reality show star bluntly mocked her fellow nepo baby while being interviewed on the I’ve Had It podcast.

Osbourne’s harsh comments came after podcast co-host Jennifer Welch brought up the Duke of Sussex’s nonexistent role in King Charles’ coronation.

“I don’t care what my fucking son did, if I was getting crowned — he would sit in the very front row,” Welch said.

Osbourne didn’t agree, saying: “I think Harry’s a fucking twat.”

But she didn’t stop there.

“I think he’s a fucking twat,” she repeated, before piling on. “He’s a whining, whingeing, complaining, woe is me. ‘I’m the only one that’s ever had mental problems. Like my life was so hard.’”

Osbourne noted that “everybody’s fucking life is hard”, before going even further with her attack.

“You were the prince of a goddamned country who dressed up as a fucking Nazi and now you’re trying to come back as the Pope. Suck it,” Osbourne added.

You can hear her complete comments below, starting around the 38-minute mark.

Attacking the Duke and Duchess of Sussex is sort of an Osbourne family tradition.

Back in 2018, Osbourne’s mother, Sharon Osbourne, was caught on tape claiming that Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle, wasn’t really Black.

And Kelly Osbourne isn’t the only celebrity who recently had harsh words for Prince Harry.

Last week, sports writer and Spotify executive Bill Simmons called Harry and Meghan “fucking grifters” on his podcast after it was announced that the production company founded by the couple would be parting ways with the streaming platform less than a year after the debut of their podcast “Archetypes.

“‘The fucking grifters.’ That’s the podcast we shoulda launched with them,” Simmons said. “I gotta get drunk one night and tell the story of the Zoom I had with Harry to try and help him with a podcast idea. It’s one of my best stories.”

Craig Doyle Speaks Out On This Morning Presenting Role, Amid Schofield Replacement Rumours

Craig Doyle has spoken out on his role guest hosting This Morning, amid rumours he could be set to replace Phillip Schofield full time.

The Irish presenter has emerged as one of the frontrunners to land the job, as ITV chiefs search for a permanent co-host for Holly Willoughby following Phillip’s exit from the daytime show.

In an interview with The Times, Craig revealed his love of presenting the show, admitting he feels “grateful” for chance to front it.

“I love doing the This Morning show,” he said. “It’s great fun and I feel so grateful at this stage in my career to get an opportunity to do a show this size.”

“Given that I’m on my second or third lap of this industry, to get an opportunity like this is fantastic.”

He continued: “It’s a very important television programme as it’s the backdrop for a lot of people’s morning,”

“From anecdotal evidence, I know that it provides company and it’s almost a friend to a lot of people. There’s a familiarity, an everydayness and a brightness that makes it enjoyable.”

Craig also praised the way the show’s wide mix of topics “encapsulate life”, suggesting it mirrors the way people can be “in the supermarket and one minute you’re talking about your kids and the next, you’re in work, discussing financial projections”.

Craig – who has proved to be very popular with This Morning fans – stepped in to host for two days during Holly’s first week back following Phillip’s exit from the show last month

Phillip subsequently left ITV altogether after admitting to an affair with a younger colleague on the show.

Craig has previously served as a guest host on This Morning on Fridays and during school holidays, presenting alongside the likes of Josie Gibson, Rochelle Humes and Alison Hammond.

Holly is currently presenting with a rotation of different members of the This Morning family until a permanent replacement for Phillip is found.

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV1.

Anna Richardson Names The Stars Who Told Her They’d Be Up For Celebrity Naked Attraction

Naked Attraction presenter Anna Richardson has revealed a number of celebrities have told her they’d be up for appearing on a star-studded version of the outrageous dating show.

“I’ve bumped into a couple of celebs recently who’ve gone ‘I’d do it!’,” Anna told OK! magazine, naming Blue singer Duncan James as one of them.

She continued: “Duncan James was like, ‘I’m up for it!’, and I was like ‘oh my god!’.

“And the lovely Anna Whitehouse, who does the Dirty Mother Pukka podcast, said to me a couple of weeks ago that she’d do it.”

News presenter India Willoughby previously claimed she’d been approached about appearing on a celebrity special of Naked Attraction in aid of Stand Up To Cancer.

Meanwhile, reality star Lauren Harries took part in an episode of Naked Attraction back in 2019.

Anna has also teased that she still has one other “big dream” when it comes to Naked Attraction, which she’s hosted since it launched in 2016.

“I’d like to do it as a theatre show,” she explained. “I just think there’s a few things that we could do now to move it on and Naked Attraction Mark 2. But we’ll see…”

Earlier this week, Channel 4 was forced to set the record straight after reports in the press claimed that the divisive dating show could be facing the axe amid budget cuts at the station.

Naked Attraction will return for a new series in 2024.

Luke Evans Says He ‘Wept’ After Reading Script For His First-Ever Gay Role

Luke Evans’ latest movie role is the first to reflect his queer authentic self.

The Welsh actor stars opposite Billy Porter in Our Son, which premiered at the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival.

Our Son follows Nicky and Gabriel (played by Luke and Billy, respectively), a married couple who are engaged in a bitter custody dispute over their eight-year-old son, as they inch toward divorce.

Though Luke’s résumé includes starring roles in Disney’s live-action remake of Beauty And The Beast and other blockbusters, the actor had not portrayed a gay role in a major film until now.

“I’ve been ready to take that step for ages. I just haven’t found the right story [until now],” he told People. “Divorce is as right for a gay couple as marriage, and I hadn’t really seen that, and when I read it, every time I’ve read the script, I wept.”

He went on to note: “So I just thought, ‘Maybe this is a good time, and this is a good role to pick up and do.’”

These days, Luke is in a relationship with boyfriend Fran Tomas, a graphic designer from Spain. The couple made their red carpet debut at a UNICEF event in December.

Still, the actor has endured criticism in recent years amid claims he’d been reluctant to make a statement about sexuality as his Hollywood career was on the rise.

“My career was public, I was photographed, and all that stuff,” he told Attitude magazine in 2020.

“My personal life just became the last thing that I had. Also, what was strange was that when people did find out that I was gay, there was a lot of articles and stuff written saying that I was hiding it, and I wasn’t.”

Raised a Jehovah’s Witness, Luke left his home and religion at age 16 in order to pursue an acting career.

In his chat with Attitude, he said that decision made speculation he’d deliberately stayed closeted more hurtful: “I just wanted to get online and I wanted to pick up the phone and say, ‘Do you realise I left home at 16 because I was gay?’ I went into the world as a kid, because I had to.”

As for Our Son, Luke described working on the film as “traumatic at times, painful at times, very real, very visceral and very relatable”.

“You don’t have to be gay to enjoy this or understand this story,” he explained to People. “Families break up all the time, but this is the story of hope, and how they get through it, and how a new chapter is started, but a different kind of chapter.”

Victoria Coren Mitchell Starts Beef With The New York Times Over New Word Game

On Monday, the US newspaper’s associate puzzle editor Wyna Liu launched a trial version of a new game called Connections, which joins a large number of successful apps, including Wordle, in the NYT stable.

“Very excited to share the game I’ve been working on, Connections! I’ve loved making it, and hope you enjoy playing,” Liu wrote.

The tweet prompted Coren Mitchell to throw shade at the Old Grey Lady (the newspaper’s nickname).

“Do you know this has been a TV show in the UK since 2008?!,” the presenter asked in Liu’s replies. “It’s so similar I guess you must do?”

The newspaper’s game asks quizzers to bring together apparently random words that have been set on a four-by-four grid.

By contrast, the BBC show’s connecting walls round asks quizzers to bring together apparently random words that have been set on a four-by-four grid.

Only Connect has been running since 2008, for a total of 436 episodes across 18 seasons.

In any case, the feud fired up social media. Senior writer for Only Connect, Mike Turner, wrote: “If you need a hand at all, I’ve written over 750 of these for Only Connect.”

Cormac McCarthy, Pulitzer-Winning Author Of The Road, Dies Age 89

Cormac McCarthy, the novelist known for his Southern Gothic stories, died in his home in Santa Fe, New Mexico, on Tuesday at 89.

His publisher, Knopf, confirmed his death to Publishers Weekly.

McCarthy was one of the most celebrated novelists of his generation, considered by literary critic Harold Bloom to be as influential as Don DeLillo, Thomas Pynchon and Philip Roth.

Born in 1933 in Rhode Island, McCarthy spent most of his young life in Knoxville, Tennessee, where his father, Charles Joseph McCarthy, worked as a lawyer. He attended the University of Tennessee on and off before dropping out for good in 1959. He had a short-lived marriage to Lee Holleman, who divorced him after the couple had a child, Cullen.

In 1965, the author’s debut novel, The Orchard Keeper, was published. The book featured several tropes that would recur in much of the author’s work: father-son relationships; dark, Southern settings; and biblical allusions.

On a trip abroad, McCarthy met his second wife, Anne Delisle, and wrote his second book, Outer Dark. He and Delisle lived together in Tennessee before separating in 1976, when McCarthy moved to El Paso, Texas. While there, he was awarded a MacArthur Fellowship (aka a “Genius Grant”), and wrote several of his best-known novels, including Blood Meridian and All the Pretty Horses, which won the National Book Award.

After McCarthy moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico, with his third wife, Jennifer Winkley, and their son, John, he was inspired to write The Road on a visit to El Paso in 2003. He later explained in an interview with Oprah that the novel was inspired by his relationship with his son. Winkley and McCarthy later divorced.

The Road would go on to win the Pulitzer Prize and to be adapted into a film. McCarthy’s novel No Country for Old Men was also adapted into a movie directed by the Coen brothers, whose work the author has explicitly praised.

After a 16-year break, McCarthy published two intertwined novels in late 2022: The Passenger (October) and Stella Maris (December).

McCarthy was deeply private and little else was known about his private life. At the end of his biography page on the Cormac McCarthy Society’s website, the fan club wrote, “Except for a few odds and ends (his favourite novel is Melville’s Moby-Dick; he doesn’t care for the work of Henry James, he doesn’t like to talk about writing, etc.), that’s more or less what we know about Cormac McCarthy”.

Indeed it is, aside from the impressive body of work he’s left behind.

Jennifer Lawrence Admits She Was An ‘Accidental Bully’ In High School

Jennifer Lawrence admitted she was an “accidental bully” to someone in school and still keeps track of the person.

“I was an accidental bully because I pantsed this kid named Tyler,” the star said in an interview with E! News last week while promoting her new movie, No Hard Feelings.

“We were, like, pantsing people at a football game and I accidentally grabbed his underwear and he got really embarrassed,” Lawrence explained.

“I feel really bad, I like sometimes Google him,” she continued. “Just to be like, ‘You all right?’”

No hard feelings, Tyler? We’ll have to see.

The Hunger Games actor also said she was bullied herself by one girl, who she named with no remorse.

“This one girl named Meredith handed me a stack of invitations to her birthday party, but I was not invited,” she said, as her co-star Andrew Feldman gasped and exclaimed, “Oh my god!”

“She asked me to hand them out. Isn’t that so mean?” Lawrence said, adding: “It’s fine, I spit on them and threw them in the trash.”

While Lawrence may or may not be drawing on her past school experiences for her new movie, she told Vogue last year “so many of my films in the past have been about my mother, my childhood”.

And now that she’s a new mom, she told the outlet, she wonders “what will happen now that I’ll be witnessing somebody else’s childhood”.

“And I wonder what he’s going to be talking about with his therapist,” she said. “She wouldn’t put me down. She kisses me on the mouth. She asked me not to go to college.”
