Jack Black Reveals Where Things Stand With Tenacious D Bandmate After Cancelling Tour

Jack Black has insisted he and his Tenacious D bandmate Kyle Gass are still on good terms after abruptly cancelling the remaining dates of their tour last month.

The pair had been on tour in Australia in mid-July, when Jack announced they were pulling the rest of their scheduled performances, following a divisive joke Kyle made about the assassination attempt on former US president Donald Trump.

During one live show, the School Of Rock star presented Kyle with a birthday cake, imploring him to “make a wish”, to which he responded: “Don’t miss Trump next time.”

Jack later said he’d been “blindsided” by his friend and bandmate’s remark, and that they’d be cancelling the remainder of their tour.

Asked about where things now stand between them, the Emmy winner told Variety: “We need to take a break. Everybody needs a break sometime. And we’ll be back.”

He added: “We’re friends. That hasn’t changed. These things take time sometimes… And we’ll be back when it feels right.”

Jack previously told his Instagram followers two days after the incident: “I was blindsided by what was said at the show on Sunday. I would never condone hate speech or encourage political violence in any form.

“After much reflection, I no longer feel it is appropriate to continue the Tenacious D tour, and all future creative plans are on hold. I am grateful to the fans for their support and understanding.”

For the past few years, Tenacious D had been working on a new album, which would be the first since 2018’s Post-Apocalypto.

Jack had previously claimed this would be released later in 2024, though it’s no longer clear whether these plans will be going ahead.

Here Are All The Singers Opening For Taylor Swift On The Final UK Dates Of Her Eras Tour

The Eras tour is back in London this month as Taylor Swift prepares to take to the stage for five more nights at Wembley stadium rounding off the European leg of her mammoth world jaunt.

From Thursday 15 August to Tuesday 20 August, the global pop sensation is coming back to the English capital, where she’ll be supported by Paramore and an additional, newly-announced artist on each night of the latest leg of the tour.

“Just wanted to tell you about something coming up that I’ve been so excited about: we’re adding five incredible artists to our five Wembley shows, going on right before Paramore,” the Fortnight singer shared on her Instagram story.

“I asked them to play on this tour because I love their music and I think they’ll absolutely smash it in Wembley Stadium,” she continued. “Go check out their music if you haven’t already. Gonna be a fun 5 nights.”

Those lucky five artists are…

16 August: Holly Humberstone

17 August: Suki Waterhouse

These acts will follow in the footsteps of Mette, Griff and Benson Boone who each performed before Paramore during Taylor’s June dates at Wembley.

As to be expected, they’ve already been sharing their ecstatic reactions to the news online…

Taylor’s first batch of Wembley shows were star-studded, to say the least.

Dylan Sprouse Spots Challenge To Working With Twin Brother Cole Again

Dylan Sprouse revealed that he hopes to get to work with his twin brother Cole Sprouse again before pointing out a possible setback.

“I will say, though, there’s not very many good roles for twins in general. It’s usually pretty hokey,” said Dylan Sprouse, who dropped by “Live with Kelly and Mark” on Wednesday.

“I remember Cole distinctly being kind of bitter about Tom Hardy being a twin [in ‘Legend’],” he continued. “He doesn’t like when people play two different real people, and I looked at him, and I was like, ‘Cole, I don’t think they were looking for guys like us to play that role, anyway, if they’re hiring Tom Hardy.’”

The twin brothers, who kicked off their film career roughly 25 years ago in the Adam Sandler-led comedy “Big Daddy,” famously starred in Disney Channel’s “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody” and “The Suite Life on Deck.”

Dylan Sprouse said he’s getting more into executive producing and making projects, adding that — if anything — they’d “have to make something” to star in together.

“I thought it would be pretty funny to start casting him in roles where he gets like killed in the movie a lot, the kind of ‘South Park’ Kenny. I thought that would be kind of funny,” he joked.

“You know, where he’s on screen for five minutes and then explodes.”

Host Kelly Ripa, earlier in the “Live” interview with the actor, pointed to his brother’s appearance on her podcast, where he revealed that the twins “sort of blew off” Matt Damon when he came to visit “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody” set.

The host said Damon — whose kids were fans of the show — wanted to drop by during the brothers’ downtime, but the twins were playing video games.

Sprouse revealed that Damon arrived on set during one of the “raiding days” in their “World of Warcraft” guild and recalled the “Good Will Hunting” actor greeting the two.

He said, “I remember distinctly turning over my shoulder while playing in a raid being like, ‘Ugh, I don’t really have time for this right now.’”
