Madonna’s Rep Denies Rumours Singer Was Spotted In Donald Trump’s World Cup Suite

Madonna has hit back at the suggestion that she spent a portion of the World Cup final in the same suite as US president Donald Trump.

On Sunday night, the Queen of Pop was one of the headliners at Fifa’s first ever World Cup halftime show, performing a mash-up of her classic song Music and recent hit Danceteria alongside some iconic football cameos.

After the final, footage began doing the rounds on social media which some suggested showed Madonna hanging out in the same suite as the US leader and First Lady (one such post has racked up almost 24 million views at the time of writing, in the two days since it was first shared).

However, a rep for the Like A Prayer singer has since clarified to Rolling Stone that it is not her in the video, and that she was not ever in Trump’s suite at the World Cup.

Since Trump’s political career began in the 2010s, Madonna has been among his vocal detractors.

At the Women’s March ahead of his 2017 inauguration, the Grammy winner raised eyebrows when she delivered a speech claiming that she’d thought “an awful lot about blowing up the White House” since his election.

This prompted a response from Trump himself at the time, who branded Madonna “disgusting” and claimed that her remarks were “disgraceful to our country”.

Following the controversy that ensued, she later clarified that her comment had been taken “wildly out of context”, insisting: “I am not a violent person, I do not promote violence and it’s important people hear and understand my speech in its entirety rather than one phrase.”

After Trump’s victory in the most recent US election was declared, Madonna made headlines when she posted a picture of a cake emblazoned with the message “fuck Trump” on Instagram, fuming at the time that she was “trying to get my head around why a convicted felon, rapist, bigot was chosen to lead our country because he’s good for the economy”.

Last year, Madonna continued to make a string of comments against Trump, accusing his administration of “slowly dismantling all the freedoms we have been fighting for and WON over the years”, referring specifically to LGBTQ+ rights.

“Don’t give up the fight!” she urged her followers.

The chart-topping musician later lamented that “fascism” had “become banal and the norm”, and months afterwards, criticised him again in an impassioned post to commemorate World AIDS Day.

Madonna – a vocal advocate for HIV and AIDS awareness throughout her career – wrote on social media: “Donald Trump has announced that World AIDS Day should no longer be acknowledged.

“It’s one thing to order federal agents to refrain from commemorating this day, but to ask the general public to pretend it never happened is ridiculous, it’s absurd, it’s unthinkable.

She added: “I bet he’s never watched his best friend die of AIDS, held their hand, and watched the blood drain from their face as they took their last breath at the age of 23.”

Madonna’s criticism of Trump, in fact, stretches back a lot further than his presidency, as she was branding him a “wimp” in the press as far back as 1990.

Madonna Lands Her Own Graham Norton Show Special Ahead Of Confessions II Album

Graham Norton is devoting a whole episode of his talk show just to Madonna as she gears up for the release of her new album.

On Wednesday, several outlets spotted a special episode of The Graham Norton Show titled simply Madonna & Graham in the BBC’s scheduling listings.

The special is due to air on Friday 26 June at 10.40pm, just one week before the Queen of Pop unveils her long-awaited 15th album, Confessions II.

HuffPost UK has contacted the BBC for comment.

Graham has interviewed Madonna on his talk show on several occasions in the past, including on the promo trails for her film W.E. and her most recent album, Madame X.

Asked about his past interviews with Madonna in 2024, the Bafta winner recalled: “She’s done [my show]. And then, I think, she fell out with me, and then the next one she did was Jonathan [Ross, in 2015]. And then she came back to me [in 2019].”

“I like Madonna, but she doesn’t make it easy,” he then admitted. “I always thought that I might become her friend.

“[When I see] her Instagram posts, I like to look behind her at the house, and say, ‘I wonder which house she’s in? Is she in London?’. Sometimes I cycle past it and think, ‘I wonder if she’s in there now?’. But rest assured, I’m not her friend, so don’t be too jealous.”

Back in 2015, Graham was a surprise guest when Madonna brought her Rebel Heart tour to London’s O2 Arena.

Madonna’s Confessions II will be released on Friday 3 July.

The release was preceded by album cuts I Feel So Free and Love Sensation, as well as lead single Bring Your Love, featuring fellow chart-topper Sabrina Carpenter.

Earlier this week, she also unveiled a new short film to promote the album, featuring a host of impressive celebrity cameos.

Effectively an extended music video made up of short vignettes set to the first six songs on the album, Madonna premiered her Confessions II visuals at New York’s Tribeca Film Festival last week.

The 14-minute video has now been uploaded to YouTube, with the Like A Prayer singer being joined by a host of celebrities that include friends, collaborators and other A-list guests who took part in the shoot.

Here’s a quick guide to all the celebrity guests you might have missed in the Confessions II film…

Madonna

Unsurprisingly, the first face we see in the Confessions II film is Madonna herself.

This marks the first music video she’s appeared in since 2024, when she teamed up with The Weeknd on Popular, taken from his TV show The Idol.

While The Idol may have gone down like a lead balloon with critics and viewers, Popular itself proved much more… well… popular, becoming Madonna’s first top 10 single in the UK in 15 years.

Julia Garner

Confessions II’s first surprise cameo comes at the beginning of the Bring Your Love segment, when Madonna suddenly transitions into Julia Garner, sporting her own take on the Grammy winner’s iconic Jean-Paul Gaultier conical bras.

Madonna and Julia already have a well-established connection, as the Weapons actor was due to play the pop pioneer in a now-cancelled film biopic and, later, a stalled Netflix series inspired by the star’s life.

While this project is seemingly still in development purgatory, the two stars are due to share the screen in the second season of Seth Rogen’s The Studio, which is expected to poke fun at the troubled production.

Sabrina Carpenter

Bring Your Love then introduces Sabrina Carpenter, a featured artist on the track, who sports a matching outfit to Madonna.

Sabrina and Madonna premiered Bring Your Love, Confessions II’s lead single, during the Please Please Please singer’s headlining slot at Coachella in April, after which it was given a full release.

The pop tune gave Madonna her 73rd top 40 single in the UK, having so far peaked at number 29.

João Pedro and Cole Palmer

From Bring Your Love, we head to the club setting of Danceteria, inspired by the 80s New York nightspot of the same name.

Among the first shots in the Danceteria sequence is a string of four men standing at urinals (the scene takes place in a club bathroom, we should stress), two of whom are Chelsea footballers João Pedro and Cole Palmer.

Last year, Madonna made headlines when she and her boyfriend Akeem Morris attended a Chelsea game, where Cole scored no fewer than four goals for the London-based team.

Kate Moss

Another of the A-listers featured in the Danceteria musical number is Kate Moss.

She’s first seen applying lipstick in the bathroom mirror, before dancing shoulder-to-shoulder with Madonna and appearing in a close-up during the lyric “hide the cocaine” in what may have been a playful nod to her colourful past.

Odessa A’zion

Odessa A’zion has the unenviable task of going head-to-head with Madonna when they have a minor scuffle during Danceteria.

The Bafta nominee is a real star on the rise right now thanks to her work in the film Marty Supreme and the TV series I Love LA as well as Stranger Things: Tales From ’85.

Gwendoline Christie

Game Of Thrones star Gwendoline Christie is spotted peeping over a toilet cubicle wall while Madonna and a dancer are seen getting up close and personal.

She and Madonna have crossed paths numerous times over the years.

Back in 2015, the British actor joined Madonna on stage during her Rebel Heart tour, with the two sharing a moment together during her follow-up Madame X tour in 2020.

Shygirl, Arca and Richard E Grant

There’s then a three-for-one when a trio of stars are spotted laughing it up in a toilet cubicle together, with musicians Shygirl and Arca sharing the screen with Richard E Grant.

Notably, Arca co-produced Confessions II’s opening track I Feel So Free, having previously joined Madonna on stage during her Celebration Tour in 2023.

Debi Mazar

Debi Mazar is one of the 80s nightlife fixtures who gets name-checked in the lyrics of Dancerteria, so it makes sense that she should also make a cameo.

She and Madonna are lifelong friends, with the Kaos star previously making appearances in the music videos for her hits Papa Don’t Preach, True Blue, Justify My Love, Deeper And Deeper, and Music.

Archie Madekwe

Richard E Grant’s Saltburn co-star Archie Madekwe also appears in the Danceteria segment of Confessions II’s visual accompaniment.

He appears during a section which mentions Danceteria’s real-life DJ, the late Mark Kamins, accepting a tape from Madonna on which she’d scrawled “Everybody”, in a nod to how she got her debut single played to the masses in New York clubs before its official release.

Honey Dijon

Music producer Honey Dijon is one of the stars who joins in the group dance towards the end of Danceteria.

Honey previously put together the official remix of Madonna’s album track I Don’t Search I Find, before making not one but two cameos on her Celebration Tour.

Benedict Cumberbatch

The last star to make an appearance in Danceteria is arguably the biggest name of them all, Oscar nominee Benedict Cumberbatch.

He gets up close and personal with Madonna, when she grabs him by the head and makes him declare: “Everybody get up and dance.”

Feid

Madonna’s Confessions II film was how she shared with the world that album track Read My Lips would feature an appearance from the Colombian singer Feid.

After he appears in the mirror of Danceteria, he takes centre stage during the Read My Lips portion, surrounded by versions of Madonna performing on screens around him.

Lourdes Leon

Madonna definitely saved the best till last, though.

At the end of Read My Lips, her eldest daughter Lourdes Leon unmasks herself and declares “I wish a motherfucker would”, seemingly in reference to the previous lyric “shut your mouth”.

She also gets the final word of the piece, ending the I Feel So Free reprise with a “cut, bitch”.

19 Must-See Celebrity Looks From The 2026 Met Gala Red Carpet

Every year, the Met Gala gathers together some of the most famous faces from across the world of music, cinema, sport and, of course, fashion for a star-studded fundraiser in aid of the Metropolitan Museum Of Art’s Costume Institute.

This year’s event was held on Monday night, and proved to be as A-list as ever.

Co-chaired by Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams and, as ever, Anna Wintour, the themed dress code of 2026’s Met Ball was “Fashion Is Art” – really allowing the famous guests to think outside the box and let their imaginations run wild when putting together their red carpet looks.

And what do you know – some of them actually did.

On that note, we’ve pieced together some of the must-see looks from this year’s Met Gala, from some of the biggest stars on the planet…

Beyoncé

As one of the organisers of the Met Gala this year, Beyoncé will have known that all eyes were on her on the red carpet.

Leaning into the elaborate theme, the Break My Soul singer sported this glittering, skeletal-inspired look on the red carpet, where she was joined by her husband Jay-Z and eldest daughter Blue Ivy Carter, marking the 14-year-old’s Met Ball debut.

Sam Smith

Sam Smith has become renowned for their dramatic approach to fashion in recent history, and this year’s Met Ball really afforded them the chance to go all out.

Channelling Norma Desmond, the British star gave us old school Hollywood glamour in a floor-length black dress complete with bejeweled adornments, billowing sleeves and a feather headpiece.

Madonna

Madonna’s Met Gala look was a real departure from what we’re used to seeing the Queen of Pop in, opting for something more gothic, dark and, frankly, weird that we’re totally here for.

The Bring Your Love singer’s ensemble was directly inspired by a Leonora Carrington painting, in one of the night’s more literal interpretations of “Fashion Is Art”.

Janelle Monáe

Janelle Monáe brings it every single Met Ball, and a theme like “Fashion Is Art” was always going to be in their wheelhouse.

The 10-time Grammy nominee mixed the old and new with their imaginative look, which incorporated elements of nature and technology, merging moss and butterflies with wires and microchips.

Luke Evans

Dressed in head-to-toe leather, Luke Evans’ look was an obvious nod to Tom Of Finland.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight on the Met Ball red carpet, the Welsh actor said that “playing such an iconic character on stage” in the current Broadway revival of The Rocky Horror Show made him want to put a “twist” on an “iconic gay artist who has influenced so much”.

Gwendoline Christie

Former Game Of Thrones star Gwnendoline Christie has never been one to shy away from leaning into a Met Gala theme.

On Monday night, her look consisted of a massive feathered hat and a floor-length red dress nodding to faded glamour – but our favourite part of the whole ensemble was the hand-held mirror, adorned with a recreation of her own face.

Katy Perry

Perhaps inspired by her own trip to space last year, Katy Perry’s Met Gala look consisted of what appeared to be a fencing mask, with a shiny and opaque face covering on the front.

As she made her way down the red carpet, Katy revealed that the mask also swung open, adding even further to its futuristic elements (and putting us slightly in mind of a Star Wars villain).

Emma Chamberlain

We’re going to be very honest and say that content creator Emma Chamberlain was not exactly the person we thought was going to turn it out the hardest at Monday night’s event – but you can’t argue with this look can you?

In fact, the influencer may have just given us our favourite Met Gala look of 2026, with the dripping paint effect creating an optical illusion that really served the night’s theme.

Chase Infiniti

Fresh from her Oscar nomination and leading performance in the new Handmaid’s Tale spin-off The Testaments, Chase Infiniti’s Met Gala debut was also one of our favourites from this year’s event.

The One Battle After Another star’s colourful dress almost put us in mind of painting-by-numbers (in the best way!), with its graphic design.

Sarah Paulson

On its own, Sarah Paulson’s expansive, red carpet look would have been show-stopping enough, putting us in mind of a presidential ball as much as an event like the Met Gala – but that dollar bill blindfold accessory really gives it something extra.

Sadly, even though Madonna was there too, we didn’t get a recreation of one of our favourite moments in Met Ball history.

Ben Platt

One of the more literal “Fashion Is Art” ensembles came from Ben Platt, wearing a colourful suit inspired by one of Georges Pierre Seurat’s most famous works.

The Seurat painting, of course, was also the basis of the iconic Stephen Sondheim production Sunday In The Park With George, which makes Tony winner Ben wearing it all the more fitting.

SZA

SZA’s Met Gala look consisted of a layered gown in this absolutely gorgeous yellow colour, as well as a floral headpiece and some beaded face jewellery for the evening.

Our favourite part of the whole look, though, was just how much of a blast the Good Days singer was clearly having wearing it.

Lisa

Extra body parts always go down well on the Met Ball red carpet, and Lisa’s look was no exception.

The jury’s out on whether “Fashion Is Art” really came into play here, but we just think the Blackpink and White Lotus star looks really cool, to be honest.

Skepta

Another big name doing the UK proud on the Met Gala red carpet was Brit Award nominee Skepta.

The rapper made a big impression in this matching white co-ord, which he later revealed was adorned with embroidery inspired by his own tattoos, as well as his own song lyrics.

Nicole Kidman

Listen, Nicole Kidman never misses on the red carpet, but given how imaginative some people were with their looks, this feels a little out of place.

We’ve mostly mentioned it in this round-up so we can include her explanation for it.

“Fashion is art and I wanted something red, because I wanted to embrace the way in which red has been used in art through the years,” she apparently claimed.

Just fantastic stuff

Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian’s latest Met Ball look consisted of a molded bodysuit in an eye-catching shade of orange.

Again, it wasn’t exactly our favourite outfit of the evening, but given just how synonymous with the Met Gala that Kim K has become, we just had to include her, alright.

Heidi Klum

This year, Halloween came early, with Heidi Klum unveiling one of her trademark dramatic transformations six months before her usual spooky season bash.

For the 2026 Met Ball, Heidi transformed herself into a living artpiece, paying homage to 19th century sculpture with the aid of prosthetics and unconventional materials to deliver one of the night’s most talked-about looks.

Bad Bunny

And speaking of prosthetics – Bad Bunny’s look was certainly an unconventional one, too.

The recent Super Bowl headliner walked the red carpet as an older version of itself, which it’s been pointed out was a probable nod to “The Aging Body”, a key element of the Met’s Costume Institute’s exhibit this year.

Rihanna

Rihanna’s position as Queen of the Met Gala is safe for another year.

Her latest Met Ball look was another mix of the old and new – offering an unconventional silhouette and undoubtedly the night’s most intricate adornments.

We absolutely love what she did with her hair, too, with her partner A$AP Rocky also joining her on the red carpet later on, sporting a baby pink overcoat and tuxedo.

Madonna’s Bring Your Love Makes Radio 1 Playlist After Previous Ageism Row

Madonna’s latest single has pushed her back onto Radio 1’s A-list for the first time in almost two decades.

On Thursday night, the Queen of Pop released her new bop Bring Your Love as the lead single from her upcoming album Confessions II.

Produced by former collaborator Stuart Price, the house-inspired tune features vocals from Sabrina Carpenter, and was first unveiled live when the two pop stars shared the stage at Coachella last month.

Earlier this week, The Sun claimed that its youth-oriented station Radio 1 would be pushing Madonna and Sabrina’s duet on their A-list – meaning it would receive the heaviest rotation on the channel – which would be the Like A Prayer’s first time on there in 18 years.

Radio 1 then unveiled its A-list for the coming week on Friday morning, with Madonna’s new song nestled among new offerings from the likes of Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift, Zara Larsson and PinkPantheress, BTS and Sombr.

Prior to this, Madonna’s music had sparked an ageism row when Radio 1 refused to play her music.

“I thought it was so discriminatory and unfair,” she told The Sun in 2015. “Shouldn’t it be to do with whether you wrote a good, catchy pop song?

“We’ve made so many advances in other areas – civil rights, gay rights – but ageism is still an area that’s taboo and not talked about and dealt with.”

She added: “I’m so stupid. I didn’t know it was anything to do with my age. I just do my work.”

The BBC insisted at the time: “Radio 1 does not ever ban artists. Tracks are chosen on musical merit and their relevance to our young audience on a case-by-case basis and while around 40 per cent of the country’s 15- to 29-year-olds tune in to Radio 1 each week, an artist’s age is never a factor.”

Madonna claimed later that year: “Radio is ageist. If you’re not in your 20s they won’t play you on the radio. It’s bullshit – but that’s the way it is.

“It is disappointing. We live in an ageist society. I’ve tried my hardest to do whatever I can to change peoples’ perception of women, of age, of what is possible and why should any of us limit ourselves in any way, shape or form regardless of our sex, our sexual preference, our age, our religious beliefs, our race etc.

“So for me it’s shocking in this day and age where we’re now accepting gay marriages that we still treat women in a very sexist way. That’s one frontier that has not been conquered. Because if I was a man, things would be different…”

A similar debate emerged just a few years ago, when Radio 1 declined to playlist Kylie Minogue’s Padam Padam – until it became a top 10 hit.
