Mariska Hargitay Reveals The Haircut That ‘Almost’ Got Her ‘Fired’ From SVU

Bad haircuts are tough on anyone. But for Mariska Hargitay, a pixie cut led to her almost being fired from Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

The actor opened up about the cut in question during an interview with Allure, published on Wednesday.

“My hairstylist had a glass of wine and I really should have known better,” she said, joking that “Maybe he’d thought I’d be aerodynamic when I was chasing perps. I have no idea.”

“We went real short — shorter than anticipated,” Hargitay said. “I almost got fired.”

Despite the hubbub at the time, the actor says she now sees the cut as “easy, cool, and cop-like.”

Keri Russell is yet another actor who knows how a haircut can impact a person’s trajectory ― and popularity ― on a show.

She famously cut her hair for her hit show, Felicity, after creator J.J. Abrams floated the idea.

“J.J. called me over the summer,” Russell said in a 2017 interview with W Magazine. “We had shot the first season of Felicity, and he said, ‘We’re coming up with the storylines for next year. We have this idea that the boyfriend breaks up with you, and then like college girls go ― you would go and cut your hair because of this big breakup. Would you be willing to do that?’”

Russell said she agreed to make the change, which was then met with “crazy backlash.”

“My hair was curly and it was an awkward haircut, but even that I didn’t care, like I loved it,” Russell added. “I thought it was so true and great. I did not expect all the hysteria. Strangers did come up to me on the street and say things like, “You were so pretty before you cut your hair.’”

Hugh Bonneville Casts Doubt On Return To The Paddington Movies

During a recent interview with The i Paper, Hugh – who can currently be seen in action as Robert Crawley in the third and final Downton Abbey movie, The Grand Finale – admitted that the Earl Of Grantham might not be the only franchise role he’s played for the final time.

But while the British actor thinks it’s unlikely he’ll return as the iconic bear’s adoptive father, fans need not worry that this means the films are done altogether.

“I’m sure they’ll want to make more but no one is indispensable,” he said. “I think I’ve probably had my last dance on that one because I’m getting a bit old now.”

HuffPost UK has contacted the Paddington team for comment.

The W1A star, who will turn 62 later this year, last played the hapless Mr Brown in 2024’s Paddington in Peru, in which the much-loved bear returned to South America after his Aunt Lucy went missing.

If Hugh’s prediction turns out to be true, he wouldn’t be the first Paddington actor to leave the franchise.

At the time, Sally said in a statement she “felt the right time to hand the reins over to another” actor, and “one can’t get much better than” Emily.

The Oscar nominee later claimed that she had made the decision not to return as she didn’t want to do a Paddington film without director Paul King, saying it “would’ve broken my heart” to do the movie with someone else.

Hacks Star Hannah Einbinder Just Made A ‘Bittersweet’ Announcement About The Future Of The Show

Hannah Einbinder has confirmed rumours that the upcoming fifth season of Hacks will be the last.

The comedian and actor shared what she described as the “bittersweet” news while speaking to reporters on the red carpet at the Emmy Awards on Sunday night.

“We’re going to start [filming] next week, and knowing it’s the last season is really bittersweet,” she told E! host Heather McMahan. “But I think it’s right, you know?”

Hannah added that she thought the end of the fifth season was the right time to end the show, as it was better to call time on Hacks when it is still popular and loved.

“I think it’s nice to do something as many times as it should be done,” she explained on the awards show red carpet. “Not overstay your welcome. Rip it and do it and laugh and cry.”

Hacks has been an awards darling since it debuted in 2019, with Jean Smart winning an Emmy for every season she has played comedian Deborah Vance.

Series creators Lucia Aniello, Paul W. Downs, and Jen Statsky previously admitted they had a five-season plan for their hit US series. After the events of season four, the trio hinted that Hacks may go on for even longer, but sadly for fans, that is evidently no longer the case.

“We are now breaking up season five, and we have to see how many episodes it will take us to get to where we know we’re going to go,” Paul W. Downs told Variety, breaking down the events of the season four finale.

“The final scene of the final episode has been in our minds since 2015, and we’re excited to get there. But that may take more episodes than we can fit in the season.”

While there’s no official word yet on exactly when season five of Hacks will air, it’s worth noting that previous seasons have debuted in the spring.

Hannah herself won the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy and used her speech to speak her mind on numerous political causes.

Bruce Willis’ Wife Emma Admits She Was Considering Divorce Before His Dementia Diagnosis

Bruce Willis’ wife Emma Heming Willis has shared that before the actor was diagnosed with dementia, the changes in his personality had begun affecting their marriage.

During a new interview with Vanity Fair, Emma admitted that while their relationship had begun as a “romantic, beautiful story”, she had even considered divorce in the period before his diagnosis, as she said it “felt like my marriage was crumbling”.

She recalled asking herself: “What is going on? This is not the person that I married. Something is just so off.”

“I just couldn’t figure it out,” she added.

In 2022, Bruce’s family – including Emma and his first wife, Demi Moore – issued a joint statement announcing in 2022 that he was experiencing had aphasia, a condition that affects the ability to communicate.

The following year, the family disclosed that the Sixth Sense actor’s condition had progressed to frontotemporal dementia. The NHS says this rare form of dementia can cause personality and behaviour changes, problems with mental abilities and issues with memory, as well as affecting one’s ability to communicate verbally.

Since Bruce’s diagnosis, Emma and the rest of his family have regularly kept his fans updated with news of his condition, as well as posting pictures and videos on social media.

Last month, Emma revealed during an interview that Bruce had recently moved out of the family home, and into accommodation where he could be professionally cared for around the clock.

“It was one of the hardest decisions that I’ve had to make so far,” the British former model told US broadcaster Diane Sawyer. “But I knew first and foremost, Bruce would want that for our daughters. He would want them to be in a home that was more tailored to their needs, not his needs.”

Emma and Bruce share two daughters, 13-year-old Mabel and 11-year-old Evelyn.

The screen legend also has three grown-up daughters with Demi Moore, 37-year-old Rumer, 34-year-old Scout and 31-year-old Tallulah.

Jennifer Lopez Recalls Very Blunt Feedback After Trying Out For This Huge Movie Musical

Despite her success as both a chart-topping singer and award-winning actor, Jennifer Lopez had never actually merged the two together and appeared in a big-screen musical until she landed her upcoming role in the new film Kiss Of The Spider Woman.

However, she’s revealed that wasn’t for lack of trying.

J-Lo has previously spoken out about how she has tried out for roles in various musical films over the years, and during a recent Q&A after a screening of her film, she reflected on her audition for the 1996 movie adaptation of Evita.

“I went in to audition for Evita, for Alan Parker,” she recalled, referring to the late six-time Oscar nominee who helmed the film. “I had been practising for weeks, and I sang my heart out. And he goes, ‘you’re amazing’.”

Unfortunately, his feedback didn’t end there, as he then told her: “You know Madonna has the part, right?”

“I said, ‘OK, bye bye. Nice to meet you’,” Jen then concluded.

Indeed, it was J-Lo’s fellow pop icon Madonna who played Eva Perón in the film version of Andrew Lloyd Webber, earning the Like A Prayer singer her first Golden Globe win.

Earlier this year, Jennifer also revealed how she tried out for a part in the film version of Chicago, as well as “getting very close” to being cast in Nine.

“There were a lot of things that I had always hoped that I could do and just wasn’t the right time. But this is the right thing,” she said, referring to her role in Kiss Of The Spider Woman.

Kiss Of The Spider Woman was directed by Bill Condon, who has previously helmed Dreamgirls and Disney’s live-action remake of Beauty And The Beast, as well as co-writing the film versions of Chicago and The Greatest Showman.

The new movie sees J-Lo playing fictional screen diva Ingrid Luna opposite Tonatiuh and Diego Luna.
