While Dan said that a CT scan confirmed he was OK, he has been instructed to rest for a couple of days, meaning he risks falling behind his fellow Strictly competitors as they prepare for the first live show next Saturday.
Sharing photos on himself in hospital, Dan wrote on Instagram: “Bit of head-based drama today! After whacking my noggin on the big glass window yesterday I got sent to A & E today because I was feeling a little wobbly.
“A lovely nurse at Barnet Hospital called Karina checked my vitals and 6ft 9 Consultant Erik Witt gave me a CT scan to check for a bleed on the brain. Thankfully… all ok.”
He continued: “I’ve got to rest for a couple of days – so I’ll be a bit behind – but ready to dig in again next week.”
Dan also paid tribute to his as-yet-unannounced Strictly dance partner, revealing she “waited for hours in the car park to make sure I was ok”.
“Whatever happens on the telly… she has a friend for life,” he added.
Filming on this year’s pre-recorded Strictly launch show was completed last week, with the episode set to air on Saturday night.
It will see all 15 of this year’s celebrities find out who their dance partner is, while they will also perform in their first group number.
Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturday at 7.45pm on BBC One.
Nicki Minaj has claimed she’s in “Twitter jail” after she posted a string of infamous posts about the Covid-19 vaccine – and the social media site has something to say about it.
Earlier this week, the rapper raised eyebrows when she claimed that she would not be attending the Met Gala as organisers were requiring guests to be vaccinated.
In a tweet that has since been widely debunked, she wrote: “My cousin in Trinidad won’t get the vaccine cuz his friend got it & became impotent. His testicles became swollen.
“His friend was weeks away from getting married, now the girl called off the wedding. So just pray on it & make sure you’re comfortable with ur decision, not bullied.”

However, on Wednesday night, Nicki claimed she was in “Twitter jail” as a result of her tweets.

“I’m in Twitter jail y’all,” she wrote on her Instagram story. “They didn’t like what I was saying over there on that block, I guess.”
She added that she’d planned to post a Twitter poll with the options “asking questions is OK” and “I like being fking dumb” only to find “boom – can’t tweet”.
A spokesperson for Twitter has denied taking action on Nicki’s account, saying (via The Daily Beast): “Twitter did not take any enforcement action on the account referenced.”
Prior to this, Nicki also claimed she’d been invited to discuss her views at the White House, tweeting: “The White House has invited me & I think it’s a step in the right direction. Yes, I’m going.
“I’ll be dressed in all pink like Legally Blonde so they know I mean business. I’ll ask questions on behalf of the ppl who have been made fun of for simply being human.”

A White House spokesperson later insisted they’d actually only offered Nicki the chance to speak to their medical officials over the phone.
“As we have with others, we offered a call with Nicki Minaj and one of our doctors to answer questions she has about the safety and effectiveness of the vaccine,” they added.
Shortly after the news of Mary’s death was confirmed, it was announced that Andy Michael had also died following a short illness at the age of 61.
Andy had appeared on the show since the very first series, alongside his wife Carolyne and their children Alex and Louis, with their two other children Katy and Pascal also making occasional appearances over the years.
It’s now been confirmed that Carolyne, Alex, Louis, Marina and Linda have all decided not to return to Gogglebox.

Executive producer Victoria Ray told The Sun: “We have had people from the show pass away recently.
“We lost Mary and Andy, and a little while ago we lost Pete. Their loved ones won’t be taking part in the show for the moment. Understandably, they want their privacy.”
She added to Daily Star that all five of the stars have the option to return to Gogglebox in the future if they would like to.
Collecting the award on behalf of the hit show were the Malone and Sandiford families, who have been presenting their commentary on Gogglebox for the past seven and four years, respectively.
During the Malones’ acceptance speech, mum Julie took a moment to pay her respects to members of the Gogglebox family who had recently died.
“On a sad note, I’d like to [dedicate] this award to all the people we’ve lost in the past 18 months,” she said.
The new series of Gogglebox kicks off on Channel 4 at 9pm on Friday 17 September.
Britney Spears has put fans’ minds at ease when many grew concerned after her Instagram page had seemingly been deactivated.
On Tuesday night, many Britney fans noticed that her Instagram page had been wiped, which swiftly generated a lot of conversation online.
The fact that the chart-topping singer’s Instagram has been the primary way she’s communicated with fans during her recent legal battles added to people’s worries, but a post on her Twitter page has reassured her followers that it was Britney’s decision to remove the page.
Britney and Sam announced their engagement last week, which the singer later teased him about on Instagram, suggesting his proposal was “way overdue”.
In response for calls for the Everytime star to make her new fiancé sign a prenuptial agreement, Sam later joked: “Thank you everyone who is concerned about the prenup.
“Of course we’re getting an iron clad prenup to protect my jeep and shoe collection in case she dumps me one day.”
After a year out, the Met Gala was back with a bang on Monday night.
While the annual A-list event is famously held on the first Monday in May, organisers clearly felt that this would simply be too long to make us wait in 2021, so decided to throw together a little something for September.
A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department told the BBC that the 31-year-old was safe. They would not provide further details.

A tweet from the FindTanyaFear Twitter account, which is run by her family, said: “It is with great pleasure and relief to report that Tanya has been found safe by police today.
“We understand she is not physically harmed but as a precaution, is being assessed at a local hospital.
“We wish to thank police, members of the public for their efforts in locating Tanya, as well as the outpouring of concern and support over the last several days.

Tanya has been found!! We are extremely grateful to every single member of the public who helped in finding her. We couldn’t have done it without you 🙏🏾❤️ pic.twitter.com/f74REMH9K7
A statement posted on the Twitter account earlier on Monday said she left without her mobile phone or purse and was reported missing by a friend.
Her mother, Yvonne Marimo, said at the time: “I am devastated about this situation, and I appeal to anyone with information to please come forward to bring our daughter back home safely”.
As well as appearing in Doctor Who as Dr Jade McIntyre alongside Jodie Whittaker in 2018, Tanya has also had roles in Endeavour, DCI Banks, Cleaning Up and Spotless.
She also appeared in the movie Kick-Ass 2 and had recently started doing stand-up comedy after arriving in Los Angeles two months ago.
Katie Price has shut down media speculation about her relationship with fiancé Carl Woods.
Over the weekend, The Sun published an article claiming that the reality star had been overheard at the National Television Awards saying she’d ended things with Carl.
However, posting on her Instagram story on Sunday, Katie insisted that this was not the case.
Alongside a screenshot of the tabloid’s headline “Katie Price dumped fiancé Carl Woods and went on booze bender at the NTAs”, she wrote: “It’s such a shame having such a good night these awful stories about me coming out.”

“In fact, I never went out and said I’ve dumped Carl,” Katie continued. “This is not true, I was actually proud to be with my son Harvey. I wish people would leave me [and] Carl alone.”
Katie attended the NTAs with her 19-year-old son Harvey on Thursday night, where their documentary Katie Price: Harvey & Me had been nominated for an award.

A “short time later”, a 32-year-old man was arrested “on suspicion of assault, theft and coercive and controlling behaviour”. The man was later released on bail.
Dismissing rumours about the incident, Carl insisted: “I have remained quiet until now due to the investigation being carried out by the police. However, I have found it so difficult to keep quiet on social media due to the speculation and shocking abuse that I have received.
“Anybody who thinks I hit Katie, you’re completely delusional and have no idea of the reality of the situation. I have never and never would do anything to hurt Katie. The truth will be told.”
Katie is mother to five children, from previous relationships with footballer Dwight Yorke and her ex-husbands Peter Andre and Kieran Hayler.
She and Carl, a car dealer and former Love Island participant, announced their engagement in April 2021, after just under a year of dating.
Conor McGregor has called Machine Gun Kelly a “little vanilla boy rapper” after the Irish UFC star appeared to throw a punch at the rapper on the MTV VMAs red carpet on Sunday night.
Pictures from the event appeared to show Conor and Machine Gun Kelly being kept apart by security.
The former UFC champion attended the ceremony at the Barclays Centre in New York with his partner Dee Devlin, while the US musician arrived with his Hollywood actor girlfriend Megan Fox.

Following the red carpet altercation, the Dublin-born fighter insisted that “nothing” had happened.
“Absolutely nothing. I don’t know. He showed up, and I don’t know. I don’t know the guy,” Conor told Entertainment Tonight,
“Nothing happened with me, I only fight real fighters, people that actually fight, you know what I mean.
“I certainly don’t fight little vanilla boy rappers. I don’t even know the guy. I don’t know anything about him, except that he’s with Megan Fox.”

Machine Gun Kelly, whose real name is Colson Baker, was also asked about the alleged altercation but walked away without answering the question.
Both men later appeared during the VMAs ceremony.

Conor, who is walking with a cane after suffering a serious leg injury in his latest fight in July, was on hand to award Justin Bieber his artist of the year prize.
Machine Gun Kelly was also among the night’s winners, taking home the prize for best alternative in recognition of his song My Ex’s Best Friend.
He and Transformers star Megan have been dating since last year.
Ashton Kutcher put in an appearance on a US sports show on Saturday, but his commentary about an upcoming football game was almost drowned out by the crowd.
The routine (or lack of) also extends to the couple’s children, now aged 4 and 6, with Mila revealing that when they were babies, she “wasn’t that parent that bathed my newborns, ever.” Ashton chimed in that they now clean the kids if they “can see the dirt on them.”
But during ESPN’s live College Game Day commentary segment on Saturday, Ashton’s comments came back to haunt him.
As he attempted to share his predictions from the commentary box on the Iowa vs. Iowa State football game, the crowd in the stadium can be clearly heard chanting “Take a shower”.
Ashton and Mila aren’t the only stars who are a little bit soap-shy.
The Brokeback Mountain star told Vanity Fair: “More and more I find bathing to be less necessary, at times…. I do also think that there’s a whole world of not bathing that is also really helpful for skin maintenance, and we naturally clean ourselves.”
Meanwhile, Cardi B, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Jason Momoa have all gone out of their way to make it clear that they frequently shower and are not impressed at some of the revelations from fellow celebrities.
It’s a full-circle moment for the actor, who was the first ever star to appear on the show when it launched in 2003.
In the teaser clip, Jennifer breaks down in tears as she walks out to greet the host in front of a fully masked studio audience.
“What the hell? This is not supposed to be emotional. God dang it,” Jennifer says.

Jen then jokes she had barely left the house in two years, before taking Ellen to task about the state of a welcome mat she gifted her when the show first started.
Late night host Jimmy Kimmel will be the first guest on the final season of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, with actress Tiffany Haddish, Kim Kardashian West and social media stars Charli and Dixie D’Amelio also appearing.
The final series of Ellen’s show comes in the wake of July 2020 reports of a “toxic” work culture on the show.
After that report, Warner Bros. said parent company WarnerMedia launched an investigation that revealed “some flaws in the show’s daily management.” The studio also said it was “disappointed that the primary findings of the investigation indicated some deficiencies related to the show’s day-to-day management.”
Before the workplace scandal, Ellen was one of the most popular personalities on US TV, known for her “be kind” mantra, often taking part in lavish giveaways or acts of charity.
