Line Of Duty Fans Want ‘Justice For Chloe’ After Divisive Finale Episode

Mother of god – be warned that this article contains Line Of Duty spoilers of the highest order.

While the Line Of Duty finale may have got something of a mixed reaction online, one thing fans can agree on is that there’s an unsung hero of AC-12 who isn’t getting the praise she deserves.

We are, of course, talking about DC Chloe Bishop.

After series six of the BBC police drama concluded on Sunday night, fans pointed out that in the short time she’s been at AC-12, Chloe succeeded in cracking a case the force had been working on for the past few series.

Many also highlighted the fact that Shalom Brune-Franklin’s character didn’t even get an invite to the pub after all her hard work, with some even sharing the hashtag #JusticeForChloe after watching the episode…

Shalom Brune-Franklin was one of Line Of Duty’s new additions when the sixth series finally returned to our screens earlier this year.

Before joining the AC-12 gang, Shalom could be seen in the military drama Our Girl and made a brief appearance in the Marvel film Thor: Ragnarok.

One of the most controversial aspects of the Line Of Duty finale was the revelation that DSU Ian Buckells was the “fourth man” behind “H” all along.

Nigel Boyle has played Buckells in three series of Line Of Duty

Addressing fans’ disappointment the morning after the episode aired, actor Nigel Boyle said: “There’s always going to be some element of disappointment. You can’t have every series with a big shoot out and ‘urgent exit required’. Sometimes a subtler message is more important.”

He added: “If your expectations are somewhere, you’re setting yourself up sometimes for disappointment.

“That’s not to say that all the fans are doing that – [but] everyone’s got their own ideas and theories about how something’s going to pan out, and if everyone does that then someone’s not going to be happy somewhere along the line.”

All six series of Line Of Duty are now available to stream on the BBC iPlayer.

Linda Robson Sets Record Straight On Rumours Of Rift With Former Birds Of A Feather Co-Star Pauline Quirke

Linda Robson has shot down rumours she has fallen out with former Birds of A Feather co-star Pauline Quirke

There were rumours of a rift between the pair after Pauline decided not to reprise her role as Sharon Theodopolopodous in the sitcom’s Christmas special last year.

Linda has now said the pair remain firm friends and Pauline skipped the reunion because she’s keen to step away from the limelight.

She told The Sun: “Take no notice of what you’ve heard about me and Pauline falling out. It’s a load of old codswallop.

“Pauline just chose not to do Birds Of A Feather. She wants to concentrate on her acting academy, that’s that.

“We’ve known each other since we were ten. We’re friends. Will Pauline return to the show? I don’t know.

“I just know that the Christmas special went down really well. ITV were really, really pleased.”

Linda also remains close to Lesley Joseph, who plays Dorien Green in Birds of a Feather.

She shared: “Lesley lives close to me in Wandsworth so I’d go with my husband and we leave things on her doorstep.

“It’s mostly funny things like lady’s tweezers to pluck the hair on her chin, them sort of things, funny things.

“And then some flowers and that. But Pauline lives in Buckinghamshire so it’s not as easy to get to hers. I’ve not left any funny things on her doorsteps.”

Birds Of A Feather originally aired for nine series on BBC One between 1989 and 1999, before returning to ITV in 2014, where it has aired three full series and four Christmas specials.

Gogglebox’s Pete Sandiford’s Holey Pants Truly Redefine The Term ‘Shreddies’

We get it, sometimes throwing out tatty old stuff that you’ve become attached to can be hard, but we think Gogglebox’s Pete Sandiford might be taking that a bit too far.

The Channel 4 star left his sister Sophie in stitches on the latest episode of the hit show when he revealed a pair of boxers that truly redefine the term shreddies

On Friday’s show, Pete proudly showed off his holey pants, which he’s had for over 10 years.

“I daren’t part with them – I’ve had them since I was 15!” he said.

“I mean my first question is, how have you got a fiancée?’, Sophie joked.

“She’s been asking me to bin them for the whole time I’ve known her,” Pete said.

“You need to bin them,” Sophie concluded.

“No, there’s another couple of years left in these,” Pete said.

Pete revealed he was engaged to girlfriend Paige Yeomans when Gogglebox returned for a new series in February.

In April, he announced he and Paige were expecting their first child together.

Pete’s pants isn’t the only NSFW moment the show has had in recent weeks.

Viewers got to see a little bit more of Stephen Webb than they probably wanted when he was seen modelling a pair of jodhpurs, and let’s just say they left very little to the imagination.

Gogglebox airs on Fridays at 9pm on Channel 4.

Line Of Duty star Shalom Brune-Franklin has revealed how she had no idea what show she was auditioning for when she first tried out for the BBC cop drama.

The actor, who plays AC-12 newcomer DC Chloe Bishop, admitted she “freaked out” after turning up at the audition and seeing a script that revealed the show she would be reading for.

In an interview with The Times (£), Shalom explained: “Things have working titles so you don’t always know what they are and the script said LOD6.

“When I opened it, the first line Chloe had was an AC-12 interview. I was absolutely freaking out. There was so much to learn.”

Shalom revealed she first auditioned for the part of DC Bishop at the start of February 2020, and there was around a week before she got the job, with filming starting shortly afterwards.

Of joining the established cast, she said: “I turned up to the read-through and there were all these mega British actors that I’ve loved and adored for so long.

“Adrian [Dunbar, aka Superintendent Hastings] is hilarious. Vicky [McClure, DI Fleming] is amazing and very funny. Martin [Compston, DI Arnott] was my rock — he would say, ‘Don’t worry, we’ve got the whole day to film this, and if you mess up we’ll go back to the beginning and start again. But you’ll be fine.’

“I honestly could not speak more highly of them all.”

ITV Pulls Final Episode Of Viewpoint Following Noel Clarke Misconduct Allegations

ITV has announced it has pulled the final episode of Viewpoint, after allegations of sexual misconduct were made about its leading actor, Noel Clarke.

On Thursday, The Guardian published accusations of misconduct from 20 women who know and have worked with Clarke.

Clarke has denied all of these allegations.

Following this, an ITV representative confirmed that the final episode of Viewpoint – the first four episodes of which went out earlier in the week – would not air on Friday night as planned.

“ITV has a zero tolerance policy to bullying, harassment and victimisation and robust procedures in place to investigate and deal with any complaints,” a spokesperson said.

“We strongly believe that everyone deserves to work in a supportive and safe environment. In light of the very serious nature of the allegations against Noel Clarke raised by 20 women in the Guardian’s report, ITV has decided it is no longer appropriate to broadcast the final episode of the drama Viewpoint on ITV main channel this evening.”

They added: “We are mindful that some of our viewers have already invested four hours of their time over the past four nights in following this thriller which was due to conclude this evening, and they have yet to see the final episode.

“As such we plan to make it available on ITV Hub tonight for a limited time for any viewers who wish to seek it out, and watch its conclusion.”

The final episode of Viewpoint will be available to watch on the ITV Hub until Sunday, after which the show will be removed.

Denying the misconduct allegations levelled against him, Clarke previously said in a statement: “In a 20-year career, I have put inclusivity and diversity at the forefront of my work and never had a complaint made against me. If anyone who has worked with me has ever felt uncomfortable or disrespected, I sincerely apologise.

“I vehemently deny any sexual misconduct or wrongdoing and intend to defend myself against these false allegations.”

Bafta previously announced that it was suspending Clarke’s membership and outstanding British contribution to cinema award, which he was handed earlier this month, until further notice.

A representative said: “In light of the allegations of serious misconduct regarding Noel Clarke in The Guardian, Bafta has taken the decision to suspend his membership and the Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema award immediately and until further notice.”

Sky TV has also halted production on projects featuring Clarke, including the planned fourth series of the police drama Bulletproof.

Management and production company 42 M&P said it stopped representing Clarke earlier this month.

A spokesperson said: “Noel Clarke was a client of 42M&P until April this year but the company no longer represents him.”

Clarke wrote and starred in the acclaimed film trilogy Kidulthood, Adulthood and Brotherhood, and directed two of them.

Line Of Duty Series 6 Finale Trailer Reveals Answers Are ‘Definitely’ Coming And We’ve Got Goosebumps

If you were worried the Line Of Duty finale might leave things up in the air, rest assured that answers are “definitely” coming.

The BBC has released a new trailer for the final episode, which suggests the identity of ‘the fourth man’ – otherwise known as ‘H’ – will be revealed.

The 30 second clip teases that “every investigation has led to this”, as it lines up key suspects DCS Patrica Carmichael, Chief Constable Philip Osborne, Superintendent Ted Hastings, DI Kate Fleming and ex-officer Marcus Thurwell.

BBC

The identity of ‘the fourth man’ will be revealed

It also previews other dramatic events in store, including another armed face-off AC-12 have with members of the OCG as they look to secure the suspect.

BBC

Arnott and Fleming have an armed shoot-out with OCG members

DCI Jo Davidson also faces an uncertain future, following her imprisonment in Sunday’s episode.

The former MIT boss – who was revealed to be in league with organised crime due to her family connection to Tommy Hunter – is seen being transferred in a van with a corrupt prison officer, suggesting she could await the same fate as her birth father. Hunter was killed in series two after bent officers staged an ambush on his police convoy to stop him revealing their identities as he entered witness protection.

BBC

Does Davidson await the same fate as her birth father, Tommy Hunter?

There is also another ominous misspelling of the word “definite”, which has been a known trait of ‘H’, and indeed of Ted Hastings…

BBC

We know that ‘H’ cannot spell “definite”

The internet is already flooded with theories ahead of Sunday night’s finale, as many fans believe Marcus Thurwell is actually alive, after the character was found dead at his Spanish villa – and some of then claim to have the proof

Suspicions have also been raised about DCS Carmichael, as some viewers spotted what they believe might be a clue that confirms she’s ‘H’

Line Of Duty concludes on Sunday at 9pm on BBC One.

John Lydon Blasts Danny Boyle’s Upcoming Sex Pistols Biopic: ‘It’s A Disgrace’

Sex Pistols star John Lydon has blasted an upcoming biopic based on the group, branding the upcoming venture “the most disrespectful shit I’ve ever had to endure”.

Filming is currently underway on Pistol, a new miniseries directed by Danny Boyle, which is based on guitarist Steve Jones’ 2018 book Lonely Boy: Tales From A Sex Pistol.

In a new interview with the Sunday Times, John – who was known under the stage name Johnny Rotten when the Sex Pistols debuted in the 1970s – blasted the show, claiming it was greenlit without his consent.

He also told the publication that he was seeking legal advice about the show, in which he’ll be portrayed by 1917 actor Anson Boon.

“I think that’s the most disrespectful shit I’ve ever had to endure,” he said. “I mean, they went to the point to hire an actor to play me but what’s the actor working on? Certainly not my character.”

“It can’t go anywhere else [but court],” he continued.

John added: “Sorry, you think you can do this, like walk all over me – it isn’t going to happen. Not without a huge, enormous fucking fight.

“I’m Johnny, you know, and when you interfere with my business you’re going to get the bitter end of my business as a result. It’s a disgrace.”

A rep for Pistol told the Sunday Times claimed that Danny Boyle had contacted John Lydon’s management company about Pistol but “ultimately direct contact was declined”.

The View’s Joy Behar Apologises After Repeatedly Misgendering Caitlyn Jenner On Air

The View panellist Joy Behar has apologised after repeatedly misgendering Caitlyn Jenner during a recent segment on the US daytime show.

On Friday, Joy repeatedly used “he” and “him” pronouns when referring to Caitlyn – who came out as transgender in 2016 – following the news that the Olympian and reality star is running for governor of California.

After correcting herself at the time, Joy addressed the “mix-up” on air, when the show returned from a commercial break.

“So first of all let me apologise for my pronoun mix-up. I think I just didn’t get enough sleep last night,” she told viewers.

Joy continued: “I had no intention of mixing [the pronouns] up, and I tried to correct it immediately… but whatever. It just came out. So I’m sorry if anybody was upset by that.”

Two weeks after it was first rumoured that Caitlyn was looking into running for governor of California, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star confirmed her plans on Friday.

California has been my home for nearly 50 years. I came here because I knew that anyone, regardless of their background or station in life, could turn their dreams into reality,” she said.

“But for the past decade, we have seen the glimmer of the Golden State reduced by one-party rule that places politics over progress and special interests over people. Sacramento needs an honest leader with a clear vision.”

When it comes to politics, Caitlyn has been a contentious figure, not least as a result of her on-off support for former US leader Donald Trump in the lead up to and during his presidency.

However, last year, Caitlyn told People magazine that she’s “changed my thinking in a lot of ways” in recent years. She now identifies as “economically conservative, socially progressive” and believes “we need equality for all, regardless of who’s in the White House”.

“I love my community. I truly want to help,” she said at the time. “This is my journey. Yes, it is different than other trans people. I get it. But the bottom line is this: When I wake up in the morning, I’m happy with myself.”

Nicola Coughlan And Kim Kardashian’s Bridgerton Love-In On Twitter Has Warmed Our Hearts

Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan could not control her excitement after finding out Kim Kardashian was a fan of her’s – and it appears the feeling was very much mutual.

The pair shared a Twitter love-in after the actor revealed the Kardashians were a source of inspiration for her on the set of the hit Netflix period drama.

On Tuesday, Nicola tweeted: “As the world’s number one @bridgerton Stan does @KimKardashian know that the Kardashians were a massive inspiration for the Featheringtons and we talked about them all the time during our fittings? Because I feel like she should know this.”

And sure enough, it wasn’t long before Nicola’s tweet caught Kim’s attention, and her mind was blown.

“WHAT?!?! I am freaking out!!!!!!” Kim wrote. “This tweet was sent to me on my @bridgerton group chat! Can I please come to a fitting?!?! It would make my whole life!!!!!! I love you Lady W!!!”

Nicola. whose Bridgerton character Penelope Featherington was revealed to be the mysterious Lady Whistledown, replied: “Omg yesss of course we would love to have you!

“Also did you know that Mr Pearl made your corset for the Met Gala and the very next one he made was mine for Bridgerton? You’ve been part of the Bridgerton world for longer than you know.”

Kim then tweeted: “OMG I’m gonna faint!!!!!! Does this make me an honorary Duchess in Bridgerton ?!?!?!? I am the corset Queen!!!”

Nicola then gave her the ultimate honour, tweeting: “Why of course, Duchess Kardashian of Calabasas! Lady Whistledown is happy to declare you the season’s true incomparable.”

“I will wear this title proudly and not let you down Lady Whistledown!” Kim insisted.

Speaking to her followers, who were living for the exchange as much as she was, Nicola tweeted: “You know I’ve loved Kim for like over a decade, I can’t even deal.”

There’s a real possibility of Kim’s dreams coming true too, as earlier this month, it was confirmed that a third and fourth series of Bridgerton have now been commissioned, on top of a previously-announced second season.

Jonathan Bailey’s character Anthony Bridgerton will take centre stage in the second series, with Sex Education star Simone Ashley joining the cast as Kate, a new love interest for him.

However, it has been confirmed that Regé-Jean Page will not be appearing in the second series as the Duke Of Hastings, which did not go down well with fans.

The show’s producer Shonda Rhimes has since spoken out to deny reports that Regé-Jean turned down an offer to appear in another series

Bridgerton is available to stream on Netflix now.

This includes Hugh Bonneville, who tweeted shortly after the announcement, and his on-screen wife Elizabeth McGovern.
