Jeremy Renner Finally Explains The Real Reason He Left The Mission: Impossible Franchise

Jeremy Renner had a pretty good reason to exit the Mission: Impossible franchise.

“I had to leave that,” the actor told Collider in an interview published on Monday. “I was supposed to do more with them. I love those guys. I love Tom [Cruise] so much. We had so much fun, and I love that character a lot.”

However, he noted that making the films “requires a lot of time away”.

“It’s all in London,” he added. “I had to go be a dad.”

Jeremy had starred as William Brandt in 2011′s Ghost Protocol and 2015′s Rogue Nation amid reports that he might replace Tom Cruise as the Mission: Impossible lead.

But Renner left the action film series before its highest-grossing entry, 2018′s Fallout. Director Christopher McQuarrie said at the time that a scheduling conflict had prevented Jeremy from appearing in the film.

Speaking to Collider, though the actor emphasised that reprising his role “just wasn’t gonna work out then” since he was raising a young child, Ava Berlin Renner.

“Maybe now that my daughter is older that could happen,” Jeremy said. “I’d always jump into a Mission: Impossible anytime and back into Brandt. It’s great.”

The first Mission: Impossible movie was released in 1996, and although it was a hit, later entries turned the franchise into a bona fide box-office behemoth.

Not only has Mission: Impossible raked in billions worldwide, but helped make Tom Cruise perhaps the most famous Hollywood star turned stuntman with his death-defying showstoppers.

Meanwhile, in the years following Rogue Nation, Jeremy would continue to appear as the superhero Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

He proved to be a real-life superhero at the start of 2023 when he reportedly prevented a snowplough from hitting his nephew.

Though the actor nearly died in the incident, he recently told late night host Jimmy Fallon that it taught him some valuable lessons.

“I won’t have a bad day for the rest of my life,” he said. “It’s impossible.”

Hugh Jackman Spills On ‘Hardest Bit’ Of Preparation For His Wolverine Return

Hugh Jackman has opened up about the “hardest” adjustment he made while gearing up to play Wolverine again this summer.

The Australian actor — who stars alongside Ryan Reynolds in the upcoming superhero film Deadpool & Wolverine — told People magazine that he was pumped to prepare for his big screen return as the iconic mutant.

“My body was a little sore at the beginning, but I was thrilled that my body was still responding. And I realised how good it is for your brain. But the hardest bit… the food,” said Hugh, who initially decided that he’d retire from playing Wolverine after Logan in 2017.

Hugh, who shared a snapshot of his apparent 8,000-calorie diet days on social media early last year, acknowledged that he had to “eat a lot” for the role.

“For me, for my body type, I’m naturally skinny. To get the size on, that’s the hardest bit. That’s the bit that does my head in,” said the Greatest Showman star, who previously told CNN’s Chris Wallace that he’d make it his “job” to train for the part in Deadpool & Wolverine.

Ryan noted that five or six meals a day might sound “great” to some people.

“But it’s not like the type of food that you would really necessarily enjoy,” he said.

Ryan, who is set to star in his third Deadpool movie, noted to People that he “couldn’t believe” Hugh’s change in physicality.

“Just the sheer relentlessness that you dedicated yourself towards stunts, choreography. It was the first time I’d ever seen how invaluable a background in song and dance is when you are doing an action movie,” he said.

Ryan continued: “You hit your marks in those fight scenes with speed and confidence, the likes of which I have never seen. I don’t care if you were 25, 35, 45 or 55. It was lightning.”

Deadpool & Wolverine is set to hit cinemas on July 26.

Ayo Edebiri Proves She Can Literally Do Everything In This Behind-The-Scenes Clip Recording Inside Out 2 Lines

As if we needed another reason to be even more obsessed with Ayo Edebiri…

From her stand-out roles in The Bear, Theater Camp and Bottoms to her commitment to the bit as the new Irish people’s princess, the award-winning comic actor knows the way to our hearts.

A new clip of Ayo has been doing the rounds on social media this week, revealing just how multi-talented a performer she really is.

She’s part of the cast of Disney’s new Inside Out sequel, which is slated for release next month, nine years after we were first introduced to Riley Andersen and the many emotions who live inside her head.

With Riley turning 13 in the second instalment, Inside Out 2 welcomes some intriguing new characters into the mix, including Anxiety, Ennui, Embarrassment and Envy, who Ayo lends her voice to.

In a behind-the-scenes snippet showing Ayo energetically recording her lines, fans have been blown away by just how effortless the star made it look.

“Perfect casting,” one X user enthused, while another agreed: “No need for a trailer after this.”

“Didn’t know I’d be jumping up and down for Inside Out 2 but here we are,” a third shared.

Unsurprisingly, it’s been a pretty unanimous response…

Inside Out 2 will also star returning cast members Amy Poehler as Joy, The Office’s Phyllis Smith as Sadness and Lewis Black as Anger, though Bill Hadar’s Fear has been recast to Tony Hale and Mindy Kaling’s Disgust to Liza Lapira.

Riley will also be voiced by Kensington Tallman, who’s replacing Kaitlyn Dias.

New cast members include Stranger Things’ Maya Hawke as Anxiety, Passages’ Adèle Exarchopoulos as Ennui, Black Bird’s Paul Walter Hauser as Embarrassment and Nebraska’s June Squibb as Nostalgia.

Inside Out 2 is due for release on Friday 14 June.

This Eerie Clip For Demi Moore’s Graphic New Body Horror Lets Us Know What We’re In For

The Coralie Fargeat horror centres around an older actor in Hollywood, who uses a mysterious drug to create a “younger, more beautiful” version of herself.

Following The Substance’s premiere on Sunday, a first-look clip of the film has now been released, depicting Demi’s character as she’s first introduced to the drug that can create her supposed younger “clone”.

The 44-second teaser may be unnerving, but it doesn’t contain any of the graphic content that has already made The Substance such a stand-out at Cannes.

However, a newly-released still from the film does hint more at what viewers should expect, depicting a nude woman with stitches up her back lying on a floor, while a cloaked figure stands over her.

Production company Mubi has confirmed that The Substance will be getting a cinema release here in the UK, although further information is yet to be released.

Slipped right back into your boyband obsession phase after watching The Idea Of You? Well, join the club.

The new film stars Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine as a divorced single mother and jet-setting lead singer of a hit pop group who share a whirlwind romance.

Based on the 2017 book written by actor-turned-author Robinne Lee, the story is thought to be at least partly inspired by One Direction’s Harry Styles, although its writer previously insisted to Vogue that the book was as much “a story about a woman approaching 40 and reclaiming her sexuality and rediscovering herself” as it is fan-fiction about the As It Was singer.

Of course, viewers will already know Oscar winner and all-round screen icon Anne Hathaway (who plays Solène in the film) from her many famous roles ranging from The Princess Diaries to The Devil Wears Prada, but who are the boys behind August Moon?

Here’s where you might have seen the rest of the cast before…

Nicholas Galitzine

Like the rest of the world, we can’t stop talking about (or watching) Nicholas Galitzine right now. You might have first seen the British star in the Prime Video’s queer romcom hit Red, White & Royal Blue or Purple Hearts before that.

He’s also appeared in a string of other films in recent years including Bottoms, Cinderella, Handsome Devil and Share. As for TV, he stars alongside Julianne Moore in new TV mini series Mary & George, which follows his role in the 2019 horror TV series Chambers.

Viktor White

If Simon moves in The Idea Of You looked familiar, that’s because Viktor White – who plays the August Moon star –i is already a hugely popular dancer online, with a TikTok following of 8.4 million.

Viktor dances under the handle @itzslavik, and has previously gone viral for performances to artists like Michael Jackson and Bruno Mars.

He also had a role as a hip-hop dancer in Catherine Hardwicke’s 2022 film Prisoner’s Daughter starring Brian Cox and Kate Beckinsale. However, The Idea Of You marks his first big foray into acting.

Raymond Cham Jr

Raymond plays Oliver in The Idea Of You, although “Moonheads” might already recognise the actor for his recurring TV role as Mark Walker in the US sci-fi series Mech-X4.

He also showed off his moves in the dance drama The Big Leap, appeared in the queer comedy Sort Of and starred in a memorable episode of Grey’s Anatomy, playing Phillip, a young man injured in a tunnel collapse in season 11′s Time Stops.

Dakota Adan

Dakota plays band member Rory in the film, which actually marks his first major movie role.

His only previous on-screen credit is appearing as a dancer in five episodes of teen series East Los High – but he’s also a poet as well as a performer.

Jaiden Anthony

The Idea Of You is also Jaiden’s first ever film credit.

However, before landing the part of August Moon’s Adrian, the professional dancer featured in commercial campaigns for Beyoncé, danced in a music video for Lauv and performed at the 2022 VMAs on stage with Khalid and Marshmello.

Grease Star Susan Buckner Has Died, Aged 72

Grease star Susan Buckner has died at the age of 72.

Susan was best known to fans of the much-loved movie musical for her performance as high school cheerleader Patty Simcox, an early friend of Olivia Newton-John’s character Sandy.

A publicist for the late actor confirmed to People that she died “peacefully” on Thursday 2 May “surrounded by loved ones”.

Her daughter Samantha Mansfield also told the US magazine: “The light she brought into every room will be missed forever. She was magic, and I was very lucky to call her my best friend.”

No cause of death was given in Susan’s family’s statement.

Before landing the role of enthusiastic cheerleader Patty Simcox in Grease, Susan was a beauty pageant winner, taking the title of Miss Washington before going on to compete in Miss America in 1972.

She went on to appear as Krofftette in a string of episodes of The Brady Bunch Hour, as well as the hit 70s shows The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries, Starsky & Hutch and The Love Boat.

Following this, she landed the role in the hit film adaptation of Grease, sharing scenes with John Travolta, Stockard Channing and the late Olivia Newton-John.

Susan later went on to appear in the 1981 Wes Craven slasher Deadly Blessing and the sixth instalment in the Police Academy film franchise, after which People reported that she stepped back from the entertainment industry to focus on raising her family.

Per Sky News, Susan is survived by her son and daughter, Adam and Samantha, grandchildren Oliver, Riley, Abigail and Ruby as well as her sister Linda, daughter-in-law Noel Josephs, son-in-law Adam Mansfield and longtime partner Al.

Well, that didn’t land.

The Fall Guy is hitting cinemas this weekend, but some people who got to preview the film aren’t impressed with a joke that references Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s relationship.

In the stunt actor-inspired action-comedy, Hannah Waddingham’s producer character walks into a messy trailer, where she tells Emily Blunt, playing a director: “It’s like Amber and Johnny were just in here.”

The scene didn’t sit right with many people online, who thought the “distasteful” and “cheap” line made light of domestic violence.

Others posted that they had been excited to see the movie before hearing about the off-colour joke.

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard attend the 2016 Grammy Awards. A joke about their rocky relationship is at the center of a minor controversy.

Heard and Depp married in 2015 but split just 15 months later.

Details about the pair’s tumultuous relationship would become public years later, when Depp sued Heard for defamation after she called herself a “a public figure representing domestic abuse” in a 2018 op-ed for the Washington Post.

An intense court battle ensued, in which both actors accused each other of abuse. In the end, a jury ruled in Depp’s favour and ordered Heard to pay him millions in damages.

HuffPost has reached out to the distributor of The Fall Guy, Universal Pictures, for comment.

Ryan Gosling Gets Candid About How Being A Dad Has Affected Which Roles He Says Yes To

Ryan Gosling has claimed that he always has his family in mind when selecting roles these days.

The three-time Oscar nominee is a dad to two daughters, nine-year-old Esmeralda Amada and eight-year-old Amanda Lee, who he shares with his long-term partner Eva Mendes.

While Ryan has plenty of hard-hitting roles in his back catalogue, including the neo-Nazi drama The Believer and the violent action drama Drive, he’s said that more recently, he’s leaning towards lighter projects, so he can be more present with his family after a day’s shooting is over.

“I don’t really take roles that are going to put me in some kind of dark place,” he told WSJ magazine.

“This moment is what I feel like trying to read the room at home and feel like what is going to be best for all of us. The decisions I make, I make them with Eva and we make them with our family in mind first.”

Ryan claimed this shift began with the musical La La Land, with subsequent projects including the Neil Armstrong biopic First Man, sci-fi sequel Blade Runner 2049 and, of course, Greta Gerwig’s hit Barbie movie.

“It was just sort of like, ‘oh, [La La Land] will be fun for them, too, because even though they’re not coming to set, we’re practicing piano every day or we’re dancing or we’re singing’,” he explained.

“Their interest in Barbie and their disinterest in Ken was an inspiration […] they were already making little movies about their Barbies on the iPad when it happened, so the fact that I was going off to work to make one too, we just felt like we were aligned.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Ryan spoke about performing a stunt in his new comedy The Fall Guy, when he was suddenly hit with a fear of heights.

“I think it’s happened when I had kids – really, you start to be way more conscious of everything you do and everything you’ve ever done and everything you will do if you get a chance to do it,” he added.

Before Barbie’s release, Ryan made no secret of the fact that his daughters’ own indifference towards Ken led to him saying yes to the Barbie film.

He told The Tonight Show: “I walk out in the backyard [after getting the offer] and, do you know where I found Ken. Face down in the mud next to a squished lemon.

“I texted [the photo] to Greta and said, ‘I shall be your Ken, for this story must be told’.”

The most recent film in the Jurassic Park franchise debuted on Netflix UK just days ago – and quickly leapt to the top of the streaming platform’s list of most-watched films.

Jurassic World Dominion first hit cinemas in 2022, and sees Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard sharing the screen with Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum and Sam Nell, who first appeared in Steven Spielberg’s original film from back in 1993.

While admittedly it didn’t exactly get the warmest reception from critics upon its release, it was still a hit at the box office, which has seemingly now translated into viewers tuning in on Netflix.

And if watching Jurassic World Dominion has got you in the mood to revisit the rest of the adventure saga, here’s where the rest of the series is streaming.

Throwing it right back to the acclaimed original film, you can catch the epic Jurassic Park on Now or Sky Cinema.

Staying in the 1990s, Steven Spielberg’s follow-up The Lost World was somewhat more coolly received at the time, with the third film in the series, titled simply Jurassic Park III, faring even less well with critics.

However, if you’d still consider them an essential part of your Jurassic rewatch, you can catch both of them on Amazon Prime Video.

The series was rebooted more than a decade later with 2015’s Jurassic World, considered by many to be a return to form for the dinosaur film saga.

Like the first Jurassic Park movie, this one is also available to watch on Now and Sky Cinema, while follow-up Fallen Kingdom, which reintroduced Jeff Goldblum to the series, is streaming on Netflix.

And although Dominion marked the end of the Jurassic World trilogy, another reboot was recently confirmed to be in the works, which will reportedly star Scarlett Johansson alongside Bridgerton’s Jonathan Bailey.

Oh… and if you wanted to check out the animated spin-offs Chaos Theory, Camp Cretaceous or the interactive Camp Cretaceous: Hidden Adventure, they’re also on Netflix now, while 2019’s short film Battle At Big Rock is available to watch on YouTube below:
