Ozzy Osbourne’s Family Pay Their Respects Ahead Of His Funeral Alongside Thousands Of Fans

Ozzy Osbourne’s family joined thousands of mourners who gathered on Wednesday to pay their respects to the rock icon.

The late Black Sabbath frontman’s funeral procession took place in Birmingham on Wednesday afternoon, ahead of a more private service for family and friends.

In addition to the hundreds upon hundreds of fans who lined the streets as part of his funeral procession, the late rocker’s wife, Sharon Osbourne, and their three children, Aimee, Kelly and Jack, were also pictured Birmingham.

A tearful Sharon was seen embracing Birmingham’s Lord Mayor Zafar Iqbal, who declared that Ozzy was “more than a music legend — he was a son of Birmingham”.

“We know how much this moment will mean to his fans,” Iqbal added.

As Ozzy’s hearse passed – adorned with purple flowers including a wreath spelling out the Grammy winner’s name – fans were also heard chanting: “Ozzy, Ozzy, Ozzy, oi, oi, oi.”

Ozzy – whose legal name was John Michael Osbourne – died earlier this month at the age of 76. He had previously been vocal about his health issues, which included Parkinson’s disease, with which he was diagnosed in 2003, although he did not disclose this publicly until 2020.

Two weeks before his death, Ozzy and his Black Sabbath bandmates reunited for one last show, dubbed Back To The Beginning, which saw around 45,000 fans gathering at Birmingham’s Villa Park stadium to see him performing tracks like War Pigs and Paranoid.

As well as his children, Aimee, Kelly and Jack – the latter two of whom rose to fame when they appeared alongside their parents in the groundbreaking reality show The Osbournes – Ozzy was also a dad to two more children, Jessica and Louis, from his marriage to his first wife, Thelma Riley.

During this relationship, he also adopted Riley’s five-year-old son Elliot.

Before the funeral, tributes had also been laid at Ozzy’s star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame, as well as the Black Sabbath Bridge in Birmingham.

Gwyneth Paltrow Sets The Record Straight On Where Her Friendship Stands With Meghan Markle

Gwyneth Paltrow is setting the record straight on her relationship with Meghan Markle.

Over the weekend, People magazine published an interview with Gwyneth about the constant comparisons she and the Duchess of Sussex continue to face since the latter launched both her new lifestyle site and Netflix show.

“I don’t like that, when people try to pit women against each other,” the Oscar-winning actor told the outlet.

She said that the two, who both live in Montecito, California, have what she described as “a text friendship so far”.

Gwyneth seems open to collaborating with Meghan, though, and said she’d be down to make an appearance on the second season of the royal’s show, With Love, Meghan.

“Sure! Why not? You never know,” she said. “I don’t bake that well, but I can always try.”

The Goop founder previously spoke to Vanity Fair about feeling defensive of Meghan, without actually knowing her well.

“I was raised to see other women as friends, not foes,” she said at the time. “I think there’s always more than enough to go around. Everybody deserves an attempt at everything that they want to try.”

She said that when “there’s noise about certain women in the culture, I do have, always, a strong instinct to stand up for them”.

To make sure the masses knew that the Sliding Doors star and duchess were indeed on each other’s side, the two put out a memorable moment on Instagram in March.

In the Q&A video, Gwyneth read out an an enquiry saying: “Are you comprehending the Meghan Markle beef that social media says you two have?”

“I genuinely do not understand this at all, whatsoever,” she responded, at which point camera panned to a surprise cameo from Meghan, who was seen grinning and shrugging her shoulders as she ate a piece of pie.

Lily Allen Apologises To Katy Perry For ‘Mean’ Space Flight Comments

In a recent episode of her podcast, Miss Me?, Lily and co-host Miquita Oliver discussed the news that Katy and five other women had taken an 11-minute flight into space.

“What the hell was all that about?” the Brit Award winner said (per BBC News). “I mean, in all seriousness, what? Why? For why?

“It’s so out of touch. Like, we’re on the brink of recession. People are really struggling to make ends meet and put food on their tables. And the fact that they’ve, like, made it like some sort of feminist thing…”

However, in the latest instalment of Lily’s podcast, she walked back some of her comments, describing them as “mean” and putting her criticism down to “internalised misogyny”.

“There was actually no need for me to bring [Katy’s] name into it, and it was my own internalised misogyny,” Lily told Miquita. “I’ve been thinking about it a lot, and it was just completely unnecessary to pile on with her.”

The Smile singer continued: “I mean, I disagree with what it was that they did, but she wasn’t the only person that did it. She was possibly the most famous, and the one that divides people the most, and so there was something in me that decided to choose her [to talk about]. Well, anyway, I’m just sorry.”

Katy was joined on her trip to space by American broadcaster Gayle King, movie producer Kerianne Flynn, journalist Lauren Sánchez (who is engaged to Jeff Bezos, the owner of the space travel company Blue Origin), activist Amanda Nguyễn and rocket scientist Aisha Bowe.

Upon her return to Earth, Gayle King hit back at some of the criticisms levelled against herself and her teammates.

Patrick Schwarzenegger Gets Honest About Very Awkward ‘Fan’ Encounter

Thanks to his breakout performance in the current season of The White Lotus, Patrick Schwarzenegger is more recognisable than ever.

Or, at least, that’s what you would think.

The former Gen V star has revealed he recently had a humbling encounter with a “fan”, that turned out to be a case of mistaken identity.

Posting on X on Tuesday afternoon, Patrick recalled that he’d been approached by a girl who asked him: “Excuse me… are you the…?”

After confirming with an “awkward laugh” that “maybe” he was – she then professed her love for his work in Pretty Little Liars.

The only issue there, of course, is the fact that Patrick never actually appeared in that show.

Still, at least he saw the funny side of the otherwise awkward encounter…

Those of us who actually are watching The White Lotus will know that Patrick’s character is currently embroiled in one of the show’s most outrageous storylines ever, after it emerged that his on-screen brother performed a sex act on him during a threesome.

Since the latest episode aired, the actor has spoken out in defence of the show, with both Patrick and co-star Sam Nivola insisting that the much-discussed storyline is about much more than just “shock value”.

“There’s some sensationalism, but then there’s also the stuff behind the wall of the character and what he’s dealing with in the conflict of what just happened,” Patrick claimed earlier this week.

He added: “There’s always more than what just meets the eye of the shock value on the screen.”

Patrick – the son of action star and former governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger and journalist Maria Shriver – recently spoke candidly about the awkward moment he watched one of his earlier nude scenes alongside his famous family.

The White Lotus continues on Mondays on Sky and Now.
