Lady Gaga has made no secret of the fact she’s feeling pretty loved-up right now, following her engagement to entrepreneur Michael Polansky last year.
In fact, Gaga has even revealed it was her fiancé who encouraged her to throw herself back into pop music with both feet, and he’s even credited as the executive producer of her new album, Mayhem, which was released on Friday morning.

One Mayhem cut, Blade Of Grass, is inspired by the Grammy winner’s new relationship, and she recently opened up to USA Today about how a conversation with her husband-to-be inspired the song.
“We started working on that song after we got engaged,” she explained.
“A long time ago, we were in the backyard and he said, ‘If I ever propose to you, what should I do?’. I said, ‘You can just wrap a blade of grass around my finger and I’ll say yes’.”
On the finished song, Gaga can be heard singing: “Come on and wrap that blade of grass, around my finger like a cast. ’Cause even though the church burned down, I’ll be your queen without a crown.

“I’ve been so lonely in this field, fightin’ a battle with no shield. Come on and wrap that blade of grass, and we’ll make it last.”
The Oscar winner added: “It’s a love song between the two of us, but sometimes when we find love in our lives, it can also help us reflect on what it took to get there.

“Standing in my backyard, looking out at the ocean, I was thinking about all the people I’ve left behind or lost along the way. It was this incredibly happy moment and also bittersweet, which is why that record is haunting and beautiful.”
Gaga told British Vogue last year, around the release of her film Joker: Folie À Deux: “Michael is the person who told me to make a new pop record. He was like, ‘Babe. I love you. You need to make pop music’.”
He also told the outlet: “Like anyone would do for the person they love, I encouraged her to lean in to the joy of it.

“On the Chromatica tour, I saw a fire in her; I wanted to help her keep that alive all the time and just start making music that made her happy.”
So far, Mayhem has received near-unanimous praise from critics, and has been hailed as a return to her musical roots, harking back to sounds first used on her albums The Fame and Born This Way.
The Legally Blonde star has been enjoying a huge career renaissance since she started playing Tanya in the hit US anthology series, as evidenced by her wins at the Emmys, Golden Globes, Critics’ Choice Awards and SAG Awards in the past few years.

Given that Tanya was killed off in the season two finale, it’s perhaps no surprise that the third iteration of The White Lotus has been the first not to feature Jen – although that hasn’t stopped fans from coming up with ways she could be shoehorned into a future season.
One popular suggestion has seen some White Lotus viewers claiming that Jennifer could play Tanya’s twin sister in a future season of The White Lotus, though she downplayed this idea during a recent interview with Forbes.
“Look, it’s not like I haven’t wished or whatever, but it isn’t happening,” she insisted. “It doesn’t matter.”
Jennifer then added: “They don’t need me.”
She also heaped praise on The White Lotus creator Mike White, who is also her personal friend, claiming he can “tell a story better than anybody”.
Although Jennifer’s character does not appear in the current series of The White Lotus, her presence is still very much felt thanks to the return of Jon Gries, who played Tanya’s love interest in the first two seasons.

“I hope he gets it!” Jennifer added during her Forbes interview. “I hope they do something terrible to him.”
Jon isn’t the only returning star in the new batch of episodes, though, with Natasha Rothwell reprising the role of Belinda, who had her own run-ins with Tanya during the show’s inaugural run.
The White Lotus continues on Monday on Sky and Now in the UK.
After much anticipation, the Duchess of Sussex’s new lifestyle show With Love, Meghan has officially dropped on Netflix.
In a teaser shared on the streaming service’s Instagram page a day before the release, the actor-turned-royal-turned-lifestyle-guru could be seen carefully cutting and arranging fruit in the shape of a rainbow for her children Archie, five, and Lilibet, three.
“You don’t have to do a big platter of this,” Meghan said in the clip while arranging the fruit – an array of chopped blueberries, raspberries, pineapple, grapes and strawberries – by colour. “You could do this with one small row for your kids for breakfast, genuinely, and it makes the morning a lot more fun.”
The clip, which was shared yesterday, has prompted a mixed response on social media, with some questioning its relatability and who would have time to pull together £40-worth of fruit for their kids.
“Seriously, what busy mum has got time to fiddle about with a plate of fruit?” one Instagram user said on social media.
“I must be an awful Mother as I didn’t make rainbow fruit plates for my children!” added another.
Even Lorraine Kelly had something to say about the platter.
“Doesn’t that all look so clean and gorgeous and lovely and unrealistic though, for the rest of us!” said the show host on ITV’s Lorraine.
She later added: “Are you seriously, though, trying to say to me that you don’t, in the morning, when you’re getting the kids out to school and stuff, that you don’t cut up fruit in a beautiful way and put it in the shape of a rainbow? Are you telling me that?!”
It’s worth noting that the duchess did reflect in the clip that the platter isn’t an everyday occurrence in her trailer for the show.

While prepping the fruit, she said: “It’s a real delight in being able to be a present parent. And it’s a luxury sometimes because we all have to work. We all have a lot of stuff to do, but when you can take a minute to just…”
A member of the film crew quickly interjected with “Saturday morning” and the mum-of-two nodded. “Yeah,” she whispered.
In the eight-part series – which sees Meghan joined by guests including Roy Choi, Mindy Kaling and Alice Waters – the host also revealed her surname is now Sussex, to match her children.
Responding to Mindy Kaling, who said: “People wouldn’t believe that Meghan Markle ate at Jack In The Box [a fast food restaurant]”, Meghan replied: “You know I’m Sussex now.”
She added: “You have kids and you go, ‘No, I share my name with my children.’ I didn’t know how meaningful that would be to me, but it just means so much to go, this is our family name, our little family name.”
It seems the show itself is very much like Marmite – with some loving it, and others, well, not so much. The Independent described it as “queasy and exhausting”.

“Cant wait to watch,” said one commenter in response to Netflix’s fruit platter-filled trailer.
Meanwhile in Google’s reviews for the series, a viewer said: “Really enjoying the show so far. Some great tips and ideas for different foods. I would also like to mention how sweet and lovely lady Meghan is.
“You can clearly see she is passionate, kind and an amazing mum to her lovely kids. Loved the kids tea party idea and very affordable for any household.”
But this year, host Conan O’Brien at least gave the event’s unrecognised cast members a snack box and a touching note, just as he did with the celebs.

In an X post, the editor-in-chief of Variety Ramin Setoodeh said: There’s a note from Conan under every #Oscars seat with a snack box of water and a pretzel.”

In the note, the host claimed that he’d planned to include another item in the box ― but that it had been given a “hard pass” from Disney, who has the rights to air the show.
“Dear Star/Seat Filler, I hope you enjoy these complimentary snacks,” the note reads.
“I tried my best to include a gummy but Disney said that was a ‘hard pass’,” it continues.
“Have a great night, Conan,” the note ended, along with a doodle of the host himself (the comedian is known by fans for his drawings).

Of course, it’s nowhere near as costly as this year’s Oscars goodie bag which went to all 25 top acting and directing nominees and included a five-night stay at a luxury resort and up to $1 million worth of emergency services to people affected by this year’s LA wildfires.
A commenter wanted to know what we were all wondering, too: “are [the notes] all the same copied and printed or did he handwrite them individually because he is both funny and genuine enough to do that?”
We reckon the reply to their question rings true though ― “I don’t think he’d have the time to handwrite hundreds of notes.”
Sitting on Drew’s famous couch, Halle said that her prognosis for perimenopause, which is when a woman’s body makes the natural transition to menopause, came four years ago when she was 54.

The Monster’s Ball star explained that her doctor was confident in his diagnosis — but it took her by surprise.
“He’s doing the exam, and he’s looking up there — and he says, ‘Yup, I think I know what this is’,” she said, adding that the doctor later told her that she had a “really bad case of herpes”.
Her boyfriend, Van Hunt, drove her to her appointment because, as she recalled, her private area was “so swollen” that she “couldn’t put her legs together to drive”.

She then said that, for the next “72 hours”, the couple initiated the “blame game” to find out who was the cause of the supposed sexually transmitted disease.
“A couple hours after that, my doctor called me and said, ‘You do not have herpes’,” Halle continued.
Relieved by the news, the actor was still left wondering why she was experiencing such discomfort in her nether regions. Frustratingly, her doctor seemed clueless about her condition, so Halle did her “own research” to assess what was happening to her body.

Her research led to a discovery: “dry vagina syndrome”, a condition women can have when they experience perimenopause, with Halle sharing with Drew that she “had all the symptoms.
“I realised, I’m 54 years old,” she said. “I learned that perimenopause can start in your late 30s, even in [your] early 40s.”

Halle went on to explain that “no one had a serious conversation” with her about the condition, and Drew then chimed in, saying that “there’s no real age, rhyme or reason” for perimenopause before both agreed that “everybody goes through it differently”.
The Catwoman actor has previously talked about her herpes misdiagnosis, saying in a Forbes article published last year: “The doctor should have never made that diagnosis.”
This year, marketing company Distinctive Assets is in charge of their “Everyone Wins” Oscars bags, which will go to all 25 top acting and directing nominees.
“While our gifts may be famous for being fun and fabulous, they also serve as a means to elevate small businesses, minority-owned brands, female entrepreneurs and companies that give back,” the company’s founder, Lash Fary, said.
“This year, on the heels of the historically tragic LA fires, we have found even more ways that our celebrity swag can do good in our community.”
In practice, that means this year’s Oscars goodie bag will include a membership to disaster recovery charity Bright Harbor, who is offering $1 million worth of services to those affected by the fires.
“Whether they pamper themselves or share these bountiful gifts as a care package for a friend who may have recently lost their home, we give these gifts not based on the recipients’ need but out of a desire to brighten someone’s day and to acknowledge a job well done,” Lash shared.
Isabella Rossellini will follow her Oscar-nominated performance in Conclave with a role in a new historical drama.
On Wednesday afternoon, it was revealed that the Italian actor will join Dame Joan Collins in The Bitter End, an upcoming film about the final years of Wallis Simpson.
Dame Joan told The Guardian in 2023 that the movie would tell “the true story of the last years of the Duchess of Windsor after the Duke dies”, claiming that Simpson “was abused by this woman who took her over and took away her objects, her money, and left her practically destitute”.
In the film, the Dynasty legend will play Wallis Simpson, while Isabella will portray Suzanne Blum, described in a press release as “the formidable French lawyer and confidante of Wallis Simpson, who at the hands of Blum found herself ensnared in a menacing grip of obsession and coercive control”.

Wallis Simpson married King Edward VIII 1937, after he abdicated from the throne so they could tie the knot.
After the pair visited Germany that same year without the proper approval, they were accused of being Nazi sympathisers, and Simpson spent much of the rest of her life in exile, particularly after the former monarch’s death in 1972.
Simpson’s final years were marred by several health issues, and she eventually died in 1986 at the age of 89.

Dame Joan previously said of the movie: “First of all [Simpson is] full of pep and she’s got her young acolytes around her, then bit by bit she is destroyed by circumstances.
“It’s a very good script and it’s a great part for me. I’ve always been fascinated by Wallis, because I think she was unfairly treated.”

Wallis Simpson has recently been played by Lia Williams in The Crown and Oscar nominee Andrea Riseborough in Madonna’s film about the couple, W.E.
Judgment day arrived a bit ahead of schedule for Matthew Lawrence, when he failed to meet one of his co-star’s work standards.
During a candid moment on Monday’s episode of the podcast Magical Rewind, hosted by Matthew’s Boy Meets World co-star Will Friedle and actor Sabrina Bryan, the trio dived into behind-the-scenes of the ’90s TV Movie H-E Double Hockey Sticks.
The film, which centred around Will’s devilish character, who was sent to Earth to capture the soul of a young hockey player (played by Matthew), also starred a young Gabrielle Union.
During the filming process, Gabrielle allegedly wanted to rehearse lines with Matthew, but the actor declined her offer.
“There was this one moment where — and, again, I’m oblivious, I had no idea — she wanted to rehearse,” he recalled. “And I was like, ‘No, I’m good’.”

His rationale? “Running lines” took “all the freshness” out of the performance.
Gabrielle allegedly wasn’t thrilled with his decision and took her grievances to a higher power.
“And she got angry and went and reported me to the director and the studio,” Matthew said. “The only time in my entire career, because usually I’m, like, the advocate, and I’m fighting for kids and, like, you know, women’s rights.
“This is the only time in my life when I was called into the office for something I did on set. And I had no clue.”

Matthew confessed that this was his only “run-in” with another actor – a moment that he said left him “embarrassed”.
At the time, he said he wasn’t familiar with Gabrielle’s work, but recounted that people on set knew that she was going to blow up and become a big star.
The same year as the film’s debut, she went on to star in 10 Things I Hate About You, and She’s All That, and the following year had appeared in the cult classic Bring It On as well as Love & Basketball.
Ted Lasso has officially been dethroned as the jewel in Apple TV+’s crown.
Until this week, the Emmy-winning comedy had been the most-watched original show on Apple’s streaming service.
However, it’s now been bested by the return of Severance.
Earlier this week, Deadline reported that Severance had become the platform’s most-watched show ever, following its season two premiere last month.

Apple’s head of programming Matt Cherniss also enthused: “We have long admired Ben’s extraordinary gift for original and immersive storytelling, and with he and Dan at the helm, Severance has proven to be an extraordinary success and a cultural phenomenon.
“The series has become an obsession for audiences all over the world and we can’t wait for people to continue to experience all the masterful twists and turns as the rest of the season unfolds.”
Although Ted Lasso came to an end in 2023, it may still have time to claim its record back.
It didn’t take long for some viewers of the satirical comedy-drama to pick up that the surname “Ratliff” appeared in another show that originated on the US broadcaster HBO.
Colin Firth as Michael Peterson in The Staircase

Back in 2022, The Staircase was adapted into a true crime drama series headed up by Colin Firth and Toni Collette.
The original documentary told the story of Michael Peterson, a writer who was initially convicted of murdering his wife Kathleen, only for the charge to be reduced to manslaughter seven years later after he submitted an Alford plea, after which he was freed.
In the drama – and, indeed, in real life – Peterson’s adopted daughters, played by Sophie Turner and Odessa Young, had the somewhat unusual surname Ratliff, which did not go unnoticed by White Lotus fans when the show’s new family members were introduced.

The similarities don’t end there, though, as the Ratliff family are revealed to be from Durham, North Carolina, the same Southern city in which the events depicted in The Staircase played out.
Patrick Schwarzenegger, Odessa Young, Sophie Turner and Dane DeHaan in The Staircase
Oh, and then there’s the fact that two of the actors in the new season of The White Lotus – Parker Posey and Patrick Schwarzenegger – also appeared in the dramatised version of the original documentary The Staircase.

Exactly what this means remains to be seen, although some fans have their suspicions…
I have this theory that the “RATLIFF” family in #TheWhiteLotus is a nod to The Staircase’s Ratliff/Peterson blended family saga. Mike White def. watched P. Schwarz in it and got inspired. Maybe the siblings aren’t blood-related, and there’s a secret about how family came together pic.twitter.com/EMbZOmVO6I
